Confused Debbie tried to squeeze herself through the tiny space left, since Alex's muscular frame is blocking the way. “Move” Debbie's voice came out rapsed.

And she made to take the second step when she slips and a hand grabs her and slams her to his chest hard! Before she could land on the floor.

She gasps at the force and opens her eyes to meet Alex's dark gaze on her.“Thhankk youu” Debbie stutters at their closeness but Alex remains silent.

“What were you doing at my company?” Alex questions ignoring her gratitude. Debbie moves backwards “I followed my friend there, she had an interview” she replied adjusting her gown.

Alex drops both hands into his pants pocket “ The rooftop is for employees only, why were you up there?” he further asked. Debbie clears her throat feeling embarrassed “ I lost my way to the restroom, but what happened to you?” She inquired.

Alex gaze darkens and he left without saying anything else leaving puzzled Debbie to herself. “He just left, again?.Who does he think he is? Prideful cock.” Debbie hissed.

Debbie left the restroom and got back to the girls, “I ain't eating here anymore” Debbie fumed,her eyes scanning the restaurant looking for a particular man.

“Why?, you brought us here remember and why do you look so pissed?” Zara asked. “Nothing,I just lost my appetite that's all. Now can we leave. I will make something for lunch when we get home” Debbie replied.

“Uhh I already saw a mouth watering meal on the menu you know, fine lets go” Zara sluggishly stood up. “Sis you really look angry,did something happen at the restroom?” Kate observed.

“No” Debbie responded and her eyes caught Alex, giving him a glare before marching out of the restaurant. “Hey wait up, why are you in such a hurry” Zara and Kate said simultaneously.

‘I have never been so ignored in my entire life not until today and not just once but twice!’ Debbie thought within herself. Zara waved down a taxi and they got inside, telling the cab driver their destination.

“Where did you disappear to,huh?” Jace asked Alex. And he just shrugged “ I went to the restroom, why haven't you ordered our food?” Alex asked. “You weren't here, anyway I ordered steak and a bottle of red wine. It should be here any minute now” Jace responded.

“Who was that lady, that you were looking at? You were even drooling man. I don't think I have ever seen you pay attention to any woman before” Jace chuckles. Alex straighten himself up “ she's the one I told you about at the office. I just-” he paused staring into space.

“Find her intriguing, I feel weirdly drawn to her. I don't know if it is because of what happened today.” Alex said lowly. “ Her friend got the job right?” He asked.

“Yeah, I told her to begin next week” Jace replied. “Alright we should be able to get some information about her from her friend.” Alex said and his phone rings, checking the caller to see that it's his mom.

He sighs “ it's mom, we are heading to the mansion immediately we are done” Alex said. Just then one of the waiter brought their orders.

“Good day, your meals gentlemen” the waiter bowed placing the meals on the table. looking at the men seated, the waiter gasped “Holy s**t! please can I get your autograph sir,you are such an amazing fashion designer and I love all your designs” she pleaded to Alex, but he remained silent.

“Sorry no autograph” Jace replied in his stead and the waiter left sadly. Jace knows how uncomfortable Alex gets around people. Because all they see is his accomplishments and all the power that he has gotten over the years.

That's the only reason people flock around him. They don't see the pains he goes through behind closed doors. They began eating.

“I wonder how grown Candice and Camile are right now” Jace said with a smile. Alex chuckles “yeah, me too it's been so long” Alex responded.

“Alright we should get going, aunt would be waiting for us” Jace said and rose to his feet. Alex rolls his eyes and follows suit “ Did you get my drugs? I don't want what happened this morning to repeat itself ” Alex suddenly asked.

“Yeah don't worry it's with me” Jace replied and dropped some cash for their meal. They left the restaurant to their car, Jace took the driver's seat and Alex sat at the front with him and they drove out of the place.

Debbie's Apartment

“Hmm this taste good Debs” Zara said savoring the food with her mouth full and eyes closed. “ Yes I totally agree with Zara, this chicken breast soup is top notch” Kate praised. Debbie chuckles “ I'm glad you guys are enjoying your meal.”

“ I'll be in my room, I feel exhausted” Debbie said and left to her room. “Well more soup for me!!” Zara said excitedly and ran to kitchen. “What! No way you are eating way too much and that soup is mine, you are gonna ruin your shape Miss model!” Kate screams running into the kitchen.

Debbie got to her room and tried to sleep but couldn't, the thought of Alex got to her head. She could still feel his eyes on her and how their bodies touched that only got her tensed.

“Those eyes seems to hide a lot of pain, but why was he hurting himself?” Debbie mumbled drifting to bed.

JEFFERSON MANSION

Jace drives reaching the gate, and it opens automatically with the guards by the corner. He drives in, the exterior designs are fascinating, the entire place looks like a fortress. You don't need a soothsayer to tell you how immensely wealthy the Jeffersons are.

Alex got out of the car and strides into the mansion, getting to the living room. He looked around the room and saw his sister “Hey panda” Alex calls out to his little sister. His sister who seems to be struggling with her book, snaps her head at the familiar voice.

“Big bro?” She questions unbelievably with her eyes wide open. Alex gives a little smile walking closer to her “ Won't you give me a hug” He said.

And she stood up, running into her brother's arms happily. “ Geez big bro I have missed you so much, I thought you won't ever come back” Camile pouted.

Alex chuckles “ I have missed you too my panda” he replied. “So where is Candice?” He asked scanning the entire space. “Well he will be back,he just went out” Camile responded.

“ What about mom?” He further asked, his tone a bit shaky. “She's upstairs and she hasn't been out for days now” Camile replied sadly. Alex hugs her “ I will go see her now and she will be fine, okay?” Alex said and she nods lightly.

Alex left his sister and walks up the stairs heading to his mother's room, his thoughts disarray. Just to think his entire life changed in this very house and now he's back here. He could feel chills rushing through his entire body. It's been so many years since the night of the accident. The horror, the pain.
