Chapter 15

"Freddy and Matt," Mira called her two roommates who've been silenced since they arrived. When she tried to talk to Freddy, he walks away while Mattheo is not a problem for her, it's a considerable one.

"What happened to both of you?"

"He's always quiet and I'm just tired." Freddy smiled. They're now just waiting for Freddy to find his necktie since they got a new uniform.

"Can I have a word for both of you before we leave?" Mattheo looked at her while Freddy stopped moving around after he found his necktie. Mira looked at the both of them with a serious expression held on her face, "About what happened to that ship, when I used my magic, please forget that and don't tell anyone." She said before going outside, leaving the two males flabbergasted.

"Mr. Leonory, Mr. Douglas, and Ms. Chivalry." They stopped from strolling at the pathway covered by a bed of snow and looked at Ifrit who's now standing in front of them, "I'm here to guide you to your way on your new class."

"Hey man!" Julius greeted the shifter who's peacefully sitting on the chair while tapping his finger against his desk. The vampire pulled the chair next to Zachary and sit on it, "How's your mission?"

"More like the usual, fine but I enjoyed it after all." He replied. Julius' gaze averted at Salem who's sitting at the back, obviously distancing herself from her classmates, "What happened to her hair?"

"Better not to talk about that today, she's not in a good mood." Zachary replied causing the vampire to chuckled lowly, "She's not always in a good mood, what do you expect?" Zachary looked at him from head to toe then snorted.

"I expect you to silence up before---" Zachary's warning is already too late, a ball of paper coming from the back and hits the vampire on his head that caused a bleeding wound.

"What the?! Hey!" Julius glared at the shadow holding a paper ball as a projectile and aiming his head again. Another paper hit his head, the same spot where the bleeding wound was.

"She throws you a paper with silver."

"You're the most aggressive here before but seems like she snatches the title off to you right away. Both of you radiate angry energy. But she radiates it the most."

"Oh shut up Julius." Zachary deadpans then covers his mouth as he yawned. He leaned at his desk and bury his face in his arms, "Go back during business hours. Before you talk to Salem, let me remind you that Ifrit is not here to hold her back." Julius chuckled before looking at Salem who's sleeping on the last seat. It's not near the window but it's a dark corner. Julius, being himself bothers and talks to everyone when he's bored. He didn't care at all if the person he's talking with can harm him on the spot.

"Hey, Midari! How's your day?"

'This vampire truly has a death wish.'

He fixed his uniform and sit beside Salem and looked at the sleeping girl. Erin and Keiro steal a glance at him then snickered while Hailey is keeping herself busy by reading a book.

"He's walking on the thin sheet of glass," Hailey said, and the two males beside her agreed.

"I guess that glass is not that weak at all. It's morning but Julius is on the move to destroy her day. This hundred-year-old man always wants trouble from that girl with some issues." Erin said, "Salem is always in a bad mood, remember when she feeds Julius the amalgamated fruit from the human world? It's 40 pieces of the same fruit and it can kill a single person. She's also the only one student with countless suspensions though she's not get kicked out."

"What can we expect? That girl is out of her mind." Aquarius commented, "I and Grimoire got dragged into the riot because of her."

"I'm still wondering why she leaves the cafeteria and let us dragged on her mess," Grimoire said.

"I won't say anything since she didn't cause any harm to me nor Megan," Garnett explained and Megan nodded as the sign of agreeing.

"She doesn't go misbehaving if someone didn't make her patience short," Erin told them, "But that hundred years old man didn't get all of the exemption."

Salem stood up from her slumber and grabbed Julius' arm then twisted it to his back. She kicked him behind his knee to make him kneel on the ground as her grip on his arm gets tighter. Their three classmates clamped their eyes shut after a loud crash can be heard in their direction.

"Gracious, don't break my bone!"

"I will and who the heck you are to command me?" She emotionlessly asked him, "I'm offering you a cremation for free, vampire."

"Go on, you're engaging in a war. Youngsters nowadays are aggressive." Julius said. A small smirk crept into her lips before pressing his arm more on his back, "Don't look down at me. You don't know what I can do."

"Salem enough of that," Zachary said. Ifrit holds her by her arms and pulled her away from Julius, "I told you already."

She stared directly at those crimson-colored eyes before going back to her seat. Salem's morning got filled up with annoyance that she wished that she doesn't have at the moment.

Their professor, Lady Selene entered the room together with Mira and her friends. They introduced themselves while Salem went back to her slumber. The rest of the class is entertaining Mira and the two other newbies. Three of them seated two chairs in the front away from Erin and the two others.

"I'm Erin Corsell and she's Hailey Shion. That man beside her is Keiro Falfrey." Hailey walked towards her and looked at her as if it's the first time for her to see newbies. She fixed her eyeglasses and looked at Mattheo "How old are the three of you?"

"I'm 18," Mira replied.

"16!" Freddy answered with a cheery smile.

"17," Mattheo with his usual self said without energy

"Well, call me big sister!" She hugged the three of them and squeal energetically. Hailey stopped when someone tapped her shoulder, "Don't hug them too much Hailey," Keiro told the fairy in front of him. He looked at Zachary who's smiling yet his gaze are threatening.

"Greetings, my lady the name is Aquarius Raven." Aquarius bowed like a gentleman and kissed the back of Mira's palm.

"I'm Grimoire Aleope. If you're free today let eat lunch together." He winked at Mira.

"My name is Garnett Kirsten." She offered her hand at Mira who hesitated first before accepting her shake hands. Garnett did the same to Mattheo and Freddy, "Another elf."

"I'm from the west of Monstra in Regnum."

"That explains, flora and fauna user?" Keiro asked Freddy who nodded as a reply.

"Megan Lorien." Meg looked at Mira from head to toe then rolled her eyes in a sassy way, "I'm amazed at how you managed to be alive after that Phoenix abducted you."

"It's just luck," Mira said before smiling. The tension between the two of them got jeopardize when Julius waved at her.

"Hello! We meet again!" Julius said after seeing Mira, "I'm Julius Trouveré, Ms. Chivalry. Sorry for not introducing myself that day." Mira narrowed her eyes at him, "Thank you but do you think because you told me your name it'll settle everything?"

"I lost on our game so I'm doing my penalty." He scratched the back of his head. Their conversation got cut off when Lady Selene cleared her throat to call their attention, "I'm going out for a meeting." She left the room together with her stuff and closed the door. The rest of the Elite class locked their classroom door and suspend the sunlight to enter the room using the curtains. Zachary stood up while Salem didn't give any care about what they're doing.

"What are they doing?" Freddy asked Mira.

"I don't know either." She replied. Mattheo watched them as they arranged the whole classroom, "They're just doing that so no one can bother us. Mira, Mattheo, and Freddy, right? We heard that you went on a mission with Zachary and Salem. How is it?"

"Crazy."

"Tiring."

"It's fun to die."

A set of knives flew in the direction that pierced on the wooden board beside them. Someone threw another set of knives but Mira pulled Mattheo and Freddy down, causing the blades to be pierced centimeters away from the first set.

The floor started to fill with a pool of water and the strong force of the wind makes the three of them move difficultly.

'The wind and the water are not coming from the outside, it's made by the two culprits!'

Freddy pulled his two friends when a plant from the small pot grew bigger that serves as a shield for the three of them against the wind and the water. Mattheo used his ability to make almost all of the class stunned. Mira halted the time to stop the strong force of the wind and pulled the knives from the board then throw them at them. She immediately turned it back on after the knife pierced Aquarius and Grimoire's side. Everything went standstill even Mira's magic is not in use anymore. They successfully fooled the class but not the two shifters who are observing them all the time.

The strong winds and the rising level of the water halted and the room filled with laughter, "Smart enough."

"I told you already Aquarius," Zachary smirked.

"Tell us what happened to your mission then! I and the other would love to hear it from you since these two shifters are not in the mood." Erin said. Mira and Freddy exchanged looks before the elf tells them the whole story.

"Now I know the reason why Mattheo said 'it's fun to die'." Hailey laughed.

'The mist is caused by their Captain and the chants are the caster's doings. They used that to feed three of you to Solera, the goddess of the sun who feeds off her children since she wants everything wrapped around her finger. The caster is just a spirit who possessed the body of the monster. It's the spirit of his dead shaman wife. The mist and chants are just an illusion. There's no crew at that ship on the very first. All of them are just dolls. Even Zachary knows that.'

"Salem?" Mira called the girl. Six of them looked in Salem's direction. She's burying half of her face in her arms while looking at her emotionlessly.

"How come both of you know that but you didn't tell us?" Freddy asked her.

"You didn't ask." Zachary shrugged.

'The only living supernatural amongst the there is the tiger and snake shifter. They got fooled by the magic.'
