Delia "That'll be 50 dollars please." I checked my watch again for the hundredth time, worried that Eva would get home before I had the time to get home and set up for her birthday. The woman slid her card across to me, and I swiped it, handing it back to her after. She packed up everything she'd bought in a plastic bag, and I waved her good bye with a small smile.
