I
Akina's POV
I had been running for 2 weeks straight without a single break. My family and I were just having dinner when these random people busted our door down, guns blazing. Tears pricked my eyes remembering the horror on my family's face. I remember the words my mum had said to me just before her, my dad and my brother were shot dead.
"You are stronger than you know akina, you are the chosen one, you are the worlds last hope, so stay strong and read this, you will soon understand" then she was shot in the head. I quickly bolted out the door, we lived in the woods because my dad never trusted machines. The familiar heavyweight of the book she gave me was still in my hand. I hadn't even peeked at it since I started running.
I didn't even know HOW I was still running at all anymore. My legs were barely even sore and my breathing is completely normal. I just felt... normal, I still felt like I should read the book though but I don't know if it's okay to stop yet. I finally make the decision that the next lake I cross I would stop for the night. About 2 hours later I found a small lake. A small moss bed caught my attention and I walked over to it and sat down.
Then I started reading.
BOOK
"A long time ago, an oracle, king Millennia's oracle, foretold a future where a wolf the size of his castle with fur the colour of fresh snow shall overthrow him. The wolf will be half-wolf, half woman and will have control over the elements."
Akina's POV
I was broken out of my trance of reading when a twig snapped behind me, followed by a low growl. My ears perk sub-consciously, I look behind me and see a bush rustle. But strangely I still feel calm, like I wasn't the one controlling my body... just a passenger. The bush rustles more and the growling becomes louder. I'm then pulled back into reality when a huge wolf steps out.
It puts its nose into the air and I hear a loud sniff. It then growls louder and I see its eyes darken kinda. "f**k" I groan
