“He came for you,” Major said.
“If he came for me, he would have gotten here when you did.”
“What’s going on?” AJ asked.
“Who did you come here for? Just tell us and get it over with.”
“I, um, came here because I thought my car was being stolen.” AJ held up his phone. “See.” There was a blinking red car and the words Alarm deactivated. “‘It’s me. It’s me,’ I said to a couple dozen people who were also on the way.”
He smiled. We didn’t.
“Useless app. The car thief would have been gone by the time I was notified.”
“Seriously?” I looked back and forth between them. “Of all the cars, in all the world, we landed on yours? If I didn’t know better, I would say it was destiny.”
