Chapter 28 Hana returned from the bathroom and paused in the lobby listening to her son. Bodie tried to extract from Jas the reason he thought it cool to have a robber and a thug for a father. He wasted his time. Jas made up a song for every word which remotely rhymed with ‘fug.’ He proved entertaining if exasperating. The doctor told her to cram the first day’s antibiotics in with only a few hours apart. He wanted to hit the infection hard. She took another and realised the ache had lessened in the pit of her stomach. “Your colour looks better,” Bodie noted as she sat at the kitchen table. Hana nodded, wondering if loneliness served to compound her health problems. She pulled Jas onto her knee. “I like you being here,” she admitted. “It’s good having company.” “Isn’t Logan here much?
