Chapter6: Olivia

fter serving him one more dish of pasta, she watched in amusement how fast he ate it all, in one go. He must be starving she laughed to herself. She didn't realize she stopped eating and got lost watching him. Even if he is a werwolf, he is not the usual wolf she is familiar with. He wasn't rude or brutal in any way. He seemed more of like a lost puppy. Somehow,He reminded her of so much of her boss. As she was staring at him, she noticed that his body and posture were not as firm as before. His eyes lowered, and she knew that something was troubling his mind. Been her usual noisy self, her curiosity won over her logic, and she couldn't pretend that she didn't notice his sudden change. "What are you thinking," she asked softly, trying not to be heard too curious. She didn't get much of a reply, just the word nothing, but she knew better. Before, she could press on the matter, his eyes so breathtaking eyes bored into hers while his mouth parted to voice what was bothering his troubled soul. She knew that it was unheard of alpha to be rogue, but he wasn't the first one she met. Her boss was next in line to become an alpha before he decided following his heart and to reject the inherent title from his father was more important for him. She knew how sad he felt when he realized that his decision exiled him from his pack. She knew that wolves needed to be surrounded by other wolves, or else their innerwolf gets crazy. But the thing she can't figure out is why the man sitting in front of her held so much pain. Why did he decide to leave his pack if it pains him so severely? Maybe he had a reason too, one she doesn't need to know to comfort him. it felt so natural to her. "We all miss something in our lives. The thing to do is, to accept that you miss it and probably you will forever do but we must try to move on, even if it pains us to do so, that's the way to find inner peace and happiness" she told him, trying to comfort him with her words. Still, it seemed that it had the opposite effect. His shoulder lowered as well as his head. Before thinking her body moved on their own accord and went near him, she wrapped her arms around him, trying to give him the comfort he desperately needed. She wanted to provide him with the love and unity he so much needed, and it seemed to work. Sean lowers his head and snuggles on the side of her shoulder as his muscles relaxed. She felt his body radiating an unfamiliar warmth that wrapped her body like a fluffy blanket. She loved hugs, that was sure, but she never felt like that. She suddenly felt her body being pushed, and she fell, not so elegantly, on the floor. "Uff" she exhaled with her eyes closed as she felt her a*s hitting the cold tiles and a piercing pain run through her already pained body. She suddenly felt a warm arm touching hers, and she didn't need to open her eyes, to know it was Sean. "Are you okay.. I do.. am sorry," he said almost breathlessly, guilt lacing his voice. "It's okay. I should have asked first," she said tiredly as she willingly took Sean's hand to pull herself up. "I am sorry, I shouldn't have-" he said again, but Olivia cut him off with a smile "It's okay, alpha boy" she replies kindly, realizing how guilty he must feel. "Just don't do it again. Damn you are strong," she comments with the same kind smile on her face. Sean smiled back, but it didn't reach his ears. She knew from the emotions visible on his face, he acted before thinking, and she couldn't hold it against him. Sean stood awkwardly next to the table, not knowing what to do. Olivia showed him nothing but kindness. She had fed him when he was hungry and he pushed her already injured body to the ground. He placed his hands inside his jean pockets, debating if he should leave or not, before causing her more injuries. "Sean.." Olivia whispered, and his faced rose up to meet her eyes. She smiled warmly at him. Sensing that something was troubling him. "It's okay, I am fine, really," she tried to reassure him, but he shook his head. Olivia, with steady steps, went next to him and soothingly touched his arms. "You can wash the dishes, and everything is forgotten," she said with a small smile on her face. Her eyes were sparkling like a starry night. Sean nob and smile truly, one that reached his ears this time. "Deal" was all he said before taking both their plates to wash them. [ ] After Sean washed all the dishes and everything Olivia used to cook their meal, he turned around with a smile, filled with pride. "Done!" he said, very pleased with himself. "Very well, alpha boy" Olivia congratulate him giggling, like she will do to a five-year-old when they achieved something. Sean couldn't help himself but to stare at the beauty in front of him. Her giggles are the best music his ears ever heard. He knew that even if he had a mate, he never thought anything similar to what he thought about Olivia. He cleared his throat, trying to push those thoughts out of his head, but it was in vain. They are already there, she is already inside his head, and deep down, he knows she will stay there no matter how much he tries. "Can you teach me how to fight?" out of the bloom, Olivia asked, snapping him out of his trail of thoughts. "No," he said with a firm tone wanting to end the discussion. His alpha mode was on again. No woman needs to fight, he thought. In his pack, all women were protected. He didn't allow them to learn how to fight as it was not needed. But somehow, he knew that Olivia was no like the woman he met in his life. He understood why she had the need to fight. She needed to protect herself. "Why not" Olivia asked, surprised with her brows knot in confusion. Why was he refusing to teach her how to fight. Before he had the chance to refuse again, Olivia spoke again. "There are a lot of wolves out there, and not all of them are good. Well most of them are brutal, especially rogues, and I need to learn how to defend myself," she said in a serious matter. Desperately trying to make him understand her point of view.
