Chapter 21

"Could you please stop blabbering like a hen struggling to make her egg comes out?" Ellistal said while glaring at Kellion who's threatening some of them---that includes Mira, he's saying that he'll go to kill them. She looked at Zachary and Salem who's standing in front of the giant door. The giant door of the unknown room showed them inside while Ellistal, Mira, and the others are waiting on the outside. She is confused with everything around her inside the campus now and she's blaming herself for being nonchalant that she'll only take the paths she used to take before. "Why we're here again?" Mira asked the two shifters in front of her. Mattheo, Julius, and Freddy are standing in front of them like they're guilty individuals caught for some crimes. "Waiting." / "To fill up your heads." Zachary furrowed his brow at Salem and slapped her shoulder. He cleared his throat then give Salem a glare for the last time. "The school's library, we're here to teach you about this world." Kellion glared at Zachary while Salem muttered some words. Mira smiled awkwardly, she's not foolish to not sense that they don't want to be with each other. "I'm making this one clear," She massages her temples, "Lana will only allow you to borrow books. After she did that, we'll go to Zachary's place to study there." Salem said. She's staring at their failing quiz papers again. Judging by how she looked at their papers, she's saying something on her mind that even Mira nor any of them can't hear. How did they find out about this? Mira's point of view "Today we're having a sporadic exam." I gulped while looking at Lady Selene who's writing something on the paper using her ink and quill. She snapped her fingers and the papers appear in front of us. "To avoid cheating, we provide different questions for all of you. No using magic or mind links." I started to panic mentally and physically while staring at the paper. What. In. The. World. Is. This? I do know what to answer. They're ruthless for putting just those questions without multiple choices. I want to cry at the moment even I'm staring at the paper. I don't listen to every lecture nor even flip my book open. I'm being extremely carefree and don't care about studying since I'm taking missions that'll help me be exempted from every quiz they have but that ends me up at this position. It leaves me desperate and wanting to weep at this moment. Salem is the one who stood up first before Zachary followed her until it ends up the three of us. I looked at Julius after he throw me the crumpled paper. 'Do you know the answer?' He mouthed. I furrowed my brows and give him a questioning gesture. 'I don't have either, the questions given are different!' He scratched his nape and smiled at me. Julius averted his gaze at Mattheo. The boy he's asking help for is staring at his paper hopelessly. At this moment, I want to say; 'Julius, we came from the human world so don't expect an answer from us goddamnit!' yet instead of wasting time for that, I swallowed the lump on my throat and write random things on my mind. I'm making things that'll result in me nothing but future scolding by my mother. The exam result comes out within the day and like I'd expected, I failed like Mattheo and Julius. We didn't expect the harpy to fail the exam either. Zachary and Salem received an order to help us study to prevent failing again after we retake it. "Wow! I've never seen this answer before!" Salem gasped and scanned then looked on it again, "It's the most stupid that I've ever seen. What are you? A kindergarten?" She asked while looking at Kellion. The harpy scowled at her but got dragged by Julius away. They're about to argue when the double doors open. Zachary smiled at me before holding my hand. A small girl stepped out and looked at us from head to toe. She's wearing eyeglasses and a student's uniform. Her hair had white streaks that shows up after she tied it into a ponytail. "Hey, Lana." Julius waved at her reluctantly. The child-looking girl that he addressed as Lana grimaced then averted her attention to the two shifters standing in front of us, "Lord Zachary and Lady Salem." She bowed at both of them before opening the doors wide. "How can I help you?" She asked while eyeing me after noticing Zachary's hand clasping on mine. Lana grinned at me. "Lana, we're here for our books," Zachary replied. He leaned on me, "That's Lana Rilenhart, the librarian. You don't need to worry since she's nice." "Come in," She motioned us to go inside then she started to search for their books on the shelves. "Let me guess, failed?" Five of us looked away in guilt and Lana chuckled in response. She caught us off guard. "It's my fault, I know, but I can't blame myself, I came from the other dimension and studied here like going into a war with a small rock as a weapon," I explained. Lana placed the pile on the top of her table then looked at me in amusement. "Why don't you ask for his help? His scent is all over you," Lana gets closer to me and sniffed me while Zachary growled, "You're his claim? You haven't bonded yet it's strong." Salem covered her mouth then dragged her away from me. She protested as she got dragged but when she founds out that Salem is the one who's dragging her, Lana give the strings of her apology. We leave the library in silence and headed to Zachary's place. Zachary and Salem slammed the books on the table and looked at the five of us. Salem didn't speak a word and sat between me and Mattheo. Zachary cleared his throat and looked at the five of us one by one. He decided to teach me and Freddy. Julius, Mattheo, and Kellion got assigned to Salem. Three of them can't even move a muscle or complain since every attempt, they receive harsh words. Kellion's threat and insult say nothing against hers. "I understand that every inch of this world is vague to you, Mira. But why did you forget about the examination? The Lutheran games are ahead, we can't just let some of us fail."
