Episode 4 Meet the Johnson Brothers

In this episode, Zack receives a surprise from Caroline and her friends—an old picture from a cherished memory in a club from the past. Meanwhile, the Johnson Brothers, Adrian and Brayden, make an appearance. Adrian is all dressed up for a date, while his brother Brayden chooses not to join. Zack is also surprised to reunite with his friends and they spend time together.

It's Saturday, a holiday. The chapter begins with Zack engrossed in playing Xbox 360 Split Second. Someone knocks on the door.

Emily enters.

Emily: Oh, hi Bob.

Bob: Hi.

Bob lies down on the couch.

Bob: What a day.

Emily: Why? And why did Andy come home so early?

Bob: It's my day off, and I could really use a nap.

Emily: Alright, well, I'll get the bed ready.

Bob: Thank you, babe.

Emily and Bob share a kiss.

Meanwhile, Adrian and Brayden make an appearance in their backyard. Adrian is dressed elegantly in a blazer jacket and sunglasses.

Adrian: Whoa! I'm looking quite fancy. How do I look, Brayden?

Brayden: Whatever, do your thing.

Brayden is immersed in a book.

Adrian's mother, Nova Johnson, approaches him.

Nova: Wow, looking sharp, Adrian. Where are you off to?

Adrian: Oh, I've got a date.

Brayden: (smirks) First I heard of that.

Nova: Oh, that's sweet. Who's the lucky girl?

Adrian: She's more beautiful than words can describe. Like a princess.

Nova: How lovely. She's lucky to have you.

Adrian: Well, wish me luck, Mom.

Nova: And remember, if things go away, Mommy's here.

Adrian: (laughs) Mom, I'm not a baby anymore. I can handle it.

Nova: Alright then, best of luck.

Adrian heads out.

Meanwhile, Emily knocks on Zack's door.

Zack: Come in.

Emily: Hi, baby. You have a visitor.

Zack: Yeah, okay. I'll be right there.

Emily closes the door.

Emily went downstairs.

Emily: Just stay put on the couch. He'll be here in a moment.

Jolie: Sure, no problem.

Ava: No worries.

Aria: Yeah, that's fine.

Caroline: (laughs)

As Zack plays, he suddenly takes the lead.

Zack: Still the best, even when I'm competing against those fastest cars.

Zack: This game never gets old. (laughs)

Zack tidies up his bed and turns off the Xbox.

Zack: There we go, all neat and tidy.

Zack heads downstairs and is pleasantly surprised.

Zack: Well, I'm surprised to see you all here.

Jolie, Ava, and Aria stand up.

Jolie, Ava, Aria: Hey, Zack.

Caroline: (laughs)

Caroline stands up too.

Caroline: Hey, Zack.

Zack: Hey, guys. What's going on?

Jolie: We wanted to give you something.

Jolie hands Zack a gift.

Zack: Wow, what's this?

Caroline: (laughs) Open it up.

Ava: Yeah, (laughs) go on, open it.

Aria: Open, open, open!

Zack: (laughs)

Zack unwraps the gift, revealing a picture of them together, along with a heartfelt thank-you note.

Zack smiles.

Zack: Thanks, guys.

Jolie: You're welcome. We've missed you since you left the club.

Aria: Yeah, we really want you to come back.

Ava pinches Aria.

Aria: Ow!

Ava: (whispering) I don't think that's a good idea considering what happened after he left.

Aria: (whispering) Oh, right.

Zack: (laughs) You know what? How about we all go out? My treat.

Aria: Seriously!?

Zack: Yup, what do you say?

Jolie, Aria, Ava: Yay!

Caroline and Zack: (laughs)

Meanwhile, Isabella and Emma have a video call on f*******:.

Isabella: So, I was there in the audience waiting. I even tried to talk to the guard. I said, "Please let me in! I just want a picture with One Direction." But they kicked me out by shoving me through the door.

Emma: (laughs) Classic.

Emma's stomach rumbles.

Isabella: Did I just hear your stomach growl?

Emma: Uh, yeah. I guess I better eat soon.

Isabella: No need, my mom's making turkey and a green bean salad with onions.

Emma: Oh, sounds great. I'll ask my mom if she wants to join us.

Isabella: Even better, it's almost like Thanksgiving dinner.

Emma: (laughs) Yeah. Well, I should go help her.

Isabella: Okay, catch you later.

Emma: Yeah, see you.

Meanwhile, at the FreshFlip Coffee Shop, Zack and Caroline finish their meal.

Aria: (burps) Oops. (laughs) Sorry.

Zack and Caroline: (laughs).

Zack: You guys really have a thing for this restaurant, huh? Ever since we first set foot here.

Caroline: Yeah. I mean, Jolie never stopped coming here. She practically dragged me along. (laughs)

Zack: (laughs)

Jolie: (sipping coffee) Hey, it wasn't me. It was Aria. She's the one with the insatiable appetite here, eating and drinking like an animal.

Aria: (chewing a tuna sandwich) Hey! I heard that.

Jolie: What? It's true, isn't it?

Aria: (spits while chewing) And what about you? You eat salads and those tuna sandwiches.

Jolie: Hey, I have a daily meal plan.

Zack and Caroline: (laughs).

Zack: You guys never change.

Caroline: (laughs) By the way, what time is it?

Aria: (chewing) Hmm, it's 10:45.

Caroline: What?

Aria: (swallows) It's 10:45.

Caroline: Alright, well, we have practice later at the auditorium. For now, guys, finish up your food, and then we'll head over.

Zack: Why do you have another competition?

Caroline: Yep. But this time, it's going to be tough.

Zack: Sounds exciting. Well, good luck to all of you.

Caroline: Thanks.

Zack and Caroline exchange smiles.

Aria: Hey, you guys look great together.

Jolie pinches Aria.

Aria: Ow! Hey!

Jolie: Watch your mouth.

Aria: What? What did I do?

Caroline: It's alright, Jolie. I get it. I admit I'm somewhat attracted to Zack. But it's more like a brotherly feeling.

Zack: (laughs) Yeah, I consider her a sister too, especially since she was open about her feelings for me.

Caroline: (laughs) Well, it's almost 11. Come on, guys, let's get going.

Zack: It's been a blast, Caroline.

Caroline: Definitely. We should do this again sometime.

Aria: Oh my god. (teary-eyed) Am I the only one getting emotional here?

Jolie: Cut the drama, seriously.

Zack, Caroline, and Ava: (laughs).

Caroline: Alright, everyone, let's head out.

Caroline and the others stand up from their chairs.

As Jolie, Ava, and Aria are about to leave:

Aria: (teary) These tears of joy, they're real.

Jolie: Oh, come on. Don't be such a baby.

Zack, Caroline: (laughs).

Zack: So?

Caroline waves goodbye to him.

As he watches her go…

Meanwhile, Adrian struts his stuff, dancing and complimenting people as he walks. He enters a flower shop, purchases some roses, and dances away.

Meanwhile, Emma and her mother knock on the door.

Knock, knock.

Isabella opens the door.

Isabella: Hey! Welcome, welcome. Come on in.

Emma: Wow, your house is incredibly unique.

Isabella: Thanks.

Emma: So, where's the kitchen?

Isabella: Oh, it's out back in our garden.

Emma: Okay.

Emma and her mother head to the backyard.

Emma: This backyard is really something, and the food looks amazing—so neat and beautifully presented.

Isabella: Yeah, my mom and the maids took care of it, just in case…

Emma: Wow.

As Emma reaches for the food…

Emma: Impressive.

Isabella playfully slaps Emma's hand.

Isabella: Ah-ah, no touching until my parents arrive.

Emma: (laughs) Oops, sorry.

Emma's mother, Alisa, interrupts.

Alisa: Excuse me, where's the bathroom? I need to use it.

Emma: (laughs).

Isabella: Just over there.

Alisa: Thank you.

Alisa hurried to the bathroom.

Emma: (laughs)

Isabella: What's so funny?

Emma: Oh, nothing. It's just that every time we visit someone special to her, she always seems to need to take a bathroom break.

Isabella: (laughs) And what's wrong with that?

Emma: (laughs) Nothing.

Meanwhile, Zack leaves the FreshFlip Coffee Shop and hails a cab.

When the taxi stops, he says:

Zack: Jones MegaMall.

Taxi Driver: Hop in.

Zack gets into the cab, and the cab pulls away.

Back at Isabella's house…

Her parents return.

Mrs. Ford: Hey, there's my little Issie.

Isabella: (laughs) Hi, Mom.

Isabella's Mother: (laughs)

Isabella: Mom, this is my friend Emma. Emma, meet my mom.

Emma: Hi, it's very nice to meet you, Mrs. Ford.

Emma shakes her hand.

Mrs. Ford: (laughs) Nice to meet you too.

When Emma's mother comes out of the bathroom:

Alisa: Hey, what's going on here?

Isabella: Oh, Mrs. Smith, meet my mother.

Alisa: Oh, nice to meet you, Mrs. Ford.

Mrs. Ford: (laughs) Nice to meet you too.

Isabella: Um, Mom, where's Dad?

Mrs. Ford: Oh, he's out. Just getting some medicine.

Isabella: Oh, okay.

Mrs. Ford: Alright, take your seats. Emma and Ms...?

Alisa: Oh, call me Alisa.

Mrs. Ford: Okay, Alisa. Take your seats. Now we'll wait for Isabella's father.

Meanwhile, Zack finally arrives at Jones MegaMall.

Zack pays the driver, and the driver leaves.

As Zack walks around the mall, he encounters a wide range of stores, from supermarkets on the first floor to the 23rd floor. The building even has a parking area at the back, spanning from the first to the third floor. While Zack is exploring, he unexpectedly runs into his old friends.

Ben: Hey Zack! Psst! Hey!

Zack turns around.

Ben: Hey, it's Zack!

Cedrick: Where?

Ben: Over there!

Cedrick: Well then, let's go.

Ben leaves Aiden and Rod sitting in their chairs, engrossed in their science physics book. Ben rushes over to Zack.

Ben: Hey, Zack.

Cedrick: Hey, man.

Zack: Hey, guys. What's—

Cedrick shushes Zack.

Cedrick: (singing) Welcome to The Jones MegaMall!

Cedrick showcases the entire mall, as people around them smile and laugh.

Zack: (smirks) Thanks.

Cedrick: You're welcome

.

Cedrick bows playfully to Zack.

Ben: (laughs) Anyways, what are you doing here?

Zack: Uh, nothing. Just wanted to do some shopping.

Ben: Oh, I see. After that, why don't you come hang out with us?

Zack: What? You guys really want to hang out with me?

Ben: Yeah, right, Cedrick?

Cedrick: Yeah.

Zack: What about your other friends?

Cedrick: It's fine. They've already met you.

Ben: Yeah, that's true. So, is that a yes?

Zack: Yeah, sure. Why not? I'm cool with it.

Ben and Cedrick: Yay!

Zack: (laughs)

So, Zack and his new friends gather around in the mall.

Meanwhile, back at Isabella's house…

The four of them engage in conversation while they eat.

Mrs. Ford: (laughs) So, what do you do for a living, Alisa?

Alisa: Oh, I'm an environmentalist. I work to raise awareness.

Emma: Yeah, my mom is really passionate about helping the environment.

Mrs. Ford: Oh, that's a wonderful job. Well, my husband and I work with children in the hospital.

Alisa: Oh, really? What do you both do?

Mrs. Ford: I handle the children's medical needs, and my husband provides therapy for them.

Alisa: Wow, that's truly commendable work.

Mrs. Ford: Thank you.

Emma: (eating) Hmm, Mrs. Ford, this food is incredibly delicious.

Isabella: (laughs) You're really enjoying that, Emma.

Alisa: Yes, she is. Emma gets quite hungry when the food is this good.

Emma: (laughs) Thank you, Mrs. Ford.

Mrs. Ford: Please, call me Angeline, and my husband is Arthur.

Arthur: Pleased to meet you.

Angeline and Arthur: (laughs)

Meanwhile, a dancing Adrian walks past the door and rings the doorbell. As he stands in front of the door, he quickly combs his hair and prepares for his date.

The mother of Adrian's date opens the door.

Mother: Oh, hello. Oh, she's not here yet. She's quite busy.

Adrian: Oh, alright then.

Mother: How about you come in and wait for her?

Adrian: Okay, sure.

As Adrian steps into the house, he looks around.

Adrian: Wow, I didn't realize your family was successful as well.

Mother: Yes, well, her father made this house really unique.

The mother pours a glass of juice.

Mother: Here you go.

Adrian: Oh, thanks. Thank you.

Adrian drinks the juice.

Adrian: Whoa! This is really good. Thank you, Mrs...?

Mother: Oh, just call me Ms. Emilia.

Adrian: Okay, Ms. Emilia.

Suddenly, the father enters.

Father: Hello, I'm home.

Emilia: Hi, honey.

Adrian: Ah, so this must be the father?

Father: And you must be the date. Nice to meet you. Your name?

Adrian: Oh, it's Adrian. Adrian Jonas Johnson.

Father: Ah, nice to meet you, Adrian. I'm George, but you can call me Mr. Hutton.

Adrian: Oh, well, it's nice to meet you.

George smiles and shakes Adrian's hand.

Adrian: (thinking to himself) Men, this family is really nice. I hope this date goes well for me too.

Back at the Jones Mega Mall, the g**g gathers around the supermarket while Zack is selecting a soft drink.

Zack: What do you think is better?

Rod: Um, I think this one will do.

Zack: Hey, do you want some too?

Rod: Yeah, sure. Aiden wants some too.

Aiden: Yeah, I'd like some as well.

Zack gets two soft drinks and hands them to Aiden and Rod.

Meanwhile, Cedrick and Ben…

Cedrick: Yahoo! Yeah!

Cedrick starts riding on the grocery cart's wheel, and Ben joins him.

Ben: Yahoo! Yeah, baby!

Cedrick: Whoo! Yeah!

Ben: Yeah! Whoo!

Suddenly, a security guard spots them.

Guard: Hey! What do you think you're doing?

Cedrick: Uh-oh. Wheel away!

Ben: Come on!

Cedrick and Ben quickly wheel away, and the guard chases after them.

Meanwhile, Zack, Rod, and Aiden continue walking around the store.

Rod: So, what do you do for fun?

Zack: Well, I play video games, exercise…

Aiden: What kind of games do you play?

Cedrick wheels around behind them as the guard chases him.

Zack: (laughs) Well, I've played NBA 2K14, Split Second, GTA V, Call of Duty Black—

Aiden: Wait, you play Call of Duty Black Ops?

Ben wheels around behind them.

Zack: Yeah, why? Do you play it too?

Aiden: Yeah, it's one of the coolest games I've ever had on my computer.

Zack: Oh, okay. And what about you, Rod?

Rod: I just play some darts.

Aiden: That's kind of lame, man.

Rod: Well, it helps me relax.

Cedrick and Ben wheel around behind them.

Cedrick: Wahoo! This is fun!

Ben: Yeah! Hey, let's keep going!

As they continue wheeling around the grocery store, they suddenly run into other customers. The guard surprises them.

Guard: Gotcha.

Cedrick: Uh-oh. Get ready to let go.

Ben: Wait, what?

Cedrick: One.

Ben: Wait?

Cedrick: Two.

Ben: Oh no.

Cedrick: Three.

Cedrick and Ben let go of the grocery cart wheel, and they start to run away. Meanwhile, Zack, Rod, and Aiden head to the cashier to pay for their items. Cedrick and Ben try to escape from the guards

Cedrick: Come on!

The guards eventually catch them.

Ben: Uh-oh.

Guards: You're coming with us.

Aiden spots Ben and Cedrick.

Aiden: Hey, isn't that Ben and Cedrick with the guards?

Zack: Wait, what? How did this happen? Come on!

Guards: You have the right to remain silent.

Cedrick and Ben are visibly frightened. Suddenly, Zack pays for the groceries and rushes over to them.

Zack: Hey, what's going on here?

Guard: Hey, kid, back off. These two are coming with us.

Cedrick and Ben: No, please.

Zack: Hey, I'm not done talking yet.

Guard: Do you have a problem, kid?

Zack: I suggest you let go of my friends. And I will tell my father.

Guard: Oh, yeah? And who is he?

Zack: He's a cop, and he recently got promoted to Major.

Guard: Oh, well, then what are you going to do about it?

Zack: I'm going to sue you for child a***e.

Guard: What? No, please, you can't do that.

Zack: Oh yes, I can.

Guard: I'm really sorry for this. These kids were just goofing off in the store.

Zack: Why didn't you just tell them that their behavior isn't appropriate here?

Guard: Oh, okay. I'm truly sorry, kids. And, wait, aren't you Duncan Johnson's son?

Zack: Yes he is.

Guard: Nice to meet you.

The guard shakes Cedrick's hand.

Guard: I apologize for the trouble. I promise I won't do it again.

Zack: Alright, now if you'll excuse us, we have things to do.

Guard: Okay, go ahead.

Zack and his friends walk away from the guard.

Cedrick: Thanks, Zack.

Zack: Hmph. You don't need to thank me. You're okay. But next time, don't cause any trouble. Be responsible.

Cedrick: Yeah, okay.

Zack: Hmph. Come on.

Zack leaves the grocery store with Aiden, Rod, and Ben.

Cedrick: But that was fun too.

Ben: Yeah, it was really fun, but also risky.

Zack: (smirks) Come on, let's go.

Zack and his friends share a laugh.

Back at Isabella's house...

After all the food is finished, the maids begin cleaning up. Emma and Alisa are outside talking to Isabella and Angeline.

Alisa: It was really fun, and I genuinely appreciate the lunch you gave us.

Angeline: (laughs) No problem, it was all Isabella's idea.

Isabella: (laughs)

Emma: (laughs)

Alisa: Anyway, you'll call me?

Alisa gives Emilia her number.

Angeline: Oh, thanks. I'll call you. (laughs)

Alisa: (laughs) Well, let's go, Emma.

Emma: Bye, Issie. Thanks for the lunch.

Isabella: (laughs) No problem.

Angeline: (laughs) It was nice meeting both of you.

Alisa: (laughs) Thank you. It was nice meeting you too.

Alisa and Emma leave the front of the house.

Angeline: So, how long have you been friends with Emma?

Isabella: Oh, we're actually batchmates since the first grade.

Angeline: Wow, I bet she's just as special as you. (laughs)

Isabella: (laughs)

Angeline: Come on, let's go inside.

Isabella and Emilia go back into the house.

Meanwhile, back at Jones Mega Mall, the g**g is at the Burrito stand enjoying their food.

Zack: (eating) Wow, these burritos are so good.

Cedrick: Thanks, they're the best here in the mall.

Ben: (chewing) These are really delicious.

Zack: (smirks) Hey, don't talk with your mouth full.

Zack, Rod, and Aiden: (laughs)

Cedrick: Anyways, you guys wanna watch a movie after this?

Ben: Yeah, sure.

Zack: Hm, I agree.

Cedrick: Cool, nice. What kind of movie?

Aiden: I think I want to watch "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay."

Ben: Nah, I was thinking more like "Pixels."

Cedrick: What!? That movie is for kids. How about a horror film, like, um, uh, "Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse"?

Ben: Oh no, we're not watching that.

Cedrick: Why not? Because you're too scared of horror movies?

Zack: Hey, that's enough. Why don't we decide on a movie afterward? Let's finish our food first.

Cedrick: Hey, that's a good idea, Zack.

Ben: Yeah, nice one.

Zack: (laughs)

Back at Emilia and George's house, they are playing a role-playing Monopoly game with Adrian.

Emilia: Oh, I'm going to jail.

Adrian: (laughs)

Arthur: Oh, look at me. Having a lot of money. Whoo!

Adrian and Emilia: (laughs)

Emilia and George's daughter finally arrives.

Adrian turns around and becomes mesmerized.

Emilia: Oh, Camilia, you're here.

Camilia: Yeah, whatever.

Adrian rushes over to her.

Adrian: Hi, I'm Adrian. You remember, right? (winks at her)

Camilia: (smiles) Yeah, I remember you. I'll be right with you after I change.

Camilia pops her shoulder.

Emilia: Oh, Camilia, do you need any help?

Camilia: Thanks, Mom, but I'm good.

Meanwhile, back at Jones Mega Mall...

The g**g leaves the Burrito Stand and heads to the third floor of the building, walking toward the movie theater. As they walk, they notice construction workers.

Ben: Whoa, why are there construction workers here?

Cedrick: There's going to be a fashion shop there.

Ben: Oh, I totally forgot about that. Did I really forget it?

Zack, Rod, Aiden: (laughs)

Cedrick: Are you a forgetful man? Because I can tell you forgot all about our mall.

Rod, Aiden: (laughs)

Ben: Hey, I didn't forget; I just didn't tell you, Dad.

Cedrick: Yeah, whatever.

Zack: Alright, guys, enough already. Now I'm going to choose the movie we're going to watch.

Cedrick: Huh? What is it? Heh?

Ben: Yeah, what is it?

Zack: We're going to watch "Fantastic Four."

Ben: Whoa!

Cedrick: I heard Michael B. Jordan is in it, the Fireboy. Wait, what's his name again?

Zack: (laughs) Human Torch.

Cedrick: Oh, right, Human Torch. My bad.

Zack, Aiden, Rod: (laughs)

Zack and the others share laughter and smiles.

Zack: Come on, let's go get the tickets.

Zack and the others order popcorn and drinks, with Cedrick offering to pay for it all. In the end, they all watch the movie together, laughing and enjoying the experience.
