They Are Not Ordinary

CHAPTER 19

ASHTER STARR

As soon as the bell rang I practically jumped out of my seat and ran to the exit.

"Hey what's the rush? you are not going to train today?" Jane asked when she catch up with me.

"Yeah, actually I don't feel very well since morning, I just want to go home and rest" I lied to Jane once more. I felt really bad for lying so much.

"Yas same girl" She pointed to herself "But yeah I kinda notice you are not feeling well because you are acting weird since morning or more like anxious"

"Yeah, I feeling like passing out, to be honest," I told her, that was the truth because I kind of felt overwhelmed at everything it's like I am going to pass out anytime soon.

"Are you sure you can go home by yourself?" She asked worriedly.

"Yeah, I promise I can handle myself" I assured her as we walk to the parking lot together.

"Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off myself?" Jane offered politely.

"No it's alright I think I can still go home though but thanks for the offer Jane" I gave her a warm smile.

"Okay then, take care, I hope you will feel better soon Ash" Jane hugged me goodbye "Text me when you get home, I won't stop calling you if you don't"

"Yes, mom I will" I giggle at her before waving her goodbye for the last time before I drove off the parking to go home as fast as I can.

As soon as I parked my car in our garage I ran inside only to bump with my mom.

"Oops sorry" I apologized.

"Hi mom" I greeted her. Wow, they came home early today.

"Hello sweetheart, why are you home early? She asked as she sprayed perfume on her neck and her clothes.

"I just want to go home and rest because I don't feel well" I casually said. I hate that all I do was lie to everyone. Now I felt the consequences will come back to me anytime soon.

"Really? aww, my poor baby" She pouted as she hugged me tightly, I rolled my eyes at the gesture but appreciated it. "Anyways it's good timing because I made some soup and garlic bread. It's in the kitchen if you want you can go eat now"

"Yes, but I will eat later because I am still kinda full," I told her.

"Okay honey, there are some medicines there you can take it now so you will feel better" She smiled at me as she is getting ready to leave.

"Where are you going?" I asked as my dad came in the room and he had a nice tuxedo on.

"Oh we are going to some party with friends from work and they said to dress up nicely," My dad said "So... how do I look?"

"Dashing" I smiled at him causing both of them to laugh lightly.

"We are going to ask you that you could come but you said you feel sick so we are just going to leave you here to rest is that okay?" My mom asked

"Yep mom it's totally fine, I'm just gonna rest here"

"Okay so we will leave now, just call me when you feel worse or something come up okay? My mom and my dad kissed me on my forehead.

"Yes, mom. you guys enjoy there and have fun!" I waved goodbye at them before locking the front door and dashing up the stairs to my room.

I opened my door and a huge relief filled in me as I saw Damien still in my bed, Zachary who was sitting in my study chair next to Damien, and Claude sitting on the floor. They are all quiet and it looks like they are all in a deep thought, which kinda creeps me out because they look like freaking statues.

I smiled at them but it quickly fade away when I noticed that Damien look so much worse than I last saw him this morning.

"What is wrong? Did something happen while I was away? what happened to him?" I asked worriedly as I made my way next to Damien.

"He is not getting better for some reason, even though we already gave him out the best potion to heal" Zachary mumbled as he ran his hand through his mass of curls.

"Why?"

"We don't really know" He muttered, annoyance was visible in his voice so I didn't push him any longer.

Silence fell all over us.

"He can't stay here any longer" Zachary finally said after the uncomfortable silence that filled the room. I looked at him, completely confused at what he meant by that"

"He can't stay here" He reiterated

"Yeah I know, he can't stay here in my house obviously because I can't hide him in here forever" I responded.

"No, I mean he can't stay here" He emphasized by gesturing the whole place in his hands. I still looked at him confused then it hit me.

"Like in this town?" I asked and I felt my stomach fall in realization.

"Yes we are going out of town, and we need to leave this town immediately" He simply said. I sighed and grabbed Damien's cold hands into mine.

"How long till you guys leave?" I frowned as I felt Damien weakly rub circles in my hands.

"Next week or maybe tomorrow"

"Tomorrow?" My headshot in his direction, as my eyes widen in shock.

"Yes, he can't stay here or else he will die" I winced at the word 'die'

"Do you want him to die like this?" He asked and I immediately shook my head.

"Okay, how long you guys will be gone?"

"Not sure. but it won't be quick either," He stood up from where he is sitting and walk towards me. "We might be gone for weeks and for sure months, I hope you are prepared for that Ashter"

Months?, He will be gone possibly for months. I don't think I can suffer that long but for the sake of him to live longer I have to wait.

"Okay fine I understand, but can you at least go to school tomorrow?"

"Why should we?" He raised his eyebrows.

"For Jane, I felt really bad for lying to her all the time and I don't think I can lie to her for months, so I just want you guys to tell her that you will be gone" I bit my lip nervously as I finished talking "Why don't you just tell her the truth so she can understand"

"No we can't do that, Jane will remain clueless about what we are, we don't want to get her life to endanger us by knowing what we are. We can't risk her life because we care for her" He went on.

"You shouldn't have known what we are in the first place but this jerk admitted it to you and now your life will be in danger too and so are we..." Zachary glared at Damien.

"She already knows what we are" Damien weakly countered.

"Yes but she doesn't have any proof back then until you told her" Zachary firmly told him. "Maybe use your head sometimes because you are putting someone's life at risk,"

"Just stop, fine you won't tell Jane what you are, but can you please make sure to go to school tomorrow or just sometime in this week since you still aren't sure when you are going to leave. Jane really misses you three and it's really not fair to have her worry like you have her do. It's really, inconsiderate, insensitive, and rude to leave your friend without saying and explaining anything and leaving her without saying goodbye. If you really care for her, you will tell her that you will be gone that's the least you could do for your friend. I feel really bad for her because she is losing her mind thinking that you guys don't what to be friends with her anymore, she is really having a hard time you know. So please for the sake of Jane's peace of mind visit her tomorrow" I softly said, as I also share my feelings of my own along with the speech I made because that's what I clearly feel sometimes.

There was a silence in the air again. I just sat there quietly as I patiently waited for them to answer.

"Fine, we will visit her" Zachary finally spoke "But Damien is not going to come since he still has a worse condition. don't worry we are going to explain to Jane that we are leaving because Damien is sick again"

"Well, that's nice to hear" I sighed in relief, even though we are still lying to her at least now she knows they will be gone. "Just be nice to her okay? I know she is really not showing her emotions but I can feel it"

"Yeah yeah, thanks though," Zachary muttered

"For what?" I asked confused at what he was thanking me for.

"For not spilling our true identity to Jane, I guess we can trust you after all" He shrugged as he made his way to the window "But one wrong move Ashter, you will be seeing hell"

"Yes of course" I gulped

"So we will be going now, we will be back later for some more medicine,"

With that Zachary and Claude left, leaving Damien and me alone.
