Who am I

I know my name is Kate and Today I am 18. Everyone always goes crazy on my Birthday around here not because they want to celebrate but because I am getting older and its getting harder to answer my questions. I have long silvery tinted hair and bright blue eyes with pale white skin.

See for as long as I can remember I've been held prisoner in this castle and its not a beautiful castle with bright colors and singing its dark and cold and the people here only come to my room when they have too.

I've only really talked to about 3 people religiously for as long as I can remember. There is Helen she has been like my nanny she basically raised me, Tabitha who cooked and cleaned my room daily, and Peter who was my guard he took me outside daily to stretch my legs.

I always wondered where my parents are but no one ever answered my questions when I ask. I always get the same answers "you don't need parents miss you have us." But why was I always locked in my room? Why am I being raised by a 80 yr old woman? Why cant I go outside when I wanted? Am I a prisoner in my home and why?

I was brought back to reality by the knocking on my door. Good morning miss and Happy birthday my nanny said. good morning Helen I replied. How are you feeling today miss? Helen I think its time I get some answers and you must give them to me! I yelled. 

Her face dropped and the smile disappeared she sighed and sat down. Miss I will tell you what I can because I think its time you know but after I tell you please promise you will try and escape and never return. promise she said? But Helen where would I go? I asked with tears in my eyes. You don't want me anymore?  Oh honey be still ill explain. she said.

18 years ago your mother and father ruled this land they were the Alpha and Luna of this pack. But a week after you were born our pack was raided by rogues. Your parents and all the warriors fought to defend our home and all the people in it. But there was too many rogues and they over powered us.

They killed all the strong pack members including your parents. No! I cried as tears ran down my face. I'm afraid so she whispered. But the children, woman and elderly were spared and forced to work and live like this was a normal pack. And if anyone defied the new leader they would be killed. but why I asked?

Because he need to build a strong pack and he knew none of the wolves from your dads pack had anywhere to go so he threatened them with there lives. oh I gasped. Was everyone locked away like me? I asked. No miss only you. she said. 

But why was I treated different? I asked. Well the the new master demanded you be locked away and only have a few people who where allowed to take care of you. He said on your 18th Birthday a ceremony would take place and he would have his Luna and be 'officially the Alpha" and he would rule the pack with you as his wife. But why me I asked?

Because you were the sole heir to the Alpha title and he was not gonna let you take over when you come of age and have him killed. she said But Helen I cant fight I didn't even know who my parents where he could have treated me like a slave like he did the rest of the pack and I wouldn't know any different. I said.

Maybe not miss but he figured someday someone would tell you the truth and you would fight back. So he had you locked away and I was assigned to take care of you and miss Tabitha to cook and clean for you and he threatened our lives if we ever told you. We decided to keep quiet until today. 

What about peter he seems nice to me why didn't he help me escape before now? I asked. miss he is 1 of masters guards he just has a heart and does as he is told. oh I said.

Wait 1 question Helen if I may? yes dear but quick. Why have I never met master before? All these years and I've only seen you 3? The master did not want you to ask questions or try and "figure out the situation" so he stayed away until the night of your ceremony. What a coward I yelled. 

My door flung open and there stood Tabitha ma'am she said its time. Oh miss you need to get on comfortable clothes and shoes. I do not own shoes I said. But Tabitha handed me a pair of tennis shoes and said these are for you. I put on ratty yoga pants and a t-shirt and threw on the shoes as I was being shoved off the bed and pulled down the hall. Now be quiet miss and just listen carefully. Helen said. 

When we get outside and its clear I want you to run and don't look back do you understand miss. yes Helen I understand. Will you both be coming with me? no miss I am too old to run and Tabitha is not strong enough to run. she said.

As we got to the edge of the forest and they quickly hugged me good bye and they were shoving me away. Go now miss and don't look back they shouted.

 I ran fast as I heard alarms going off and howling in the background but I did not slow down not for a sec. I ran and ran not knowing where I was going until Bam! A brick wall and I slowly drifted off into a deep slumber.
