As soon as her lips touched Sean's cheek, she felt her body tingling and then she realised what she had done. She rushed out of the door, so Sean won't see her face, which turned into a deep shade of red.
During her lectures, she couldn't stop thinking about the innocent kiss, the way her lips touched his skin, how warm and tingly she felt inside. But then his body tensed, he didn't feel the same way she did. How can she be so stupid, they seemed to get along, and then she went and kiss his cheek. Somehow she didn't expect him to react the way he did, and she couldn't understand why his reaction pained her. It felt like she was rejected, probably it's her ego that got hurt, but it was for the best. At least now she knows where they are heading to. They are just roommates, nothing else and nothing more.
"Miss Moon, care to answer the question," her lecturer said with pleading eyes, oblivious to the battle inside Olivia's head. It was true that she was one of the best students in the university, without must struggle she understood everything, and she was the one who usually aced in every test.
But at this exact moment, she felt dumb. She couldn't figure out what was going around her as she was too deep in thought. She cleared her throat, trying not to ruin her good reputation.
"Can you please repeat the question?" she asked politely, begging to every god in the sky to be a question she can answer without making herself look bad.
Her prayers have been heard, as the question was something that she could easily understand and of course, give an answer to. The rest of the remaining lecture pass uneventfully, as she pushed all Sean related thoughts out of her mind and tried to stay focused.

Her classes finally finished for the day, and she was debating what she should do now. She already told Sean she won't be back before lunch, and she already started to get hungry. Before finishing her thoughts, her body already start walking to a familiar road. After a couple of minutes, she was outside the small diner she told Sean about. After the incident this morning, she rushed out of the door without informing him where exactly it was located, so she knew he wont be here, and just the thought of it caused an unfamiliar pain inside her chest.
As she stepped inside the diner, she was greeted by the owner Mrs Paige, she was in her late fifties, and she was always so happy, especially when Olivia came over. Mrs Paige, has a son, Eli, who is the same age as Olivia. He is also one of her classmates, not a very smart kid, but he knows how to make somebody feel comfortable and welcome, just like his mom. She met him at the begging of her studies, as she one day let him cheat from her paper and since then she has been helping him to pass all his exams.
Mrs Paige, whose husband has died, didn't have any family to depend on it and everything she has now, she fought hard for it, and Olivia respected her for that. As the years passed, she was like a part of their small family, and Eli was like a brother to her. Every now and then, especially during their exams, Olivia visits the diner, and she was never allowed to pay, as she never asked Eli anything in return for helping him. It's like a deal they have made.
"My sweet Olivia, how are you today?" Mrs Paige welcomed her with a wide smile.
"I am very well auntie" she greeted back and embraced her in a hug.
"Are you hungry?" she asked, but before Olivia could reply, she pushed her toward a table to sit down, and soon after that, she disappeared into the kitchen. After a couple of minutes, she resurfaced, holding a plate that smelled amazing.
Even the image of the food made her stomach growled hungrily but her mind was too occupied with her troubled thoughts to eat.

Sean though found her, he was an excellent tracker, one of the best back in his pack, if not the best. He saw her figure from outside the window and without having second thoughts, he went inside. She was sitting in a table all by herself, the food already in front of her but she was just playing with it and not eating. She was too deep in thought, not realising he was standing next to her. Her left palm was under her left cheek, and she had a pout rather than her usual smirk, she looked so adorable when she was upset.
Sean sat down and stared at her, not uttering a word, it didn't take her long to turn her face to meet his eyes and the frown on her face disappeared immediately.
"You shouldn't play with your food," he said with a soft voice and grace her with one of his heartbreaking smiles.
"I am not really hungry," she admitted truthfully. It's true when she is under a lot of stress or when she feels down, she rarely eats.
"Do you want to eat it" she asked, pushing her plate towards him before he had the chance to reply.
"Are you sure" he asked quietly, trying to hide the fact that he was drooling over a plate of food.
"Yes," she said softly with a smile, pushing the plate in front of him.
Sean didn't need her to tell him twice as he digs into the delicious food. Another homemade meal, the moon goddess must really love him after all, he thought. He tried to push the painful thoughts out of his head, not allowing himself to drift back to his depressed state.
Olivia stayed quiet observing him, it was something very unusual for her as she was always talking. But somehow she felt his uneasiness, she saw how his smile dropped and his brows knit together. Clearly, he was thinking something bad, maybe his past. He did admit that he misses his old life, if he did, however, why did he leave his pack behind. So many questions she wanted to ask him, but she kept silent. When he is ready, he will tell her.
Sean finished eating and turn to look at her. The frown on his face dissolved into a sad smile. Olivia returned his smile with one of her own.
"Thank you," he said softly.
"You are welcome, alpha boy" a lovely smile gracing her face, and with that, she stood up and waited for him, but he stayed sited.
"Don't we have to pay" he asked with uncertainty. He didn't know many things about humans, but he had been to a restaurant before. Olivia just smile and shake her head.
"This must be illegal," he told her in a firm tone. He was now a rogue werewolf, but he didn't forget his manners, and definitely, he knew that not paying will be wrong of them.
"It's on the house," she said, dismissing his concerns, but somehow Sean wasn't convinced.
"The person who owns the place has a son my age. He goes to my university as well. I help him pass his classes in exchange for food," she told him, and then he turned behind to see an older woman waving in their direction. Olivia smiled warmly and waved back.
"So you are clever," he stated with his brows knitted together.
"Try genius," she corrected him sassily before bursting in a fit of .waves of laughter.
"Modest as well," he said before laughing as well, and just like that, the tension from earlier vanished.
After Olivia said her goodbyes to the older woman and Sean awkwardly standing next to her, they left the diner. Their bodies are closed to each other. The warmth that was radiating from it made them both feel more relaxed.
"So tell me, how do you know so much about werewolves," he said, not looking at her in the eyes.
"I read a lot," Olivia said casually, not giving him an honest reply.
"The things you know are not written in any books," he told her softly, but with an accused tone, he knew she was not telling him the truth.
Olivia sighed. Somehow she wanted to tell him the truth, but she wasn't sure how to.
"It's a long story," she admitted quietly.
"I have time," he replied with a warm smile.
Olivia stayed silent for a few minutes, they were so many things how she should just start telling him, so she decides to start from the beginning but not before grabbing the opportunity to learn something from his past as well.
"Okay, I will make another deal with you," she said excitedly as she stopped walking, turning to look at him in the eyes. They seem to do that a lot with each other, and she didn't mind one bit.
"I will tell you how I know so many things about your kind, and you will tell me why you are a rouge," she said with a soft smile on her lips, but her eyes betray the distress feelings she felt from observing Sean's reaction.
Sean stopped in his tracks, and his eyes showed nothing but pure sadness. The same regret his heart and soul were feeling.
"I don't want to," he said with a voice above a whisper, talking more to himself than to Olivia.
Olivia moved closer to him and wrapped him in her arms, which was almost impossible as his body was enormous and way muscular, but she tried to comfort him.
"You don't have to tell me today or tomorrow, or maybe you will never tell me, and I will die wondering. But the night that you saved me, the only thing I remember is the pain inside your eyes. I won't push you to tell me but know that I will be here to help you carry the burden that weighs down your soul, and if you need a shoulder to cry, use mine," she said, tapping her shoulder to emphasize her point. Her words were so sincere that he couldn't stop himself from sweeping her from her feet and spin her around as she giggled carefreely.
