Prologue
It was approximately 9:30 at night judging by the soft moon light and beautiful stars shining brightly in the sky. The occasional clouds in the sky and a gentle cool breeze blowing causing the yellowish and red leaves to shake somewhat upon the oak trees. Bright health green grass covered the fresh clear rain drops just as it had finished lightly raining from the fall shower. Despite all that it was rather unnervingly silent this night, most would expect the nightly night dwelling creatures to be up and about. But oddly enough the fat furry red and grey squirrels and chipmunks were resting in their dens in the trees. Hell if one listened close enough you could hear the chilling howls of a grey wolf on a large hill calling to his comrades to hunt this night. You could also hear but not see the great grey owls hooting and cooing as they flew high above the large trees hunting for shrews and mice for dinner.
Now would you expect any human activity at this ungodly hour to be out and about? No, no you wouldn't because they are suppose to be sleeping. But despite everything going on, there was a evil chill in the air enough to convince someone to stay inside, and despite the animal activity everything alive seemed rather on edge and tense. But like I said before you wouldn't expect a human to be out but there was a single foolish girl who was walking around casually and slowly with a sword strapped to her back. She was what you wouldn't call confident but spiteful challenging anything and everything that confronted her.
She walked with a swagger down the grassy path dotted with small rocks and pebbles just outside her neighborhood soon stopping dead in her tracks standing before the largest graveyard in town. The graveyard entrance locked as expected but the gate low enough to jump over if anyone dared enter the deceased realm. But that didn't stop her as she casually approached it before resting her left hand on the gate before hopping over it, landing inside the graveyard. She walked passed gravestones, a sad and sober look on her face before stopping before a large gravestone that held the corpse of her mother.
