Perfect day out

935 Words
Around 5 am, I made my way through to the bedroom because I was going to need some sleep before heading out on my Salisbury excursion today. I managed to catch another 3 hours. This time, my sleep was restful and uninterrupted. Upon waking, I had a quick wash and dressed in some comfortable clothes for the day's tourism plans. Despite my agitated night, I feel energized at the thought of the planned outing, and I am determined to enjoy my day. I make my way over to the main building in order to indulge in a delicious breakfast, as I haven't made any plans for lunch at that point. Several members of staff are tending to the buffet. There is yoghurt, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, bread, jam, bacon, eggs, sausages. I go for the full English breakfast, thinking that it should keep me going most of the day. Everything is delicious, and I polish my huge plate off with a cup of tea. I catch a glimpse of Bethany, and we exchange a quick wave as I leave the room and head for my Ford. A quick drive brings me into Salisbury town. I love this part of the UK, with its small shopfronts and bustling streets. I stroll through the town momentarily, then make my way to the renowned cathedral. I will say it is a lovely visit. The building is huge, obviously. Very impressive. I soak up the spiritual feeling and ponder on all the people who have visited this place over the centuries. I imagine what they were wearing, why they were here. After a good hour on the premises, I decide to move on to Stonehenge - this is the moment I am most excited about. It turned out I did well to go for the hearty breakfast as I am nowhere near hungry at this point. Approaching Stonehenge is magical. Seeing the famous stone circle in real life is breathtaking, and the spirituality hangs heavier in the air here, than it did in the cathedral. Here again, I try to picture the kind of ceremonies and crowds drawn. This is more challenging as we really don't know much about the place. I definitely believe in the existence of ley lines and how incredible it is that monuments such as these, exist on an invisible energy grid all over the world. I reckon this would be a nice place to take a nap and soak up some ancient energy indeed. With an eye on the incredible structure, I set out a picnic rug and settle down. I listen to the chirpy spring bird song and let myself doze off. There is the door. Not moving now. I slowly put my hand on the doorknob and try to turn it, as I have done many times before. This time, the knob turns! I cannot believe it and feel the excitement coursing through my veins as I push open the infamous door. I am not sure what I expected, a hallway maybe. A library. Stacks of papers holding my memories, drawers withholding mental images... I did not expect to find myself in a room, watching two people. The captivating man from last night's dream is there. He is sitting down, his elbows on his knees, and his head in his hands: "She was there, Landrew, I swear it". To his left, another man sits, angling his body towards him. "I believe you, Rhakov." "She's alive. There is magic at work here, as we suspected. But she's alive." The incredibly handsome man, whose name is apparently Rhakov, rises and paces towards the doorway. His eyes dart towards the door, and he stops in his tracks when his eyes fall on me. "You're here. Are you really here?" I just stare at him, dumbfounded. What in the world is going on? "I'm... here", I reply hesitantly. "Shantara. My eternal. Where are you?" I feel the anguish towards the end of his sentence. "I'm at Stonhenge. In the UK." "My eternal, I have been looking for you for so long". Rhakov's hands fly to his face. He takes a big breath and looks at me like he cannot believe this is happening. That makes two of us. Actually, I am not at all sure what is happening, and he looks like he has been waiting for this moment all his life. I hate to disappoint, but I do not know what to say, and I fear this moment may feel quite anticlimactic for him. "My eternal, I do not know how you have appeared here right now, but this shows we can counter the magic. We can be together." Together? I mean, with pleasure but... "I'm asleep" is all I manage to respond. I begin to feel a stirring, I feel my presence diminishing in this antique and exotic room. I don't want to leave this man with whom I feel a deep link. I had forgotten the second man's presence until he interjects "My lady, I am honored to meet you. I am Landrew, Rhakov's advisor and friend. You have found a crack in the magic, and you have found your way to Rhakov. Whatever you are doing, keep it up. We will search for this stone henge and do our best on our side. Please keep opening the connection!" My eyes fly to Rhakov as I feel myself leaving this foreign place. As if I were some sort of hologram fading. "Shantara..." is all he manages to say and, all of a sudden, I open my eyes on the hillside near Salisbury.
