Trick
I cooled down after the s**x but Molly hadn’t, she actually seemed to be feeling hotter by the minute.
My heart was thudding in my chest, I hadn’t f.ucking seen any sign she had been bitten, and she hadn’t said she was either. I slammed the lamp light on waking Kai and Natasha, but I didn’t care.
“What’s going on?” Kai mumbled sleepily.
I Ignored him and started checking over Molly, she had passed out and no amount of gently tapping her cheeks or shaking her would wake her up. I pulled her top off, and her bra, but couldn’t see any bites, I patted her down, feeling around for anything, my fingers brushed across something sticky under her arm and close to her armpit, I lifted her arm up and dread filled my whole body. There was a bite there, barely.
“Molly! Why!” I growled in anguish.
“What is it?” Natasha panicked, I was unable to answer her, Kai rushed over and when they saw the bite Natasha began to cry and Kai closed his eyes in defeat.
Natasha ran to get Grayson, and he rushed in with her and Lara behind him. He checked over the bite and sat back on his heels and looked up at me. “They didn’t bite her properly, it’s not deep enough, not enough saliva, only enough to give her the fever but not the change, the fever will kill her, unless you’re willing to risk biting her and making sure she receives enough saliva in her bloodstream, it’s what I did with Lara, but if she doesn’t survive the change, then it’s going to be a much worse and more painful death than letting the fever take her.”
“I’m risking it, I’ll go change,” I said icily and turned to go into the bathroom.
“Change as fast as you can, you’re lucky she’s one of the people that the symptoms take longer to take effect in, she’s had this bite for a few hours now, looking at the state of it I would say you have less than ten minutes before it’s too late, and she’ll be too far gone.”
I went to the bathroom and started the process of the change, it was painful, it always was, this time it wasn’t quite as excruciating as it normally was because I was trying to speed it up, I wanted the change so desperately, without me focusing so much on the pain it flowed through me more smoothly, I worked with it like a dance and within five minutes I was finished, it was the fastest I had ever changed.
I padded out to the bedroom and Grayson positioned Molly so I could rebite her wound, I bit down and listened to Grayson as he told me to lick the wound, I licked it for a few minutes as hard as I could with my tongue, I even gave her a new bite on her wrist just to make sure.
Grayson stood up and said, “now we need to get the f***k home as fast as we can, we’re going to need the cage.”
It was going to be f.ucking painful as hell changing back to human so fast, but I couldn’t exactly walk out the hotel as a wolf.
When I was done, I was sweating drawing the attention of two hotel staff women, they were checking me out which I didn’t understand when I was sweaty and must have looked like I was on something with my panicked state. I rushed out to catch up to Grayson and the others who already had Molly in the car.
Grayson had put her in my car, and I was so grateful, I knew he had done it because he knew I would want her close to me.
We mostly sped home breaking a lot of laws, but it was late and dark, and we got home in under an hour with no problems along the way.
I carried her through the main pack house and Leo asked, “has she been bitten?”
Grayson nodded and Leo looked devastated, he went and got some things from Grayson’s office while we took Molly down the hatch. I placed her gently on the bed in the cage and cuffed her wrists and ankles so that when the change caused spasms she didn’t break any of her bones.
Natasha brought down her weighted bunny and handed it to me. “You can give it to her when she comes to.”
I nodded keeping my eyes fixed on Molly. Grayson was a doctor, so I let him take lead and watched as he got cold wet cloths and started placing them over her naked body, she couldn’t be clothed during the change or the clothes would end up entangled and twisted inside of her as well as out. I hated her being naked and vulnerable for everyone to see, but I stayed calm because I knew the people in this room all loved and cared about Molly.
Grayson had to keep rewetting the cloths because she was so hot they were literally drying out by the minute, Kai helped him and as the time ticked by I clung to her rabbit like it was the f.ucking holy grail itself. Another half an hour passed by when she groggily opened her eyes and moaned in pain.
“Molly?” I stood up and held on to the cage bars looking through.
“What’s…” she licked her lips and tried again, “what’s going on?”
Grayson focused on keeping her cool and let me do the talking.
“The bite Molly, you got the bite didn’t you?” I asked dejectedly.
“I’m sorry, I just wanted to be with you,” she whispered.
“I know you did baby, I should have told you sooner how I felt about you.” I walked into the cage and bent down beside her while Grayson and Kai resoaked the cloths. Stroking her forehead I said softly, “I don’t care if you’re human or a werewolf, I just want YOU, I’ll always want you Molly.”
“Your…” she coughed and licked her lips again, “you don’t in wolf form, I want all of you to love me even the wild part of you, the instinctual part.”
“I do Molly, I know in wolf form I’m all primal instincts and mostly thinking like a wolf, but I still love you, when Ellie tried to attack you in wolf form I stopped her, I couldn’t bear the thought of you getting hurt, I would never have done that for anyone else, I would have smelt a human and joined in on the attack, but I didn’t, did I?” I smiled softly at her, and she pouted making me laugh softly, “what’s wrong with that?”
“I still can’t stroke you or go near you.”
“We could have worked on that.”
“But—” whatever she was about to say was cut off as she screamed in pain, her body began convulsing, her left arm flung up so hard it smacked against the bed post and I winced when I heard the bones in two of her fingers break, her wrist was broken too. I went and held down her arms so she couldn’t hurt herself anymore, Kai and Grayson applied more wet cloths to her body, she started throwing up, and I quickly turned her head to the side so she wouldn’t choke on it. “It’s ok sweetheart, I’m right here with you,” I soothed.
This was why no one really survived the bite, without someone there to help you through and knew what they were doing, there were so many ways you could die, like choking on your own vomit, the damage the convulsions did to your body if you weren’t strapped down, and that’s only if the fever didn’t kill you first.
It went on for hours, I couldn’t stand seeing her in so much pain but there was nothing I could do, she had to see this through to the end no matter the consequences.
