Chapter 26

"Ding dong!" Julius kicked the door open before they enter the place. They exchanged looks after emptiness greets them. Five of them scattered around, expecting the sudden attack.

"What she's trying to do?" Julius asked Zachary who's watching the girl as she walks towards the fireplace.

"She's up to something." He smiled despite the explosion outside that emits blinding light for everyone who sees it, "Just let her."

"Hands up, Lady Marionette." Mira pulled out a golden gun from her pocket and aimed at the space beside the fireplace.

"Hands up?" Marionette appears, back facing Mira's gun. The lady looked at the remains of the book then lowered herself to reach it, "Jairus throw my book easily. He doesn't know how many minutes I wasted just to create this."

"But I'm fascinated how you figure that out easily. Out of the hundred students, the five of you are the group who found me first." Marionette smiled as she turned to see Mira.

"Where are those two?" Marionette's terrifying gaze got averted at Freddy. He gulped then held the bow and arrow tightly.

He exchanged looks with Zachary and the shifter faced the principal. The elf sense something with that cheeky smile. His eyes widened and shoots the arrow in front of Mira. She points her hand at the floor, calling the five white puppets.

"Mira stay away from her! It's a trap!" A white puppet with the same size as a human pulled him by his neck. Despite how loud Freddy yelled, Mira stayed standing in front of Marionette; dazed. Zachary runs to Mira to put her away from Marionette. He taps her face to wake her up from her trance. Marionette smirked after the sharp ice spikes spread from Zachary's feet. It pierced to the dolls that rushing to them.

"Did I say this will be easy?" She used her arm to prevent Mattheo's lethal bite on his lion form after he pounced. Mattheo let her go and jumped away just to distract her.

"You never mentioned that Lady Marionette," Julius replied before snapping ice spikes that Zachary created. He looked at the shifter, baring his fangs as he smiled, "We'll distract Lady Marionette. Make sure to protect her."

"Sucker." Zachary retorted.

Freddy shoots the arrow to another puppet rising from the ground. He rushed to Mattheo who's dealing with five. The elf kicked the one behind its head and stepped on it. He watched how the vampire stabbed those puppets.

Zachary summoned ice spikes to the air and showered them to the puppets coming for Mira.

"Never keep your eyes away from me," Marionette said while pointing the dagger at Mira's neck. Zachary and the other men in the room stopped and looked at her with wide eyes. The tip on the blade is pressed on her neck and once Marionette pushed it more, her neck will bleed.

"Mira!"

"That's a foul play!"

"Stay away from her," Zachary growls.

"Why would I? This is not over yet." The window broke down into million pieces behind the principal. She got stunned after someone pulled her by her neck and clank of the gun ring through her ears, "It is, Lady Marionette."

"Chivalry." Mira smirked then pushed the gun on her temple more, "One and only."

Marionette looked at the girl she's holding. It's not a girl anymore, it's a full-grown man standing taller than her.

"Ifrit."

"Don't move, you want me to shoot you using this one?" Mira threatened.

"You got the correct angle, Lance." Salem gives her brother a high five while sitting at the hills of puppets. Kellion landed on his feet and sit beside her, "For a grand entrance, why not?"

"This....is not over." The siblings looked in the direction where the distorted and giant puppet is standing.

"Isn't that an actual win-win situation for Lady Marionette's students, Lady Selene?" Selene looked at the teacher beside her who's watching the students at the giant window, "I don't think so, Lady Augustine."

"I hear that five students from your class are also participating." The lady said and clapped slowly. Lady Selene remained her gaze darted at happenings outside. She'd rather do that instead of paying attention to another teacher standing behind her. She knows that entertaining her might lose her patience.

"Bravo, Lady Selene!" Lady Selene coldly glanced at the lady's reflection in the mirror. Lady Augustine gasped and looked at the lady with admiration. The lady's plastic giggle annoys her the most. Selene calmed herself down then turned at her with a lopsided smile.

"Lady Lyra, you look so stunning today." She can't lie. Lady Lyra's white and flowy long hair and glamorous face say it all.

"So as you, Lady Selene. What's the current situation by the way?" Lady Selene is about to speak up when the siren rings after a blue flame takes over to the building and an explosion occurs not far from where they are.

"What the..." She whispered after all of the debris that soaring in their direction got halted in the mid-air. Lady Selene uttered profanities on her head as she saw Mira standing beside Salem and Kellion. Freddy shoots an arrow to the massive debris, causing the vines to pin it to the ground.

"Zachary it's your turn!" Mira yelled, "Ellis and I can't hold it any longer!"

"On it, Ma'am!" Zachary touches the ground and leaves the rest of the teachers at the establishment to gasp in shock. Giant blizzards sprung up from the ground and stopped the stones as Mira and Ellistal don't hold them anymore.

"Who are they? We have never seen students with that abilities before."

"Hold up, what's with that explosion earlier?"

"There's a harpy studying here?"

"Where's the culprit?" Mira asked Zachary.

"She's here!" Julius escorted the lady to walk. Mira and the others uttered vulgarities on their minds after the giant hundred-legged insects sprung from the ground. He pulled the principal away from the spell that she created. Mattheo glared at Marionette who's grinning in mischief.

Mattheo runs away from the vampire then throws the sword he's holding that pierces the monster's head. It screams in agony and turned to him. Mira and the elf move to the away.

"Step back, Lion. I'll handle it." He watched Salem's back as she walks towards the creature. It shots acid in her direction, leaving everyone in a panic.

"Come on, puppets can't kill me." She pulls the sword before letting it turn into a tall and hooded person. It bows then shifted into a moth, "Go back to your master now."

Now, she turned at the insect with a cold gaze. Without a blink of an eye, blue flames devoured the creature and turned it to ashes. The siren rings, indicating that the exam is finally over. Salem stepped out to flame and dust off her uniform to extinguish the remains of the fire. Mira rushed to hug her tightly, leaving the younger speechless.

"You did great, Salem."
