*🌱 THE SEED OF JEALOUSY 🌱*
*Episode 1*
The whole village stood still as the black Prado jeep slowly entered the compound.
Children stopped playing.
Women paused their gossip.
Even the old men under the mango tree adjusted themselves to look properly.
“Na who get this kind money for this village?” one woman whispered.
The car finally stopped in front of Chief Adewale’s mansion — the biggest house in Oloro village.
A young lady stepped down from the car gracefully.
Tall.
Beautiful.
Classy.
She adjusted her dark glasses and looked around slowly.
“Is that… Sandra?” an old woman gasped.
“Yes! Chief Adewale’s daughter!”
“The same Sandra that left this village many years ago?”
Murmurs filled the air immediately.
Sandra smiled faintly and walked into the compound with confidence.
Inside the mansion, Chief Adewale rushed downstairs immediately after hearing she had arrived.
“My daughter!” he shouted happily.
Sandra hugged him warmly.
“I missed you, Father.”
The old man smiled proudly.
“You came back more beautiful than your mother.”
Sandra laughed softly.
But from the staircase upstairs, another pair of eyes watched her with hidden anger.
Her step-sister…
Vanessa.
Vanessa folded her arms tightly.
“So she finally came back,” she muttered bitterly.
Ever since Sandra left for the city years ago, Vanessa had enjoyed all the attention in the house.
Everybody treated her like the only daughter of the mansion.
But now…
Sandra was back.
And from the way their father looked at her, Vanessa already knew trouble had started.
That evening, Chief Adewale organized a small welcome party.
The compound became lively with music, food, and laughter.
Sandra greeted everyone politely, making people admire her even more.
“She’s so humble.”
“She’s educated too.”
“She even speaks good English!”
Vanessa sat quietly in one corner, forcing a fake smile.
Jealousy burned inside her chest like fire.
Suddenly, Sandra walked up to her happily.
“Vanessa! You’ve grown so much,” she said warmly.
Vanessa smiled dryly.
“Welcome back.”
Sandra sat beside her.
“I hope we can become close sisters again.”
Again?
Vanessa nearly laughed.
They were never close.
Not after Sandra’s mother died mysteriously years ago.
Not after Vanessa’s own mother married Chief Adewale only a few months later.
Vanessa stared at Sandra carefully.
Did she know the truth?
Before she could think further, Chief Adewale raised his glass.
“I have an announcement!”
Everywhere became silent.
The chief smiled proudly.
“Starting from today, Sandra will take over all my business affairs.”
The crowd clapped loudly.
But Vanessa froze completely.
Her mother dropped her spoon in shock.
“What?!” Vanessa whispered.
Sandra herself looked surprised.
“Father…”
“I trust you more than anyone,” Chief Adewale continued. “You are the future of this family.”
Vanessa’s hands shook with anger.
Everything she had planned…
Everything she believed belonged to her…
Was suddenly slipping away.
And in that moment…
The dangerous seed of jealousy was planted deeply in her heart. 🌱🔥

Episode 2
The night after the announcement, the mansion was unusually quiet.
But inside Vanessa’s room, silence was the opposite of peace.
She sat on her bed, staring at the wall, her fists clenched tightly.
“Business affairs…” she repeated slowly.
“Everything… everything I’ve been preparing for…”
Her mother, Mrs. Ireti, pushed the door open gently and stepped in.
“Vanessa…” she called softly.
But Vanessa didn’t respond.
Mrs. Ireti sat beside her.
“I know what you’re thinking.”
Vanessa finally turned.
“Do you? Because I feel like my life just ended in one evening.”
Mrs. Ireti sighed.
“That girl coming back doesn’t mean you are nothing.”
Vanessa laughed bitterly.
“Nothing? Mama, before she came back, I was the only one Father listened to!”
“But now? She just walked in and took everything!”
Her voice cracked with anger.
Mrs. Ireti held her hand firmly.
“Then you must be smarter, not louder.”
Vanessa looked at her slowly.
“What do you mean?”
A small dangerous smile appeared on Mrs. Ireti’s face.
“In this house… power is not given. It is taken carefully.”
Vanessa stayed silent.
But something inside her shifted.
---
The next morning, Sandra woke up early.
The sunlight entered her room softly, making everything look peaceful.
She stretched and smiled.
“Home feels different…” she whispered.
She wore a simple dress and went downstairs.
Chief Adewale was already at the dining table.
“Good morning, Father.”
“Morning my daughter,” he replied warmly. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes I did.”
But before their conversation could continue, Vanessa walked in.
Her face was calm… too calm.
“Good morning,” she said politely.
Sandra smiled.
“Morning Vanessa.”
Vanessa sat down slowly, watching Sandra closely.
“So… you’re really handling Father’s business now?” she asked casually.
Sandra nodded.
“Yes, he wants me to help organize things first.”
Vanessa stirred her tea slowly.
“That’s nice… must be stressful though.”
Sandra laughed softly.
“I can handle it.”
That simple reply hit Vanessa harder than expected.
“I can handle it.”
As if she was born for it.
As if Vanessa didn’t exist.
---
Later that day, Sandra visited the family company office for the first time.
Employees stood up immediately as she entered.
“Good morning, ma’am!”
She smiled politely.
“Good morning everyone.”
A middle-aged manager stepped forward.
“We’ve been expecting you, Miss Sandra.”
She nodded.
“Let’s get to work.”
She sat down and began reviewing files.
Everything felt new, but she adapted quickly.
From the corner of the office door, Vanessa quietly watched.
Her eyes narrowed.
“So this is how she wants to shine…” she whispered.
One of the junior staff walked past her.
“Are you here for something, ma’am?”
Vanessa smiled quickly.
“Oh no… just observing.”
But inside her, something dark was growing.
---
That evening, Sandra returned home tired but satisfied.
She placed her bag on the bed and sighed.
“It wasn’t easy… but I think I can do this.”
Just then, her phone rang.
Unknown number.
She picked it up.
“Hello?”
A deep voice spoke from the other end.
“Be careful, Sandra.”
She frowned immediately.
“Who is this?”
The line went dead.
Sandra slowly lowered her phone.
A strange feeling entered her chest.
Before she could think further, there was a knock on her door.
“Come in,” she said.
Vanessa entered with a tray.
“I brought you tea,” she said softly.
Sandra smiled.
“That’s kind of you.”
Vanessa placed the tray gently.
For a moment, silence filled the room.
Then Vanessa spoke.
“I hope you know… not everyone is happy you’re back.”
Sandra looked at her.
“What do you mean?”
Vanessa smiled faintly.
“Just… be careful. This family is not as sweet as it looks.”
She turned and left.
Sandra stared at the closed door for a long time.
Then she whispered to herself,
“What is really going on in this house?”
Outside, Vanessa stopped walking.
Her smile disappeared completely.
“This is just the beginning…” she muttered.
And somewhere in the shadows of the mansion…
Someone was watching everything.
Waiting.
For the perfect moment to strike.

Episode 3
The next few days passed quietly…
Too quietly.
Sandra noticed strange things around the mansion.
Whenever she entered a room, conversations suddenly stopped.
Workers avoided eye contact.
Even some villagers who once smiled at her now looked nervous whenever she passed.
It felt like somebody was spreading fear silently.
One evening, Sandra stood by the balcony outside her room, staring at the dark compound below.
Something about the house no longer felt welcoming.
Suddenly—
She noticed a figure moving near the backyard gate.
A man dressed in black.
Sandra narrowed her eyes.
“Who is that?”
Before she could look properly, the figure disappeared into the darkness.
A cold shiver ran down her spine.
---
The next morning, Chief Adewale called Sandra into his study.
The old man looked serious.
Very serious.
“Sit down, my daughter.”
Sandra obeyed quietly.
“There’s something important I need to tell you.”
Sandra’s heartbeat increased slightly.
“What is it, Father?”
Chief Adewale sighed deeply.
“Our family has many enemies.”
Sandra frowned.
“Enemies?”
“Yes. Some people have been trying to destroy this family for years.”
Sandra stayed silent.
The chief stood up slowly and walked toward the window.
“Your mother knew many dangerous secrets before she died.”
Sandra’s eyes widened immediately.
“My mother?”
Chief Adewale turned toward her.
“Yes.”
Sandra swallowed hard.
For years, nobody talked about her mother’s death.
Everybody simply said it was a sudden illness.
But now…
The way her father spoke sounded different.
Almost fearful.
“Father…” Sandra said slowly. “Was my mother really sick?”
Before Chief Adewale could answer—
The door suddenly opened.
Vanessa entered quickly.
“Father, some visitors are waiting downstairs.”
The chief’s expression changed immediately.
“I’ll be there soon.”
Vanessa nodded politely, then glanced at Sandra briefly.
That single glance carried warning.
The moment Chief Adewale left the room, Sandra stood up immediately.
“Vanessa.”
Vanessa paused.
“Yes?”
Sandra walked closer.
“What really happened to my mother?”
For one second…
Vanessa froze.
But she recovered quickly.
“Why are you asking me?”
“Because everyone becomes uncomfortable whenever I mention her.”
Vanessa forced a smile.
“Some dead people are better left in the past.”
Sandra stared at her carefully.
“What does that mean?”
Vanessa stepped closer too.
“It means this house hides many secrets.”
Then she walked away calmly.
Leaving Sandra completely unsettled.
---
Later that afternoon, Sandra decided to explore the old storage building behind the mansion.
As a child, she remembered her mother keeping old books and personal belongings there.
The building looked abandoned now.
Dust covered everything.
Cobwebs hung in corners.
Sandra coughed lightly as she searched through old boxes.
Then suddenly—
She found a small wooden case hidden beneath a table.
Her heart skipped.
Slowly, she opened it.
Inside was an old photograph.
Sandra gasped softly.
It was a picture of her mother…
Standing beside Chief Adewale.
But another person was in the picture too.
Mrs. Ireti.
Vanessa’s mother.
And strangely…
None of them looked happy.
Sandra turned the photo over carefully.
Written behind it were shaky words:
“Trust nobody in this house.”
Sandra’s hands trembled instantly.
“What…?”
Suddenly—
CRASH!
Something broke outside the storage room.
Sandra quickly turned around.
“Who’s there?!”
No answer.
Only silence.
Fear slowly crept into her chest.
She rushed outside immediately—
But nobody was there.
Except one thing.
A bracelet.
Sandra bent down slowly and picked it up.
Her eyes widened immediately.
It belonged to Vanessa.
---
That night, Vanessa sat inside her room nervously.
Mrs. Ireti entered quickly.
“You went to the storage building?” she whispered angrily.
Vanessa stood up.
“I had to stop her!”
Mrs. Ireti grabbed her arm tightly.
“You’re becoming careless!”
“But she’s already asking questions about her mother!”
Mrs. Ireti’s face darkened immediately.
“She must never discover the truth.”
Vanessa looked worried.
“But what if Father finally tells her everything?”
For the first time…
Fear appeared clearly in Mrs. Ireti’s eyes.
Then she whispered softly,
“If Sandra finds out how her mother really died…”
“…all of us are finished.”

Episode 4
Sandra could barely sleep that night.
The old photograph…
The strange message behind it…
Vanessa’s bracelet near the storage room…
Everything pointed toward one thing.
Someone was hiding something dangerous.
And somehow…
Her mother’s death was connected to it.
Sandra sat on her bed, staring at the bracelet in her hand.
“Why was Vanessa there?” she whispered.
Suddenly, she heard soft footsteps outside her door.
Quickly, she hid the bracelet under her pillow.
Knock! Knock!
“Who is it?” Sandra asked carefully.
“It’s me,” Chief Adewale replied.
Sandra relaxed slightly.
“Come in, Father.”
The old man entered slowly.
But Sandra immediately noticed something strange.
He looked worried.
Very worried.
“Father, are you okay?”
Chief Adewale sat down heavily.
“I need you to listen to me carefully.”
Sandra’s heartbeat increased.
“What is it?”
The chief looked toward the door first, as if afraid someone might hear them.
Then he lowered his voice.
“You must stop digging into the past.”
Sandra froze.
“What?”
“Your mother’s death should remain buried.”
Sandra stood up immediately.
“Why?!”
Her voice shook emotionally.
“All my life, nobody told me the truth!”
Chief Adewale avoided her eyes.
“Some truths only bring pain.”
Sandra’s chest tightened.
“So there IS something you’re hiding?”
The old man stayed silent.
That silence alone gave Sandra her answer.
Tears gathered in her eyes.
“You lied to me all these years…”
Chief Adewale looked broken.
“I was trying to protect you.”
“Protect me from what?!”
Before he could respond—
A loud scream suddenly echoed from downstairs.
Everybody froze.
“HELP!!”
Sandra rushed toward the door immediately.
Chief Adewale followed quickly.
They ran downstairs and met workers gathered near the kitchen area.
One of the maids was shaking badly.
“There’s blood!” she cried.
“What happened?” Chief Adewale demanded.
The maid pointed toward the backyard.
Sandra’s heart pounded as they all rushed outside.
And there…
Written boldly on the wall with red paint—
Was a terrifying message.
“LEAVE THIS HOUSE BEFORE YOU DIE.”
Everybody gasped in fear.
Sandra stepped backward slowly.
Chief Adewale looked completely shaken.
Vanessa pretended to panic, holding her mother tightly.
“Oh my God!” she cried dramatically.
But deep inside…
A small smile almost escaped her lips.
Because she knew exactly who wrote it.
---
Later that night, heavy rain fell across the village.
Thunder shook the sky violently.
Sandra sat alone in her room, unable to stop thinking.
Something terrible was happening.
And somehow, everyone around her already knew more than she did.
Suddenly—
Her phone vibrated again.
Unknown Number.
Sandra hesitated before answering.
“Hello?”
This time, the voice sounded clearer.
“You’re running out of time.”
Sandra stood up immediately.
“Who are you?!”
“If you want the truth about your mother…”
“…go to the old river tomorrow at midnight.”
Sandra’s breathing became heavy.
“Wait!”
But the line disconnected again.
Sandra stared at the phone nervously.
Could this finally be the person who knew the truth?
Or was it a trap?
Outside her room…
Vanessa stood silently near the door.
Listening.
Every single word.
A dark smile slowly appeared on her face.
“So… she’s going to the river,” she whispered softly.
Then she pulled out her phone and dialed someone immediately.
“She took the bait,” Vanessa said coldly.
The deep voice on the other end replied,
“Good.”
Vanessa’s expression darkened.
“Make sure she never returns from there.”
Sandra had no idea…
That the journey to uncover the truth…
Was leading her directly into danger. 🌧️🔥

🌱 THE SEED OF JEALOUSY 🌱
Episode 5
The entire mansion slept under the sound of heavy rain.
But Sandra remained awake.
The mysterious phone call kept repeating in her mind.
“If you want the truth about your mother… go to the old river tomorrow at midnight.”
She looked at the clock.
11:43 PM.
Her heart beat nervously.
Something about the situation felt dangerous.
But another part of her desperately needed answers.
She slowly stood up, wore a dark hoodie, and picked up a flashlight.
“If this is the only way to know the truth…” she whispered,
“…then I’m going.”
---
Outside, the village roads were muddy and quiet.
The rain had reduced to soft drizzles.
Sandra walked carefully toward the old river path she remembered from childhood.
Every movement of the trees made her nervous.
The deeper she walked into the lonely path…
The stronger the fear inside her chest became.
Suddenly—
CRACK!
A branch snapped behind her.
Sandra turned sharply.
“Who’s there?!”
No answer.
Only darkness.
Her breathing became faster.
Then she continued walking carefully until she finally reached the old riverbank.
The river flowed wildly beneath the stormy sky.
Sandra looked around anxiously.
“Hello?” she called softly.
Silence.
Then suddenly—
A shadow stepped out from behind a tree.
Sandra nearly screamed.
But when the person moved closer under the moonlight…
Her eyes widened.
It was the old family gatekeeper.
Baba Felix.
The elderly man looked frightened.
“You shouldn’t have come,” he whispered.
Sandra rushed toward him.
“You called me?”
Baba Felix nodded slowly.
“I know what happened to your mother.”
Sandra’s heartbeat stopped for a second.
“What?”
The old man looked around nervously before speaking again.
“Your mother did not die from sickness.”
Sandra felt cold instantly.
“She was murdered.”
Sandra staggered backward in shock.
“No… no…”
Baba Felix nodded sadly.
“She discovered something terrible inside this family.”
Tears filled Sandra’s eyes.
“Who killed her?!”
Before Baba Felix could answer—
BANG!
A gunshot echoed through the night.
Sandra screamed immediately.
Baba Felix collapsed to the ground.
Blood spread across his chest.
“NO!!”
Sandra dropped beside him in horror.
“Baba Felix!”
The old man struggled to breathe.
With his final strength, he grabbed Sandra’s hand tightly.
“Trust… nobody…”
Then his hand dropped lifelessly.
Sandra’s entire body shook violently.
Fear consumed her completely.
Suddenly—
Footsteps approached from the darkness.
Sandra quickly stood up.
A masked figure emerged holding a gun.
Sandra’s eyes widened in terror.
The figure pointed the weapon directly at her.
“You were warned to stop asking questions.”
Sandra slowly stepped backward.
“Who are you?!”
The person moved closer silently.
Sandra turned immediately and ran.
---
Rain poured heavily again as Sandra raced through the forest path.
Branches scratched her skin.
Her legs trembled with fear.
Behind her, the masked figure chased without stopping.
Sandra cried as she ran desperately.
“Help! Somebody help!”
But the storm swallowed her voice.
Suddenly—
Her foot slipped on the muddy ground.
She crashed hard onto the floor.
Pain shot through her ankle.
The masked figure slowly approached her.
Sandra crawled backward in terror.
“Please…”
The stranger raised the gun again.
Sandra closed her eyes tightly—
Then suddenly—
Another figure jumped out from nowhere and attacked the masked person violently.
The gun fell into the mud.
Sandra opened her eyes in shock.
The two figures fought aggressively under the rain.
Then the masked attacker finally escaped into the darkness.
Sandra breathed heavily, still shaking.
The stranger turned toward her slowly.
Tall.
Strong.
Unknown.
He stretched his hand toward her.
“You’re not safe here,” he said deeply.
Sandra stared at him nervously.
“Who are you?”
The stranger looked straight into her eyes.
Then he spoke words that changed everything.
“My name is Daniel…”
“…and your mother saved my life before she died.”
TBC 😊
