Chapter 28

2124 Words
"Good night, Mira!" Freddy yelled outside. "Night," Mattheo said, without any hint of energy like his usual self. "Good night, everyone!" Mira replied before closing the book she's holding and looked at Ellistal. He's crouching on the carpeted floor: hugging his knees while leaning his chin on them. "What happened? Are you alright?" Mira caressed his white locks. He lifted his gaze before he flinched and sit properly, "I appreciate your kindness but there's nothing happened, my lady. I'm just thinking of something that we can do since the festival's celebration is coming." She pulled the chair and sit beside him to have a proper conversation. Ellistal is unpredictable sometimes, he pops out of nowhere then asks her theoretical questions about the human realm. As a spirit from the depths of Deviah--it makes him feel like a shell or a box where he is just got cracked and allows him to meet the present day of this world. "Do you remember what I did to the gun, my lady?" Mira nodded. "I won't forget that, how dare me to forget that such a thing?" She laughed, knowing Ellistal did something crazy that day. How crazy was that? He just gave Mira a golden gun before she brawled with our principal's puppets together with Salem and Kellion. Their plan that day was very simple, if the monkey is wise then be wiser than a monkey. Salem used Ifrit and his ability to mimic my whole physique and behavior. They used Mira as bait and also a trap. Ellistal disappeared from the girl's sight and senses until she realized that he's inside the golden gun he gave her. Zachary said that a primordial spirit like Mira's familiar can be a spirit of the mythical weapons. Primordial spirits are like dragons, sacred. They're feared by everyone. Spirits are the guardians of magic in this world and also second to the gods. Moreover, they can give you borrowed powers to surpass your enemy and to raise your magic ability. "You don't need to carry this on your side every time since it's very hassle and some students might think that you're a school shooter rather than a student." He explains. The girl tilted her head in utter confusion. Wondering if she look like a school shooter than a student and confused about how should she carry this with her if it's not on her side. Mira knows that there are some places that she can hide it but Ellistal is speaking way farther than she's imagining. "I'll show you." He opened the palm of his hand and a magic pentagram arises from his palm. It's burning gold on top of his hand. He took the small crumpled paper and let the object touches the surface of the pentagram. "Woah." Says Mira. Amazed like a child when you showed them a fascinating thing that doesn't exist in their surrounding. "Where the paper go?" "That paper? It disappears into this dimension and is transported into another dimension. It serves as a satchel or a bag on every mage so they can store their stuff there." "Can I try?" "Sure, my lady. Better try it to small things first." She nodded in comprehending before doing what Ellistal did but ended up disappointed. Mira closed her eyes to have steady breathing and tried it once again. This time, a small golden spark appears on the top of her palm. She puts her whole focus on it to expand it but Ellistal stood up, alarmed by the tiniest sound outside. "Someone is outside," Ellistal said. The tiny spark on her hand vanished and left only the pieces of a small fiery yellow thread that falls like a feather on her clothes. Mira stood up alarmed. The spirit touched the gun and vanished in thin air. She flinched when something from the outside scrape its claws on her veranda's door. The girl almost scream at the top of her lungs when the door burst open. Decided by her instinct--instead of being brave and facing the thing outside, she run towards the entrance door of her room. Halfway through it, a black, heavy, and furry figure hopped on Mira's back and made her slump her back against the mattress. It creates a loud creaking sound. Mira started to panic until she realized that the wolf was just big and not bad. "Zachary? What are you doing here? Can you please get off me?" He groaned before standing up and lying down on her pillow. Mira also stood up and dusted off her clothes then placed her gun on the nightstand. "It's nighttime, aren't you sleepy yet?" Mira asked then covers him with my blanket and let him shift back to his human form. He popped out his face from the sheets then flashed a grin, "I'm not sleepy that's why I came here to visit you, Mira" He rolls into the mattress and buried half of his face on the covers again. "It's a surprise visit like what I used to do. Do you know? watching you every night and sleep here." He explained, Mira cringed at his creepy actions. Who's in the right mind would think that it's romantic when someone sneaks out on your room and watch you sleep? Of course no one. "Just kidding. You know that your friends will react if there's an intruder here but I like the idea of sneaking in and watching you." Zachary laughed then walked towards the veranda to take the backpack, "Man, that idea just pop out of nowhere." He murmurs. Mira looked away with her lids half-open. She's too done with Zachary's habit of giving a false statement just to have fun. Even her, questioning herself why she didn't just create a way to remove the shifter's scent from her but let him by her side. "Tomorrow is our training day, can we go together to the training room?" Zachary asks before buttoning his clothes. "Let me think of it." "Alright." Zachary glanced at Mira after the sudden silence of the atmosphere between them, "You know? Yesterday Salem laughed in a creepy way like an insane freak. I think she beats someone again or did some malice again." "Maybe she just laughed like that." Mira asserted. Secretly laughing at the thought that Zachary can also fear since shifters are brave creatures. "That's crazy you know? She laughed as if she's possessed." Zachary pulled the blanket to serve as cover aside from his clothes and looked at Mira with a terrified expression written all over his face, "Even I haven't heard her laugh before I can say that even her brother will be also terrified." "She got a brother?" "Yep. She has. It's Kellion." Mira nodded, indicating that she understands. Deep inside she can't believe that there are siblings who wanted to kill each other. "HE HE HE HE HA HA HA HA" Zachary tries to imitate the odd and villainous laugh of Salem. Mira stared at him and covers her mouth to suppress the laughter. Indeed, it's truly creepy. However, Salem is known for her misbehavior. The worst amongst all, it's no playful than others think it is. "Right. It's creepy." They stayed up the whole night, talking about random things. Zachary also forgot to go back to his place and sleeps beside Mira with pillows between the two of them. "What else you wanted to do, Beaumont?" Ellistal came out from the gun and looked at Zachary with hostility. Zachary got stunned after the ticking clock echoed to the four walls and the whole surrounding stays in motion. The shifter didn't hold back his grudge against the spirit. "It's none of your business, primordial spirit." "I don't know what's your purpose on sticking around with her and wishing to your mother goddess to become her mate. I swear, even how strong and who you are, I'll kill you just for the sake of the lady I've sworn to protect." "Primordial spirits hate me. First, Zephyr. Second, Ifrit and now you. What I have done to all of you to hate me? Is that because I got favored?" The spirit frowned upon the arrogant remark. Starting to throw daggers of hate towards the shifter. "Tch, I don't care if you got favored by the seven moon guardians but always remember that the sun goddess doesn't give a single piece of care to you." The shifter growls. Knowing the sun goddess' favor is the last resort he can't and impossibly have. The Sun Goddess is the royal deity who holds grunge by the moon guardians and the Moon God. She's the Goddess who replaced Solera, the first deity that feeds her offspring. She never favors everyone, aside from the creatures who worship the sun. "You don't know what you're speaking about." "Of course I know. Listen closely, I don't hate you to the bones. I just can't imagine that you have fond of my master. I watched you from Devaiah, stop showing that fake colors of yours." The clock starts ticking again and everything went back to normal. The morning comes, Mira is peacefully sleeping while facing Zachary. Ellistal walks in with an emotionless face on and gently shakes his master. "Lady Mira, it's time to rise and shine." Mira groans then wake up from her slumber. Ellistal handed her the towel before going straight to the bathroom. "Ahem. Mister Zachary Johannes Beaumont Levine, you got visitors outside." Zachary glared at Ellistal on the very first sight of him in the morning. He stood up and went to the separate comfort room outside to do what he always did every morning. "So shameless," Julius commented and clapped in amusement as the shifter went outside. Salem didn't even throw a single glance at him while Kellion is talking with Freddy. "He's here?!" Freddy gasped in disbelief. "What the..." The waffle accidentally falls from Mattheo's fork as he discovers another alpha's scent. "Yeah? Since last night." "I won't be surprised if one day Mira will stay with Salem's place because of you," Kellion said with a smug smirk. "Sure my lady is." Ellistal agreed then placed another batch of breakfast on the table, "You seem to have a talent for cooking, Mr. Ifrit." "I don't think it is. I and my lady often burn someone without any proper manners, Mr. Ellistal." After eating breakfast, they head to the training room. Mira silently walk beside Zachary as they made their way to the training room. 'Of course, in the particular group, there's a dork that makes everything chaotic. I'm is not saying that those dorks named Julius, Freddy, and the guy who claimed me shamelessly like a boss named Zachary Johannes Beaumont Levine.' Mira thought. They also resolved that thing that happened to her and Zachary inside of three days. Mira discovered everything not because those two shifters promised her that she'll meet that black wolf again but because that ruckus happened two days ago. They're influencing Mattheo and Kellion to get along with them. None of them tried to look at her nor Salem. Zachary knows that both of them are not in the mood to interact with everyone. The worst is Salem, she's too close to slapping someone when they annoy her. Why does Mira like this? The girl didn't know if she'll get delighted or annoyed at some wacko alpha shifter who entered her room last night without any permission. Don't mistake her referring to that wacko is Zachary but yeah, he is. Zachary opens the door, revealing another place inside. Mira is expecting that there's a room made out of bricks, torch, weaponry, and other training but what she sees is beyond expectation. It's not a room anymore, there's a wide variety of land also the plants that filled the surrounding. They noticed the like of wooden body parts on the ground and their teacher. Mira smiled at the familiar growl and massive footsteps coming towards them. The dragon that she always visits in her free time. "Blizzard!" She hugs the dragon's snout. "How are you, boy?" She scratched the spot under its face, causing Blizzard to lay its body on the ground, and leaned his face on the girl. "Seems like the seven of you are complete now." Lady Selene slipped the quill pen and the scroll into the magic pentagram then stood up. She snapped her hand and the wooden body parts glow then float in the air; started to clasp together. "I don't want to start this practice with dramatic roasting. I'll pair the seven of you. So first, Heilderwyn, Douglass, and Trouveré. The second is Zenith and Leonory. Lastly, Glou---Chivalry, and Levine. All of you may start the training now."
