Chapter 9: Sean

1714 Words
Sean looks back at his life, could describe it with much generosity, as good. Unfortunately, it turned badly after he met his mate. And when he reached his lowest point, Olivia came into his life, changing his perspectives completely.  After her sincere words engraved inside his brain, he felt something more, something better than the "good" things in his entire life. His body moved on its own accord and swept Olivia from her feet and spin her in the air like she weighed nothing, which in reality it was like nothing. She was light as a feather. Her giggles warmed his heart, a melody to his ears. After they calmed down, they started walking again, and Olivia hugged his arm, their bodies walking side by side, as the warmth that was radiating from her body comforted him and pushed away his awful thoughts. Somehow the way she held him felt all-natural to him.  They were walking side to side, their bodies close to each other, but neither of them seemed to mind. Sean felt an inner peace that he hadn't felt in a while now. No one utters any word, not daring to break this comfortable silence between them. Their bodies brought them to a park that to his surprise was the greenest part of this human town. Olivia led him towards an empty bench under a big old tree. His eyes scanned the area really fast, in the case of any other wolf that was around but it was clean. He followed her silently, understanding without having her to explain where she was leading him.  They sat next to each other, with Olivia still holding his arm. Her head slightly fell to his arm, and she left it there. He felt all warm inside, and without realizing it, he moved his arm and hugged her, pushing her body closer to his. Allowing her head to rest on his chest. It passed some time, but Sean wasn't sure of how much, as he enjoyed the close proximity of their bodies. Olivia suddenly moved out of his loose embrace and turned to look at him. Their eyes met, and neither of them could stop the smile that formed on their lips.    "How about we start our first training session here" she asked excitedly, motioning with her hand the empty park, as she stood up.   Sean was surprised, but he couldn't say no to her, especially when she acted so ridiculous and childish, she looked so cute and eager to learn. He remembered his warriors and how opposite their reaction was to hers.  He decided to show her something easy for starters. He wanted to know her boundaries first and how much self-defense she knew. He stood up as well and followed her lead. They were standing across from each other, unlike her happy face, he wore a serious expression on his. He was always serious regarding training as he knew that the life of the person across him was depending on his training. As a warrior himself, he fought and knew many fighting techniques. But as he thought earlier, he will start easy with her.  "Are you ready" he questioned, still with a serious expression on his face. Olivia had never seen him like that, and she was trying very hard to focus on what he was actually saying and not how gorgeous he looked when he was serious.  His muscles flex when he pull his hands behind his back, like a soldier in command. His jaw was tight, and his eyes were bored into hers, making her body feel all kinds of things.  "Are you listening to what I just said?" he questioned again, pulling Olivia out of her dirty mind.  "Emm.. well..no" she said awkwardly, she knew he must have sensed that her attention was elsewhere.  "Focus Olivia," he said firmly, and she just nodded, trying to hide the smile on her face.  "What we will do today is very easy, you will learn how to dodge and block any attack that comes your way. That's the first thing you will learn but it won't be the only one. You can't keep dodging someone's attack, you will lose in the end. When your opponent starts hitting you, you need to find a way to turn the game around and make him be the one to dodge and try to block you." Olivia was about to ask something that just pop into her mind, but he stopped her.  "I know what you are thinking but I am not done" he stated with a serious voice but Olivia was more than serious when she asked "So you are telling me that if I try to dodge or attack, I had already lost the fight. So basically I will leave my opponent to just beat the s**t out of me" her eyes narrow looking at him, challenge him in a way. "Only you can twist my words like that" he replied with his usual tone, allowing his body to calm and give her a small smile  "You know me," she said with a smirk on her face. Her eyes showed her excitement.  Sean stared at her, admiring her, she was challenging him every chance she got and she is not afraid to speak her mind even if his face looked murderous. She was so different and so courageous compared to all the men he had trained before her.  Flashes of images of the night he had found her, rushed inside his head. His body tensed again, thinking how hopeless she looked in such a dangerous situation. He would never allowed any one to touch her in such a way again, but he knew that he will not be around for long. At least he has some time left to teach her, and he will die knowing she can protect herself even when he is not around any more to do so. His face was once again serious, void of any emotion.  Olivia noticed the change in his body, his eyes looked deadly as his gaze was bored into hers. But not in a million years she would have anticipated his next move. Sean without talking rose his fist and was ready to punch her right in the face, but she blocked it. She couldn't even believe it when she opened her eyes and saw that her hands suddenly rose up, protecting her face and blocking his attack.  He knew that however, her body had reflexes and it could sense the danger from afar. It's in the nature of any human's body to block any threat coming its way, but she didn't. That was her first lesson.  He moved his hands back and stared at her for a mere second before talking again.  "I never said that you don't block or dodge in a fight. Your body has instincts that you need to learn to trust. Those instincts rise up when your body feels threatened and without you realising it, it instinctively protects itself. The more you trust those instincts, the more control you have over the situation and in the fight you will be in. Trust your body that it can protect itself and by doing so you will dodge and block anything that comes your way without realising it, allowing you to fight back your opponent and hopefully you will win" he finished off giving her a small reassuring smile that told her, he trusted her that she can win.  Olivia was stunned for a mere seconds on his knowledge about all this, but he was an alpha before meeting him after all, and fighting was probably a huge part of his life.  "Okay, so what is next alpha boy?" she said tauntingly, raising her fists upwards, waiting for him to throw her another punch, but he didn't. Instead he continued talking. "You shouldn't focus on dodging and blocking but instead you need to focus on protecting your self and at the same time you need to find your opponents weakens and then you attack back" was all he said before landing a punch on her left side, it come fast and she closed her eyes waiting for the pain to pierce through her body but it never did. She opened her eyes again only to see Sean standing right next to her, his fist was lightly brushing on her left side of her stomach, but he never actually touched her.  She was out of words, she was actually expecting him to punch her. I mean what kind of teaching is that, that he doesn't even punch her.  "I will never hurt you Olivia" he whispered close to her ear, she felt her entire body shivering in delight but she couldn't muster a reply back, she was once again speechless. Sean let his hands on her waist, pulling her slightly closer to his body. It was warm and welcoming in a way and Olivia found herself melting in his touch.  "You know that right, I am not like them," he whispered again.  Olivia's eyes scanned his face, he had his eyes close, but he didn't make any move to remove his hands, not that she minded. She knew that he was referring to the rogue that attacked her that night, even though his past was a mystery to her, something inside her trusted him with her life.  "I know, I trust you," she whispered breathlessly. She heard Sean letting out a sigh of relief, he made a small movement trying to release his hands from her waist, but she pulled him into a hug, resting her head on his muscular chest.  "I know you will never hurt me Sean, you are nothing like them," she whispered again as she felt his body relaxing under her touch.  Neither of them wanted to move away from each other, and they stayed like that for a few more minutes. After that they needed to go back to training.  Sean did the same thing he did at the beginning, pretending to punch her and she was dodging or blocking his attacks. Soon enough she was getting better at this, and Sean was actually surprised at how fast she learned. She was indeed a very impressive woman, he thought to himself.
