CLARISSA'S POV
"I will not reject my mate, and you will take me in," I say, raising my chin to look more intimidating. "There's no room for further negotiations with you."
Diego lets out a short mocking laugh. "I see you want to have it both ways." He walks up to me and touches my chin. "It would be a waste not to take you in, since I'm already enchanted by this pretty face of yours. But you leave me no choice, as you are too weak to reject your mate."
"Not even if I'm willing to join hands with you and fight alongside you in your quests?" I ask, surprising Diego with my sudden proposal. The original plan was to follow him only to learn about my past, not to fight alongside him. But now I'm suggesting a different idea, hoping he'll be tempted to take me in even if I don't reject my mate
