Chapter 1 "The Night of the Falling Star"ntitled Episode
The roar of battle echoed through the three regions and floated into the red clouds above the sea parade. The moon hung overhead, its red light fighting against the smoke rising from the burning room. The night was filled with cries - the cries of children, the clapping of mothers, the screeching of iron. Una woke up with a pounding heart. She could feel the tension in the air as if the ground itself was holding its breath. Her small hands trembled as she pushed back the heavy curtains beside the bed, her blue eyes narrowed as she looked at the blood splatter outside the window. She didn't know what was happening - but she knew it was bad. Suddenly the door opened and Una's mother entered the room, pale but determined. Without saying a word, she hugged Una tightly and convincingly. "Mom, what's wrong?" Una's voice is not a whisper. Una's eyes froze as her mother hugged her tightly. "Shh, don't worry, baby. Everything will be fine. But when she touched her, her words became slurred and her mother's hands trembled and she quickly locked the door, her eyes full of fear, the ongoing war outside." She knelt and held Una's eyes, her blue eyes burning with motherly love, just like Una's. "I want you to close your eyes and never open them, promise me?" Una nodded without hesitation. Holding her mother's neck as if it could shield her from the horrors outside. Her mother had her head in her arms, her breathing was weak but steady. There had been a lot of noise last night. It hits like a long shot. But Una's mother was adamant. She left the room, the rain pouring down her hair and skirts. Her legs carried her quickly, with only one thought: to protect Una. The air was filled with the cries of the dead and the wounded, but Una's mother did not give up. She ignored the meaningless cries and pleas of the others. Her only concern now was Una. There was a scream in the distance - the blood of her brothers and sisters stained the ground. She bit her lip and ran away quickly, jumping over the bodies on the ground, her heart pounding. Her breath caught in her throat as she stumbled over the fallen warrior. but she regained her footing just in time. She would go to the forest. To safety. Then she heard it. Footsteps. The man behind her. Her heart stopped, and she turned and saw: her husband, Una's father, standing tall, his eyes fierce and loving, his words a mixture of relief and pain. "You're almost there," he said, his voice like thunder. Una's mother collapsed into his arms momentarily, gasping for air. "You should have gone with her, you know," her voice trailed off. Una's father smiled, even as the weight of the battle darkened his eyes. "I can't leave you," he pulled her close, pressing his lips to her forehead, his eyes softening, the warmth between them palpable even in the chaos. "You and Una are nothing but trouble." Before she could reply, "They're there! Kill them!" Time was broken. His wife, his love, changed in an instant, his muscles atrophied, and he became a giant wolf with brown fur and red eyes. He shouted, approached the soldiers, and his majestic figure disappeared into the battlefield. Una's mother took a deep breath and moved her feet hard into the forest - the forest of the Shadow pack. I would reach there. For Una. But then, a great pain pierced his heart like a knife. He grasped his heart and stopped dying. His wife - his relationship with her was over. He turned around sharply, and his vision blurred. He was beaten. "No," he said, and his soul carried him stumbling toward her. But it was too late. Another shot hit her mate and he fell to the ground in pain. Her heart was broken, and she felt his pain as if it were her own. "No!" she cried, falling on her knees beside him. Her wolf, a red wolf, growled, moving in the moonlight to her husband, trying to save him, trying to stop the bleeding. Her mate's eyes flickered, narrowed her eyes and gave him one last look. "Come, my love... take Una... she needs you..." Tears blurred her vision as she held his hand, but it was too late. His fingers fell into her body, his body cold. he gave his all for their family - and now he's gone. "No!" Her voice cracked as she pressed her forehead against his, their relationship over, their love fading away. The world around her seemed to stand still as she was surrounded by wild horsemen. "She's just a girl," one of them sneered, "and if she went to the forest, Let's get her." Una's mother turned, her red wolf as she walked into the shadows Her eyes sparkled with ancient anger, but she was not alone. Her husband's heart remained strong, and in his deep grief, he found the strength to carry on. Una was running in the forest, her little feet touching the wet ground. The moon shone on her path, guiding her through the woods. But the sound of horse hooves behind her made her heart beat wildly. She stumbled on a stone, her ankle twisting painfully, but she forced herself to keep going. “No, I can’t stop,” she whispered through clenched teeth. “I can’t stop. Mummy and Daddy… they’re coming for me.” But just as she reached a clearing, an arrow shot through the air, grazing her leg. She cried out in pain as she fell, clutching her bleeding wound. “Please…” she whispered. But the shadow of the horsemen loomed closer, their dark faces filled with malice. The moment felt endless—until the unmistakable sound of boots came from behind her. Her heart skipped as a figure appeared from the shadows, cutting down the rogue soldiers with swift, lethal precision. A warrior from her pack. Una blinked in disbelief as she was scooped into strong arms, her head resting on the warrior’s chest. The moonlight caught her tears as they both disappeared into the forest, leaving the past—and her parents—behind.
