Returning home

We were about an hour from home and I couldn't wait. Wolves are not designed to be away from their mates to long. Alphas and Betas do ok we are designed a little different. I guess the Moon Goddess decided since we had more power she needed to make us a little more flexible. But regardless every time I'm away from my princess to long I feel empty.

My dad broke my thoughts when he began asking about traveling more often between packs. Dad I have Jay there for a reason I cant keep leaving my duties and traveling back and fourth besides Kate is 4 months pregnant today and she is gonna start biting my head off if I keep leaving her.

She understands my dad began. But I think there is more to this pack than we realize and someone needs to keep an eye on it. Jay is doing a great job son but he is now love struck and he maybe a little blinded. I just feel like he needs more eyes so he can see the whole picture not just a portion. Remember he is a Beta he don't have full Alpha instincts and that could get them hurt.

When we get home I'm gonna have a talk with your mother about moving into the Grey Moon pack for awhile but ill need to keep Jay for awhile ok son. That would be fine dad. We rounded the last bend and the Pack House came in view "Home" I said out loud. We parked and got our things and Kate came waddling down the stairs. She threw her arms around me "I've missed you handsome" She said kissing me. Oh princess I've missed you more I said picking her up and twirling her around.

Lunch is ready my mom yelled at the door come eat before it gets cold. MMM food I said as my stomach grumbled. We headed in to the dining room and chatted about Kates pack. Princess Jay found his mate! He did she boomed that's terrific! What is she like? Well she is an omega she lives and works in the Mansion she seems very sweet. That's wonderful news.

Will she be coming here when Jay comes back? Yes that is how it works princess the female always goes where the male goes even if it is another pack. Oh she said with a smile. But it maybe awhile before they come home. Why? She said. Is something wrong? Well I began were not sure what is going on right now but I promise when we find out you will be the first to know as of now don't worry. 

My dad spoke up Lana dear how would you feel about going over to the Grey Moon pack and staying for awhile? Jay could use some help and I get to relive my Alpha days he said with a smile. What about John and Kate? She said. We will be fine mom and I promise we will call the moment Kate goes into labor. She smiled well I guess you boys already discussed this so really I don't have any say in it. She said looking disappointed.

Its settled then dad said with a smile we will leave in a week. Son we will need to work out some details soon. Yes after dinner I said with a smile. We will also have to let Jay know your coming back and taking over I bet he will be happy his work load will be lightened.

After lunch, Kate whisked me away to the nursery my mom and Kate along with Dee completed it while we were away. Close your eyes handsome she said when we reached the door. Ready she said? I heard the door open and I opened my eyes. Wow princess this is very nice. The walls were painted light blue and the crib, changing table, dresser and rocking chair was all mahogany wood. Their was a mural on the wall of pups playing in a forest theme.

I cant believe you done all this while I was gone. She smiled. Did you know your mother was an artist? Actually yes She would draw often when I was a child. We would sit down in the evenings and draw, her art work was always beautiful and mine was terrible. She always fussed over my work though like I was Picasso or something.

Well she did a wonderful job and its not to flashy in here its peaceful and that's what I wanted something peaceful and comfortable. She said with a smile. Princess your amazing and you all done a wonderful job all we need now is our pup. He said wrapping his hands around my waste kissing me. 

I do need to catch up some work since I've been gone. How did everything go while I was gone? Good the groundskeeper did come up and was complaining about how someone keeps messing with his flower beds close to the school but other than that we didn't have any problems.

I made a trip to the hospital and took my bags and everything I would need to our suite so when I do go into labor we only have to worry about us and the pup. Good idea wait! You didn't carry that all by yourself did you? No your mom and Dee went with me She said shaking her head.

We made it to our offices and I sat down looking at a pile of folders on my desk. What are these? They are finances from the hotels you own and the restaurant in Paris. Oh ok I said. Everything looks on point I just left them sitting there I thought you might want to look at them. Thank you princess.

I own Hotels in California, Texas, Florida and Virginia they do well and really I don't have to visit them much. They are Human friendly but A lot of traveling wolves stay there. My restaurant in Paris was a fluke thing I had to visit for a meeting with some pack there and won it in a bet. Yes a bet. Some stupid Alpha bet me I couldn't resist the woman of Paris. He bet me I couldn't leave the land of love without 'hooking up", And If I did he would give me his restaurant and If I did "hook up" he got my 1969 Red Corvette. 

I was saving myself for my mate and I new it wasn't going to be a problem. I'm not gonna say it wasn't hard I had she-wolves throwing themselves at me and I was tempted but in the end I won. I think the guy just wanted out from underneath it cause boy was it a mess. It took me a year to start making money on the place. I shut the folders and put them in the file cabinet and leaned back in my chair. I drifted off to sleep until I was awoke by the phone ringing.
