Asher, Raymond and I were at Club 99 drinking our lives away, our finals were finally over. Asher stuck to sparkling water which was odd but i was too tipsy to care, Raymond was drunkenly asking Asher to be his girlfriend which was comical.
"You guys know we need to be at Cherry's event tomorrow right?" Asher raised her brows.
"Who cares about that b***h?" Raymond slammed his hand on the bar top earning a glare from the bartender.
"Definitely not me" I slurred
"Well is Jen coming? i mean you guys have been moving strong"
"I don't know, damn i forgot to ask her" I willed my hands to find my phone and not yank the nearest whiskey from the counter. I dailed her number but it went straight to voice mail, five tries later i left a drunken sweet message.
"Well did you get her?" Asher asked as she tried to stop Raymond from climbing over the bar.
"Nahhhh i guess she's really busy, we could just ask her tomorrow" Asher slapped my hand when i reached for the whiskey bottle.
I pouted glaring at the evil witch "Don't even think about taking one more swig of that drink or i'll spank you" she wagged her finger at me.
I don't know if it was the alcohol, i'm sure it was. The sudden need to feel her hands on my body ruined my panties, she probably noticed the predatory look in my eyes because the next thing i knew she fit herself snugly between my thighs while her tongue did wonders in my mouth when her thigh pressed hard against my center i whimpered.
"I can't do this" I whispered against her lips. her unsteady breaths matched the beating of my heart. The look in her eyes almost melted me on the spot, i ached to feel her lips on mine again.
"I know you can't" brushing her lips lightly over mine she drew back "I'm sorry i rushed in like that but i don't regret it, i'll be waiting for Jen to jump me"
I chuckled at the image, Jen was nothing but soft and easy going, she wouldn't hit Asher. Raymond was looking at us with an emotion akin to awe, we shared a confused look.
"Do it again"
"Do what again?" we said simulteanously
"Kiss muah muah" he made weird- cringe worthy kissey faces. Asher kissed his nose, she stared at him with so much raw emotion my breath hitched. I saw just a flicker of sadness pass through her beautiful eyes before her smile smothered any questions i had to ask.
Asher piled us all into the car not staggering once, i had a million questions; i wished i had asked them all.
**
The party was in full swing by the time we had made it to the reception, Asher grabbed Raymond and i from the bed whining and grumbling before she pushed us into the bathroom setting the shower on full blast mode. We shrieked like banshees but it did wonders to my hang over, Raymond on the other hand wasn't so lucky- let's just say his head was in the toilet bowl when i finally staggered out of the bathroom.
Asher stopped us once again with a glare from grabbing champagne from the passing waiter. "I thought you were never going to drink again Ray and you-" i gulped when i became the victim of her glare "I'm sure we do not want a repeat of last night- let me rephrase that, we do want a repeat of last night but not on this beautiful floor so stick to water"
I'm sure i was glowing bright red, i thought she had forgotten all about last night but i forgot she was the only sober one s**t! i needed a drink to take me through the day. My heart stopped when i realized i had to tell Jen, i just hoped she wouldn't actually punch Asher.
"I see you could all make it to the party" Cherry loud voice announced herself before she did. I rolled my eyes preparing myself for the drama.
We were all gaping at her or maybe i was the only one gaping at her visible bump "Well hello to you too" she mumbled sporting a blush, she was pregnant! damn! Nate really worked fast.
"Well uhhh wow uhmm congrats Cherry" i grabbed the champagne from the next tray, i needed more than one drink before today ended, i had no residual feelings for her but it stung like hell.
"Hey everyone" Nate nodded in our direction before snaking his arm through Cherry's waist. The instant glow she emitted drowned out what ever sparked between us; it was truly nauseating, Asher and Raymond i could handle. this was borderline disgusting; call me bitter but the sight of her just made my blood boil, i excused myself before i did anything drastic.
Sipping casually from the wine glass i looked at every other person around, they were dressed to impress; the occassion called for it anyway we were lucky to get invited. Anything involving the Malnovs was grand and dreamy.
I never believed in fate or destiny yet here she was- Jen. she was just a few feets away from me standing with an older couple laughing away like she had no care in the world, i walked on auto pilot through the crowd smiling when she smiled and laughing when she laughed but i stopped just few feets away from her when she turned to kiss the man standing behind her.
Was i dreaming or did this s**t just happen? I blinked rapidly hoping the man locking lips with Jen, MY JEN! would miraculously disappear still he was there leaving us with the image of what was going to go down tonight. He kissed her like a starved man, the worst part- the absolute worst part was the way she kissed him back.
"s**t! Not again" Raymond and Asher exclaimed.
The crowds cheer had died down when they had enough decency to pull away, they both glowed just like cherry and Nate. Another Malnovs sick joke, another Malnov woman; i laughed when i felt the irony of it all, her smile froze on her face when she noticed me, she even looked cute when she was nervous.
"Congratulations" i said looking solely at the bride, i had mustered enough courage to walk up to them.
"Thank you so much, i'm glad you could make it, she said some of her students were coming today" the groom whom i learnt his name was Shane said eyeing her hungrily.
I raised my brow in question but i wasn't in the mood for this crap today "I'm happy for you, i'll be on my way now" snagging a quick drink from a passing waiter i gulped it down- maybe it would numb this ever existing pain. They kept opening it, healing it then ripping it apart again.
I waved raymond off when he tried to hail me a cab, i was a big girl- i didn't need a knight in shining armor everytime something went wrong in my life. Staggering slightly to the bus-stop i didn't notice the red car pull up beside me.
"Katya get in the car" Jen said from the drivers side, i rolled my eyes so hard i thought it would get stuck in my head. "I'm sorry, we can work all this out just get in please"
"Work what out? our sleeping patterns since you now have someone dicking you down or is it my grades since by some miracle you became my teacher over night"
"Don't do this, we can work this out, There's always a way"
"You're not God so don't give me that bullshit, go home to your loving husband and leave me in peace."
"God loves you katya don't forget that just because of my mistakes, i know i wronged you but i'm human. God will always be God" she said softly ruffling my hair.
"Again with this God bullshit and your holier than thou attitude, where did you tell him you were going Jen?"
"Who?" A frown adorned her pretty face.
"Your husband Jen; what did you tell him?"
"I-"
"Where Jen?"
"I told him nothing, no one even knows i'm gone... Yet; Katya please let's forget all of this and move one please i love you."
"Do you know what you taught me Jen?" i tread my fingers through hers caressing the big diamond ring on her finger. "You taught me that religion and sexuality would never mix, you proved to me how hypocritical you are, you showed me how humans can not only kill you physically but emotionally as well. As for my spiritual life- i guess i'll have to sort that out on judgement day and i do love you but i don't think you deserve to be loved not with the way i've been treated, I'm happy i was your last stop, were you going to f**k other girls then tell them God loved them while your life was perfect and theirs was torn to pieces" a hollow laugh escaped my lips. "We do have one thing in common. we'll be seeing each other in hell"
"You don't mean that" i could see how much it killed her to hear me say those words but she wasn't the one going to drown herself in alcohol or question her faith, her life was set forever and me? i was left alone by the road side once again.
Walking away from her hurt less and less the farther i went, i wouldn't cry for this mistake neither would i break down and weep. What was done was done, If i could give a toast i would say 'Good riddance to a very good rubbish.'
I wasn't intoxicated or on the influence of any drug- When Raymond and Asher welcomed me into their bed, i knew. When the tentative caresses turned into something more, i knew. When the throes of passion swept us all into a mindless daze; i was fully aware of it all.
I wasn't prepared for the consequences of yet another biblical abomination.
One i would never call a mistake.
