Chapter Two

“Hold it Zayev! What do you mean by your fiance and your new Luna?” I asked, trying to keep my composure. His eyes slowly traveled down to my position before looking back at Elsa who was standing next to him. “What is the meaning of this? I am your mate Zayev. I should be your Luna and not some lady you went and pick up overnight.” “I don't remember asking for your opinion on how I do my things, Kania.” His voice came out coldly and that was the first time he had ever spoken to me in that tone, making my heart shatter into a million pieces. “W-why?” I choked on my words. “W-why would you do this to me? Why would you humiliate me this way?” I screamed on top of my lungs. “You are nothing to me Kania.” He said and his word hit me hard. “You failed to shift into your wolf the day you ought to and I can't have someone as weak as you, who can't even summon her wolf to stand by my side and call herself my Luna.” Everyone's eyes was on me and I could feel the mixed emotions going on around me. Or maybe it was going on inside of me, I couldn't figure it out. “Y-you.” I choked again, my body shaking as tears streamed down my cheeks. “D-do you really think I'm that weak, Zayev? Is that what you think of me now Zayev?” He didn't say a word and just stared at me like I was some irritating trash. “Do you think I'm that weak that you had to choose an omega in my place?” I screamed, wanting to rush ahead but I was grabbed by some guards to prevent me from walking up the platform he was on. “Yes.” He bluntly replied. “Elsa is much stronger as an omega than a wolf less one.” As he affirmed those words, everything suddenly hit me, making everything in me go numb. That was it? That was how this was going to end? How could you Zayev? After everything I've done for you? After all my dedication and unconditional love, you went ahead and you betrayed and humiliated me this way? Without saying a word, I rushed back into the pack house to my room. Tears was rolling down my cheeks but I didn't make a sound, neither did my expression of defeat and sadness leave my face. So this was it? It truly was it. I started to pack my things, wiping my tears, which still refused to stop flowing out of my eyes. “How could you treat me this way, Zayev?” I choked as I stared at his picture which I held my my trembling hands. I still didn't want go believe everything that was going on. How could I even believe it? Who would believe it? Standing up from my position after packing my things, I pulled my bag out of the room, not wanting to meet anyone as I left. I knew it was impossible but all I had to do was ignore them right? “Leaving so soon?” I heard a voice come from before me, making my stop in my tracks to look at who was standing in front of me. It was her. “It's none of your business.” I mumbled, trying to walk past her, but she placed her arm before me to stop me from leaving. “That's no way to talk to your Luna, is it?” She asked me with a smug smile on her face. “I am so sorry that I had to replace you. Babe, just didn't find you… what's that word again? Yeah, good enough.” I cringed at her words. “Of course, you're just a replacement.” I chuckled while looking up at her. “How dare you?” She gritted her teeth for a second before her expression changed back to her cunning smile. “I see. You're just jealous of me. Besides, unlike me, I have something to root my existence in this pack in, while you on the other hand don't even have a legacy here.” I raised my brow questioningly at what she just said. “I guess you wouldn't understand because you're nothing but a bedwarmer for him after all. I'm pregnant, Kania. I am weeks pregnant with his Zayev's baby.” “What?” I questioned, staring at her in disbelief. “You heard me correctly. I am carrying Zayev's son and so you know, he's been seeing me even before you were unable to shift because he could smell your uselessness.” She revealed and the revelation made my shoulders drop. It was one thing for him to choose an omega over me. It was such a terrible embarrassment and humiliation but you know that he was also having an affair with her before the news of me not having a wolf got to him? “I've had enough, just get out.” I said, my voice just above a whisper. I felt betrayed, I felt defeated. To think I would be made fool of that easily without realizing to till the end just made me mad at mly only Zayev but at myself also. “What's wrong? You are no that pained?” She asked in a mocking tone which made me want to hit her hard but I knew I had to keep my cool. At this point, I was at her mercy with no one around. She could frand me and everyone would take her side since she was Luna now and I was just a wolf less pack member. No matter how much we view it, they would always take her side. Always. “I don't blame you. It would be really bad if everyone got to know that Zayev never acknowledged you as his mate or his Luna to be right from the start. Maybe it's all better that you're leaving anyway.” She chuckled. “Besides, everyone around you left you just for this reason of not being good enough.” That was the final straw. I grabbed her shoulders harshly before yanking her aside. At first, I didn't realize what I did till I heard a loud thud in the distance. That was when I noticed I just shoved her down the stairs. I could see the pain write on her face from where I stood and just behind me, I heard a maid scream on top of her lungs as she dropped the tray she was carrying. What had I done? I didn't mean for things to get this bad. I just pushed her out of my way out of anger. Thinking of what I just did, Zayev's anger made me tremble in fear. He had been the alpha for quite a while so I knew how he dealt with thing. And when it came to the one he chose as his Luna, I knew the punishment won't be something light. I trembled in fear as I stood in front of the room Elsa was rushed to after he arrived. I gulped in fear as he hasn't said a word since we arrived here and it made the hair on my body rise in fear. “When the f*ck will the doctor come out from there?” He finally thundered as he slammed his fist into the nearby wall, creating a crack in the wall. “M-my alpha.” The doctor stuttered as he walked out of the room. “The Luna sustained a serious injury from the fall and I'm afraid she would suffer from paralysis.”
