CHAPTER 32 LACHLAN It's late when I finally step out onto the sidewalk outside of Opal's. The sky above me is dark. The stars are out in full force. I step out of my yellow taxi and into the night in my newly bought outfit of the white button-down and black slacks. The street and night air are warm for a December New York night, and I don't even feel a chill. The last twenty-four hours have been surreal.
