After he agreed on teaching her how to defend herself, he, in exchange, found a place to crash until he finds a more permanent residence. He knows he can't return to his pack. This is his life now, and like Olivia told him
We all miss something in our lives. The thing to do is to accept it and try to move on, even if it pain us to do so."
And this is what he is planning to do, even if it's the most challenging thing he did in his entire life.
Olivia left after dinner for work. She told him to sleep well before informing him that she will be back around four in the morning. He wasn't fond of the idea that she will be out all night doing goddess knows what, but he pushed his animalistic instincts deep down. She wasn't his mate, his wolf reminded him.
Currently, he was sleeping on the double couch she had in her tiny apartment. He was too tall for it, as his legs were hanging out, but he didn't mind. It was more comfortable than the ground he slept for so many days. His mind once again drifted back to his mate. She had a pale complexion with piercing blue eyes and straight blond hair, unlike Olivia, who had a more olive complexation, brown eyes, and curly dark brown hair. She was like an exotic goddess, he thought, comparing her with his mate.
He scowled himself for daring to compare the gift that the moon goddess grace him with. He shouldn't and forced himself to stop thinking about the girl who was slightly snoring in the other room. For some while, this debate went on until Sean found his eyes feeling droopy, and soon enough, he drifted to sleep, thinking how delicate and comforting Olivia's touch was.

The following day he woke up to a heavenly smell.
"Meat," he thought before his eyes were shot open. He stood up with his nose sniffing the air. The smell was so good that he literally followed it.
"Good morning, alpha boy," Olivia said with an amused voice.
Sean felt his cheeks warm. Once again, this woman made him blush. He knows how to ruin a man's ego, he thought. Olivia giggled at his dumbfounded expression. She just caught him sniffing the air like some dog.
"Morning," he said, trying to regain his muscularity back.
"Hungry," she asked, still amused.
"Very," he replied before making his self comfortable, ready to devour the deliciousness she cooked.
Olivia placed a plate filled with bacon, another one with scrabble eggs and tomatoes. Then, finally, some orange juice and plenty of toast, already buttered. Sean's eyes light up from the happiness he felt by looking at all the food he finally gets to eat.
"Thank you," he said in between his bites, and Olivia giggled.
"It's the least I can do, alpha boy," she said, smiling at him.
Sean felt his muscles stiffen. He stopped eating after he heard her, and his face turned serious-looking straight into her eyes.
"You don't owe me anything for that night. I did what I did because I wanted to. So if you are trying to repay me for something, you should stop trying," he stated firmly.
The memory of Olivia accusing him that he had saved her for money is still fresh in his mind. He doesn't want her to believe that she is obligated to feed him because he saved her.
"Don't overthink it, alpha boy, I know I don't have to pay you back for saving me, but as long as you leave under my roof, I am cooking, and you are cleaning the dishes," she said with a playful smile on her face.
Sean found himself speechless. This woman can make him lose his speech faster than any other before. He found himself unable to reply back.
"I never agree to that," he said after a few minutes of silence.
"You just did," she said still with a playful tone, enjoying his confusing face.
"Well played," he said, winking at her. His face broke into a smirk that made Olivia's heart flutter. His entire body relaxed as he felt calmer than a few minutes ago.
"I will have to go to the university, and I will be back around noon. I won't be able to cook lunch, so you are free to eat whatever you please," Olivia informed him, and he just nod without stopping savoring the food on his plate.
Olivia stayed quiet for some time, amused by how hungry Sean looked and how silly the sounds he was making while swallowing the entire content of the plates in front of him. Before she decided to talk again, Sean turns to look at her with an expression of his face that she wasn't familiar with.
"What are you going to eat, don't tell me you are going to skip lunch," he asked like a parent asks his child.
Olivia's eyes widen, but she shook her head, trying to bring them back to their standard size.
"Em.. Well, I usually skip lunch.. but if I get hungry, I can always go to the cafeteria inside my university and grab something to eat," she said sheepishly as she was stunned by Sean's sudden worry about her eating habits.
"You shouldn't skip meals, it's not good for your health, and you need to be strong if you want to learn how to fight," he said with a soft voice that Olivia easily detects his concern behind it.
"Don't worry, alpha boy about me. This body is as healthy as it could be," she said, motioning her body, not realizing that Sean's eyes were turning a few shades darker.
As soon as he caught himself, he cleared his throat and lowered his eyes, watching the empty plate in front of him. Olivia didn't mind the attention his eyes showered her, as a smirk grew on her face. But she knew better not to follow that kind of path, she and Sean seemed to form a good friendship, and she is not one that makes friends that quickly, she wouldn't want to ruin it due to l**t and desire.
But they could eat together, I mean friends go out together for lunch, don't they?
"Sean.. you know.. well I was thinking..there is a nice diner further from my university..maybe you and I..go and eat" she stuttered
How that did happen, she thought with wide eyes, she always knows what to say but somehow she feels exposed when she is next to Sean, she can't be her cocky and sassy persona she is around people his kind. But he is different from all of them; hence, her character adapted for this peculiar individual. But they are just friends, heck not even friends, they are roommates, she thought inside her head.
Sean sensed that she was getting lost inside her head. It didn't take him long after meeting her to realize that Olivia is not like any other woman he ever met before. She is more composed, more confident, and very much independent. And definitely, someone who talks a lot and not one to stutter, yet she did. His assumptions were proven as he felt her body radiating uncertainty. He knew she was nervous.
Was she afraid to be seen with him? or maybe ashamed. I mean, he would had been embarrassed if he was in her place.
"You don't have to, I am sure I can find something to eat in here," he tried to assure her with a smile that didn't reach his ears. Even though he couldn't cook anything at all, not even boil pasta to save his life.
"I do have to alpha boy. If I leave you here alone, there are two outcomes, one you burn my kitchen down trying to cook or two, you starve yourself until I come back, and we can't have that, can we now?" Olivia said with her usual confident self, and of course, the smirk on her face couldn't made its presence.
Sean's eyebrows knit in confusion because both her assumption were absolutely true. He couldn't cook even if his life depended on it. As an alpha, cooking wasn't a skill that they cared to learned as they had other people to do it for them, but he was sure that he never mentions that he couldn't to her.
"How do you know that I can't cook?," he asked with a challenged yet playful tone and finished it off with a smirk on his face.
"No alpha in the world knows how to cook," she stated, smiling as she was finding the entire conversation and his shocked expression beyond amusing
"How do you know that? You seem to know a lot about my kind for a human," he said, equally confused and amazed of her knowledge about werewolves and alphas for that matter.
"Everyone has their secret alpha boy, join me today for lunch and maybe.. I said maybe I will let you know she said smiling knowing very well she won the argument.
Sean was never the one to admit defeat, but somehow he wouldn't mind now. He didn't mind one bit that Olivia outsmart him. Damn, she was so different, in the best way possible.
"Okay then," he said with a slight smile on his lips.
"Really," she asked with a chipper voice, not believing that he caved so easily, I mean, of course, he would cave at some point, but it was fast even for her records.
"Yes, really, just tell me where you will be, and I will meet you there," he said with a soft voice, his smile getting wider, showing his pearly white teeth. Once again his body on its own accord reached closer to her and placed his arms softly around her waist.
"Okay then," Olivia said with a wide smile on her face. Her body leaning closer to the warmth that was radiating from his body. She found herself leaning even closer, and before she realized what her body was doing, she kissed his cheek softly.
His body tensed as soon as her lips touched his skin, and he dropped his hands to his side. Olivia just realising what she did and how he reacted, she rushed out of the door without saying a word.
His body tensed as soon as her lips touched his skin but not because of the kiss, her kiss was soft and pure, something that a mother gave to her child, or one mate to another. That's when his body tensed, he found himself wanting more, to taste her, to pulled her closer to him, his hands wanted to explore her body, he wanted to keep her wrapped in his arms and never let her go. Her body made him warm inside, something he never experience before, not even with his real mate.
But that just it, he already found his mate, how can his body betray her like, she was his, the one that was made for him. Yet he couldn't understand why he felt that way when Olivia was around. How he felt so content when she hugged him or kissed him.
