Alice Cullen stood by the stairs in her home. She had her arms crossed over her chest, and her eyes were trained on the Stanley girl. She had seen Eleanor coming. Her vision was part of the reason they had moved back to Forks. She never understood why it had taken so long for Carlisle and Eleanor to meet. She never understood why Edward had never read her mind. She didn't understand why she didn't see what Eleanor was capable of in her vision. She had been sitting on one of the couches in their living room for about thirty minutes. Alice could tell she was anxious. They were waiting for Carlisle to get home so he could explain to Eleanor what they were. Rosalie was slightly annoyed they were giving away their secret to a human. Alice knew she was happy Carlisle had finally found his mate. They all thought he deserved to finally be happy. Alice turned her head when she heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Edward came first, with Emmett and Rosalie following after him. Alice knew Jasper wouldn't be in the room until Carlisle got home. He didn't completely trust himself to be around the human. "He's here." Edward spoke quietly. "Good," Alice smiled, and went to sit next to Eleanor. Esme joined them in the living room, and Jasper soon walked in to stand behind Alice. "You're all going to be in here? Seriously?" Eleanor said, and rolled her eyes. "Yes. We all want to see your reaction... and your powers." Emmett smirked at the girl. Alice could tell that the two would get along. "What's going on?" Eleanor looked over as Carlisle entered the room. A small blush coloured her face as she looked him over, before looking back down at her hands. "We've decided to tell her," Edward sat down next to Emmett, "we wanted to wait until you got home." Carlisle nodded, and looked over at the girl. She studied her hands, desperate for this to be over, so that she could know what they were. "What do you already know?" Eleanor looked up and met Carlisle's gaze, "j-just that Edward can read minds." Carlisle hummed, and moved over to sit next to Rosalie, "do you know why he can read minds?" "If I did, I wouldn't be here right now," she said, annoyed. Rosalie raised an eyebrow, and looked over at Emmett, who was smiling. None of them expected her to have an attitude towards them. "Right," Carlisle cleared his throat, "we are different, as you expected. We don't want you to be scared when you find out what we are." She laughed, "what are you vampires or something?" The family froze and exchanged glances, "oh, my God." Eleanor glanced at each member of the family, "oh, my God, you guys are! I was totally joking about that but, holy shit." Carlisle stood up, "we're not going to hurt you." El scoffed, "yeah, okay. Jesus Christ, I knew you guys were weird, but not this weird! You're not going to suck my blood, right?" Emmett burst into laughter, as Rosalie and Alice giggled into their hands, "no. We drink animal blood. We actually consider ourselves vegetarians." Eleanor looked up towards Carlisle, and he slowly took a step towards her. She raised her hands to him, and a ball of energy shot out of her palm, causing his to fly back into the couch. The room grew silent again, as Eleanor's eyes widened. "I'm sorry." "You're okay Eleanor, we expected you to act like this," Esme smiled at her, after checking up on Carlisle. "Why don't you sit back down?" Eleanor nodded, and walked over to the couch. She set her shaking hands in her lap, and stared up at Carlisle, "I'm really sorry." Eleanor was scared. She was in a house full of vampires, and she had just attacked one of them. She had always told herself she was a monster, and after using her magic on someone - even if they were a vampire - she knew it was the truth. Carlisle smiled at her, "it's okay. Do you want to tell us what you can do?" El sighed, and looked down at her hands, "I can do a few things. Mental manipulation, telekinesis, energy manipulation. Sometimes, if I focus enough, I can read minds. Which is how I kind of found out about you guys." "How long have you been able to do that?" "Since I was ten. I don't like to use them much. I don't know how powerful I can be. When I attacked you, that was the first time I have ever done that." Carlisle looked at her in awe. He didn't expect someone like her to be his mate. He could tell she needed someone though, someone like him to help her with her abilities. "We're going to help you, El." Alice said, and moved closer to her, "you're not going to hurt anyone."
