“Jason STOP this isn’t right” I yelled as loud as I could. He just smiled back at me with the most devilish look in his eyes. I’m married what is this man thinking? His hot breath slightly on my neck, his hands sliding all down my body. I’ve tried to move but I’m pinned against the wall. His rock hard c**k pressed up against me. God it felt good but I can’t I just can’t go down this dark side of love.

Chapter one
“Beep Beep Beep.” Rolling over in bed trying to ignore the sound of my morning alarm going off. Could it really be 7:30 in the morning already. “Babe I’ll start the coffee.” My husband whispers getting up from the bed. Andrew is my husband and we’ve been married for fifteen years. I’d be lying if I said it was unicorns and rainbows the whole fifteen years. We’ve come along way since we were younger and after finally coming to terms that kids just wasn’t in our future we started looking at our marriage a little differently. Sure I’d give anything in the world to be a mom but with multiple let downs and a whole lot of why me’s I finally excepted it just wasn’t in the cards. “I love the way you look when you first get up in the morning’s.” Andrew says while wrapping his big but gentle arms around my waist catching me off guard. Rolling my eyes and smiling “you have to tell me that we’re married remember.” I say back giggling. “Angie call out of work take a sick day for me?” Andrew whispers sliding his hand down my waist. Groaning “you know I can’t, I already have a case to catch up with.” I answer back hoping I only caused a little damage to his feelings. Don’t get me wrong I love spending time with my husband but I also worked really hard to become detective. It wasn’t easy I had to work and bust my ass day and night to even get to where I’m at now and I often wonder if all the stress is what caused all the miscarrying. My husband is a pediatrician and he’s amazing with all the little kids. A few years ago he developed feelings for a women that use to work for his office. It shook our relationship pretty hard but through the mist of everything he officially ended it with his mistress and we both started working on us. I had took a lot of personal time of from work and I enjoyed that time with my husband because we both needed a break from work but the bills weren’t going to pay themselves and it was time we went back to reality. “Angie what time you think you’ll be home tonight?” He yelled up the stairs. “Andrew I’m not sure it’s the first day back after our vacation.” I answered back trying to do the last touches on my hair before heading down stairs. “You look stunning!” Andrew said looking up at me from his coffee. If you asked someone from the outside I’m sure they’d tell you with all the complaints this man gives me there shouldn’t be any reason I should ever feel unwanted. That’s true I appreciate his compliments more so now but I also remember just a few years ago actions spoke louder than words. “I’ll be home just as soon as I can, I love you Andrew.” I said pecking a small kiss on his jaw line. The commute to work wasn’t so bad we lived on the outskirts of a small town so there wasn’t much traffic. I wasn’t so sure why I was nervous to hear about this case but my boss did say it was urgent. Checking my hair in the car before finally going into the police station. “Glad to see you’ve came back Mrs. Reed.” My captain said standing in his office door way. “I couldn’t stay away even if I tried.” I replied back smirking. “Angie is it me or does our captain Jason get hotter and hotter everyday?” Annie my back up partner when my main partner Riley isn’t around and long time best friend whispers to me. Shaking my head laughing at her remark. Jason my captain sure he’s a looker and based on looks and his uptight it’s my way or no way attitude makes we roll my eyes. Some say it’s just the role he plays with being a captain. Most clients men, women drool when they see Jason or should I say Captain Bryant. The only reason my friend Annie hasn’t tried to f**k our captain in his office is because it’s against policy. Anyone caught sleeping with someone on the team is immediately terminated. I on the other hand have no interest in some play boy wanna be. “Hey Angie I need you in my office.” My Captain stated before turning into his office. Walking into captain’s office was unpredictable either you were in trouble or he wanted to check in. “Shut the door please, and draw the blinds.” Captain ordered while typing on his computer. After shutting the door and closing the blinds I sat in the chair opposite side of Captain Bryant when he slaps a folder on his desk in front of me. “I take it this is my case.” I said curiously? Flipping through I noticed it’s a young female with long brown hair. Her face was bruised and bloodied. There was hand prints around her neck and what appeared to be some kind of hand tie prints around her wrist. “Captain this happened here in our town?” I questioned looking back at him. Sure things happen everywhere even places you wouldn’t imagine. I’ve dealt with my fair share of murders and s****l assaults but I’ve never seen a body look like this. Catching my attention Captain puts 5 more files on his desk which are of different women. “What’s this?” I ask looking up at Bryant’s face. “I believe we’ve come across a serial killer.” Captain says without any hesitation. Taking a minute to realize what was being said. “Any idea what kind of person were looking for?” I questioned hoping the team had some head way since I’ve been away. “Angie we haven’t gotten a single clue to be honest, hell I don’t know what to tell the town if word gets out there is multiple victims all killed the same way.” Captain says putting his head in his hands. Without thinking I placed my hand on Captain’s shoulder to keep him from beating hisself up. I may say captain’s a playboy wanna be but he’s a damn good captain and is passionate about his line of work. I managed to read up on all the files about the different victims. One victim caught my attention much faster than the others. When the victim Lexi Sliver mother stated Lexi was coming back home to Colorado from New york because things weren’t working with her boyfriend and than Lexi never showed up. Her mother said she tried calling her several times that day with no answer it wasn’t until the next day when Lexi never returned her call she begin to worry. “Annie looks like we need to go to Colorado” I said while walking over to give her the file about Lexi. “Before we make any plans I think you should talk this out with your husband Angie.” Surprised Annie would even summon that up but considering our history letting Andrew know wouldn’t hurt. 11:30pm my phone showed as I pulled into the driveway of my home. The porch light was still on which meant Andrew was still up. I loved the fact he was still awake but I also could only hope he wouldn’t be to upset. “He baby glad to see you up.” I said going over to give Andrew a hug and a kiss. Hugging Andrew and feeling his strong arms around me made my first exhausting day at work worth it. Andrew gently cupped his hands over my cheek and looked me deeply in the eyes before unleashing his bottled up lust. His mouth was on mine and his tongue began helping part my lips so they could go in. His hands were all over my body. One hand squeezing and rubbing my breast and the other hand pulling my hair. It was intoxicating but over powering. I tried pushing him back some to gain some control. He quickly pinned my arm against the island in the kitchen. What was this man doing what had come over my husband. We never had any roll play like this and we certainly didn’t roughen you s*x to this point. I tried to speak. “Andrew, babe stop please what is this?” I cried out confused by his actions. “I’ve missed you.” Was all Andrew said. His mouth went back to mine as I wrapped my free hand around his neck squeezing gently but firm. “Andrew I said f*****g stop.” I yelled when his mouth freed mine. “Come on Angie let’s play like Your defenseless and I’m taking what I believe is mine.” Andrew whispers out as he spins me around to where I’m faced up against the island. He grabs my arms and pins them against my back with one hand and begins undoing my pants. “ANDREW f*****g STOP YOU SICK BASTARD!” I scream out in tears and rage. All of a sudden Andrew stops and spins me around to face him and just stares at me. “The f**k is wrong with you Andrew?” I call out smacking him in the face. “Angie I’m sorry I just thought you being out so late-“ “you thought what Andrew that I wanted to come home and be raped.” I spoke before he could even finish his sentence. “Your sleeping on the couch and by the way Annie and I have to be in Colorado to interview this mother.” I harshly spat out walking to my bedroom. I didn’t even give him time to say anything else before I slammed my bedroom door. What the f**k just happened played in my head as I turned on the shower In the bathroom. Best part about this house was that it had two separate bathrooms. I don’t think Andrew meant any harm with his actions had this been something we tried before I probably wouldn’t have freaked so much. It wasn’t that he had to have permission to try something new it was great to spice things up but that aggression was something I never experienced with when it came to Andrew. Sure I knew what b**m was I had friends that were into that but again it wasn’t something I imagined Andrew would be into. The water turned cold before I had realized how long I had even been in the shower. Getting out and drying off enough to lay down and hope sleep would find me. I wasn’t sure when I finally dosed off I was just glad Andrew had left before I had gotten up. Right now I had to push what happened between us to the side because I had a much bigger priority. I quickly left Andrew a note to at least remind him that I had to go to Colorado. I threw a few clothes into my bag and headed to the airport. I grabbed my phone and called Annie to see where the hell she was at. “Annie you know the plane leaves in like an hour.” I said hoping she could get the hint to hurry it along. “Im pulling in now Angie.” She said back with sarcasm on the edge of her voice. On the plane Captain sent us everything we needed to know about the victim Lexi or at least everything we already had in the file. “Trouble in paradise again?” Angie asked looking out the airplane window. “Im not sure about trouble Annie but definitely something I don’t plan on mentioning plus we have better thing to discuss.” I answer back motioning at the notes we have about the cases. Once the plane arrived in Colorado I turned back on my phone to see texts from Andrew. Andrew: “I’m sorry about last night I’m not sure what came over me. It’s going to take time to get use to you being back at work.” I rolled my eyes trying to come up with my reply. Angie: “Me being back at work doesn’t excuse what took place Andrew. I do however accept the start of your apology! I’ll see you when I land back in Seattle.” I replied back before heading to the car Captain had pick us up after the airport. “Detective Reed and Detective Fuller I’ll be driving to your hotel Gold magnolia.” The driver said after opening our door for us to get in. The ride from the airport to the hotel was about an hour drive and all I wanted to do was take a nap. “Detectives we have arrived.” The driver calls out as the car comes to a stop in front of an elegant hotel. “Annie I hope this stay isn’t coming out of our paycheck.” I said stepping out of the car. The hotel was huge and probably cost more than I could afford. If this was the kind of places we were going to stay at when doing work outside of our state you could count me in. Our rooms were on the fourth floor and sectioned off from the rest of the people accompanying the hotel. Truth be told we would need all the privacy we could get if we were going to try and solve this case or cases. “I suppose we should go check in with the captain here in this district.” Annie said laying her bag on the other bed in the room. Going into a different precinct that you didn’t work for was like going into a lions den with a steak tied around your neck. “Captain Nelly here I see your captain has brought you up to speed and I do apologize this happened in your town detectives.” A small but stern women in front us said as we walked into Colorado’s precinct. Nice to know a women around here could handle such job description. I mean it wasn’t unheard of to have a captain as a women but it also meant there was a lot more on her shoulders. “If possible we’d like to interview the victims mother.” I spoke while following captain Nelly to her office. “Be my guest detectives but I don’t think you’ll get anymore out of her than we did.” Nelly said raising her eyebrow. Taking that as a signal we should probably get going on with our own investigation. Nelly gave us the mother’s address said she lived in one of the townhouses just in the city. I wasn’t to keen on the weather in Colorado it was cold for October. We finally reach Mrs. Silvers house the victims mother. After three hard knocks a lady wearing a maids outfit opened the door. “May I help you?” She asked politely. “Yes I’m detective Reed and this is detective Fuller we’re here to ask Mrs. Sliver a few questions about her daughter.” I said showing her my badge while Annie did the same. “Please come in.” The lady said moving out the way for us to come in. “I do apologize I’ll have to go get Mrs. Sliver, please have a seat.” The lady said pointing to the couch in the living room. The townhouse was cute and cozy. The smell of coffee filled the air in the house and for the chilly weather a nice warm cup sounded nice. “Detectives what brings you here?” A soft voice called out. There coming to the living room was a short but beautiful lady. She walked slowly careful where she stepped. She wore sunglasses which I assumed hide the sadness in her eyes. “Mrs. Sliver we apologize but we’re from Seattle and there happened to be a murder there and we’re thinking your daughters murder is in connection.” Annie said as nicely as she could even though we both knew telling a parent their child’s killer wasn’t captured yet wasn’t something they wanted to here. “Mrs. Sliver could you tell us what happened the day you spoke with your daughter.” I asked pulling out my notepad and pen. “Sure, Lexi called me crying saying that she was for sure things were over between her and Nick-“ “I’m sorry Mrs. Sliver but who’s Nick?” I asked chiming in before the story went any further. “Nick was her fiancé detective.” Mrs. Sliver said looking frustrated. “I’m sorry Mrs. Silver our reports didn’t mention his name and didn’t say they were engaged.” I said looking concerned. “Well detectives it just goes to show you how much people listen. Any how they had been having problems-“ “I’m sorry problems? What kind of problems?” Annie asked before letting Mrs. Silver finish. “He was controlling her every move she said she felt like a prisoner and I told her the best thing she should do was to come back home.” Mrs silver said placing her hand over her heart. “Mrs. Silver are you ok? If this is too much we can stop.” I softly said hoping Mrs. Sliver was ok. “Please detectives I’m ok she said she was packing her things and getting a flight first thing but after two days and no phone calls being returned I just knew something wasn’t right.” Mrs. Sliver said reaching to get some tissues. “Mrs. Sliver could you tell us anything about this Nick like what he looks like or how we can reach him.” I asked hoping she’d have some kind of lead way. “I’m sorry detectives I’m blind so I couldn’t tell you what he looked like and I never had his number. That time I met him he seemed like he was a really good man he seemed to have made Lexi happy. I’m not sure what changed.” Mrs. Silver said standing up from the couch. “I’m sorry detectives but it’s getting late and time for you guys to leave.” Mrs. Silver said walking to the door. “I’m sorry ma’am but if there’s anything you feel she left out please call us.” I said to the maid handing her my business card before heading to the door with Annie. “Mrs. Slivers we truly do apologize.” Annie said before we walked back out into the cold October air. Once we got our team back home up to speed with our notes it was time we caught the next flight back home. Once back home and in our precinct we started looking further into our victims case. “Reed my office now.” The captain yelled out over the precinct. Dammit anytime he yelled like that it usually didn’t mean any good. “Captain what’s wrong?” I asked shutting his office door. “You’ve got a new partner on the case.” Captain answered back. “What’s wrong with Annie cap?” I asked being nosey. “She asked to be taken off the case said it was too much.” Captain said looking at me. “I’ll be your partner until we figure this case out.” Captain said while typing away at his computer. “Are you serious?” I asked still in shock I had to work with him out in the field. It wasn’t unusual for the captain to step out and help it just meant you had to be careful how you reacted to situations in the case. “Reed if that’s an issue I can pass the case to someone willing to do and work with whatever it takes.” Captain said with annoyance in his tone. “No need captain.” I said before leaving his office. “Annie what the f**k happened?” I asked her as she came walking into the precinct. “Look Angie it’s nothing personal but the case has me freaked out. I mean a serial killer come on I can’t have that keeping me up at night.” She defensively said going to her desk. I knew the real reason though. Back when Annie was in high school there had been rumors of a serial killer on the lose in her hometown. No one was able to identify him or his victims he left behind. Unfortunately for Annie her oldest sister went missing and was never found even to this day. I believe that still scares her til this day and is probably why she refuses to take this case on. I couldn’t blame her I had only hoped she’d want stay on the case to help another innocent person. She had her reasons and despite those reasons for this case she was an amazing detective. Luckily with the captain being my partner it meant I got to leave while the sun was still up. Arriving home I could see Andrew was home. I knew we needed to talk about the other night I was just dreading it. “Babe I can’t believe your actually home.” Andrew said greeting me in a gentle hug. “I’m glad to be here before you went to sleep.” I spoke back embracing his hug. “Angie I’m so sorry about the other night. I had been drinking it was totally out of character for me.” Andrew said apologetic. “Just don’t do that again Andrew.” I said wanting to forget we ever had to have this conversation. Beep beep my phone went off peering down to see who it was. Damn my captain for whatever reason he was texting me I just hope it was good. Angie I need you to come to my office I think we may have a lead. The text read from my captain. I hated this part coming home to only have to go back out but I also was excited to know we may have a lead. “Babe I’m so sorry but we may have a lead on this case and I really have to go.” I said apologizing hoping Andrew wouldn’t be too upset. “Babe you put bad guys away and I make sick babies better. We’re a team I’ll save you a plate.” Andrew said giving me a kiss before letting me leave. Once at the precinct I noticed it was only Captain and me there. “Cap where’s everyone else at?” I asked looking around the place. “I wanted to check with you before I said anything to anyone else.” Captain said leading me to his office and shutting the door behind us. “Cap it’s only us here why are you shutting the door?” I asked looking back at him. Captain didn’t respond back all he did was walk closer to me. With every step he took I took one step back. Eventually I had no where else to go my back was against his office wall. “Cap please whatever is going through your mind don’t.” I spit out reaching for my gun on my side only to see I left it in the car. f**k f**k f**k Angie was all that was going through my mind. “Angie relax please.” Captain whispered out just inches from my face. I could feel his lips on my neck and the way he smelled of expensive cologne. ““Jason STOP this isn’t right” I yelled as loud as I could. He just smiled back at me with the most devilish look in his eyes. I’m married what is this man thinking? His hot breath slightly on my neck, his hands sliding all down my body. I tried to move but I’m pinned against the wall. “ please Jason.” I moaned out still trying to shove his body back from mine. “Angie I can’t be the only one that’s thought of what it’d be like between each other.” He whispers in my ear. I could feel His rock hard c**k pressed up against me. I could feel my stomach muscles tighten. What the f**k was happening. God it felt good and why I don’t know but I can’t, I just can’t do this but my bodies saying different. “Angie give in.” Jason whispers in my ear. “Your my captain.” I squeak out trying to control myself. “Our secret.” He whispers once more. No I can’t do this can I? I can’t allow myself down this dark side of love. And like a thief in the night before I realized what I had done I was bent over my captains desk moaning his name while this dark feeling started creeping over me.
