Chapter 24

706 Words
Perrie shouldn't have been surprised to find that upon checking in to her flight at the airport, with Leigh-Anne’s aid, that Jade had purchased her a first class ticket, but she was regardless. “I don’t know why you’re surprised,” Leigh-Anne scoffed, “She’s worth what? Probably close to three hundred million, right?” Perrie simply shrugged, it wasn’t really something thought about, or rather something she wanted to think about. “I have no idea.” “I will never understand you,” Leigh shook her head. “So you’ve got your tickets now, I’m assuming you know how to go through security and find your way to your gate?” Perrie glared at Leigh-Anne who was currently acting more like her mother than her friend. “Yes Leigh, I get it. Just because I’ve never been out of the country, that doesn’t mean I’ve never been on a flight before.” “Once, when you were eleven.” The blonde hated that Leigh-Anne knew her so well sometimes. “Whatever Lee, I think I can figure it out. I’m a big girl.” “Have fun, but not too much fun,” Leigh-Anne tapped Perrie on the shoulder, which Perrie knew was a strong show of attention. Leigh-Anne was not too big on physical affection, even with her friends. Perrie waved goodbye and headed through security. About an hour later, first class was called to board the flight from DC to Paris and Perrie stood up to board as if she had done it a million times before. The facade didn’t last long, because as soon as she saw the luxury she would be sitting in for the next seven and a half hours, she squealed out loud, causing a flight attendant to ask if she was alright. Realizing how ridiculous she probably seemed, she waved the attendant off after asking for a glass of champagne. People always did that in the movies and she hoped it was appropriate. Luckily, it was. Jade: Make it on to the plane okay? Perrie: Yes! And you’re ridiculous; I did not need to fly first class. Jade: I was not risking you flying across the ocean potentially between two crying babies for eight hours. You would arrive on your BIRTHDAY, annoyed and cranky. Cranky Perrie is not fun. Perrie: You totally forgot flying economy was a thing, didn’t you? Jade: Maybe. Jade: Regardless, my point stands. Perrie: Less than twelve hours. Jade: Brian is going to pick you up from the airport. He travels with my crew, he’s Gary’s second. You’ll recognize him. Perrie: Where will I be meeting my beautiful girlfriend? Jade: You’ll have to wait and see. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see my show because it’s a day concert, but that just means that I get to spend more time with you. Perrie: Gross, you’re such a sap. Finally everyone had boarded the flight and the captain spoke over the speakers that the doors were shut and that they were in line for takeoff. Perrie: About to take off! Is it bad that I already feel one glass of champagne? Jade: Perrie, you’re on a red-eye flight. You should get some sleep, not drink. Perrie: But it’s my birthday! Perrie: Speaking of which, you should go to bed. Isn’t it 6 am in Paris right now? Jade: I will take a nap before you arrive. I wanted to make sure you got on the flight safe and sound. Perrie: I repeat: you are such a sap. Jade: Whatever. See you in a few hours! Can’t wait! Perrie: Me too. Jade: Me too. Knowing the double meaning to both her and Jade’s repetition of phrase ‘me too’, Perrie felt a warm feeling in her chest as she turned her phone on airplane mode. She was asleep only minutes after the plane made its way in to the clouds.
