Chapter 8
Major squeezed by me, then hurried up the aisle. When I went to go after him, Abby stopped me.
“You knew?” I asked her.
“Yes.”
“And you never wanted me and Major together.”
“No.”
“Because?”
“Because you’re you,” she said softly. “Because of all the reasons I said. Because of AJ, and how I see you looking at him the same way you look at Major. If you wanted Major as much as he wants you, you’d never be able to look at anyone else that way.”
I stood there a moment, letting it all sink in. Whether or not Abby was right, whether or not I wanted them both, even if I only loved one of them, I had to get to Major, and said so.
“Wait.”
“For what?” I asked.
“Because you’re you,” Abby said again. “We love each other…all of us, right? Me and Major…you and Major…you and me?”
“Yes
