Eleanor stared down at the picture in her hands. A soft smile fell upon her lips as she stared down at Carlisle's face. She hadn't let the picture out of her sight since she got back from the Cullen house. A knock sounded on her door, and she looked up at Jessica, "what's up?" "Please tell me why Bella Swan just called me and asked if we wanted to go see a movie tonight?" Jess held up her phone, and her eyebrows her raised. Eleanor frowned, "that's weird. What'd you say?" "Well I figured you would want to go, so I said we would," she shrugged, "we're leaving soon, so get ready. What're you looking at?" "Oh," she chuckled, and held up the picture, "I found it yesterday." "Where?" Jess came and sat next to Eleanor, and grabbed the picture. "I kind of went to their house." Jess shot her sister a look, then smiled down at the photograph, "you guys were cute." Eleanor blushed, "yeah we were." The twins laughed together, and Jessica gave Eleanor back her picture, "get dressed, El." She nodded. Eleanor glanced back down at the picture, and set it on her bedside table. She got up from her bed and walked over to her closet. After picking out an outfit, she slipped it on and did her makeup quickly. By the time she was done, Jess was yelling at her to meet her in the car. The movie was boring, but Eleanor sat through it for Bella's sake. She noticed her friend and sister didn't seem too into the movie either, and wondered why Bella even picked it. Maybe she was tired of sitting around her house. "I don't know why you wanna sit through all those zombies eating people, and no hot guys kissing anybody, it's gross," Jess complained as they walked out of the theatre, "like why are there so many zombie movies anyway?" Eleanor rolled her eyes, "some people are into those kind of movies, Jess." Bella was zoned out, as Jess kept chatting away, "like is it supposed to draw a parallel to leprosy? My cousin had leprosy, it's not funny, you know? And like is it supposed to be a metaphor for consumerism?" Jess kept talking, while Eleanor stared into the stores they passed, checking for any cute clothes, "like some girls like to shop... not all girls apparently. I was surprised you called at all actually. Like your depression thing. I'm totally, totally worried." "Jess, stop!" Eleanor hissed, and glanced over at Bella, who now looked uncomfortable, "talk about something else." Jess mumbled a 'sorry' underneath her breath as the trio passed a narrow side road. Eleanor glanced down at the men, who were looking at them, and trying to catch their attention, "what's up guys? What're you doing?" Bella gasped, loudly, and suddenly stopped. She stared into space, her mouth hanging open. Jess and Eleanor shared a look, "Bells? are you okay?" "I think I know those guys," Bella turned her attention back to the men on motorcycles, and Eleanor tilted her head in confusion, "I'll be right back." "Bella no!" Eleanor shouted after her, but Bella continued to walk off. Jess scoffed, and looked at her twin, "what the hell is she doing?" Eleanor ignored her, and watched as Bella climbed on the back of a man's motorcycle. She narrowed her eyes at the girl, and began to search her mind. Her eyes widened when she read the thoughts of Edward. In that moment, she was glad she could reach into her friend's mind. "Bella, what the hell were you thinking? Are you crazy?" Jess exclaimed, as Bella walked back to them. She seemed to be in her own little world, "I thought I saw something." 'Or someone,' Eleanor thought, bitterly. "You're insane. Or suicidal, actually. That homebody could've been a psycho, or something. I was about to end up in a FBI interview room, like some lame TV show." Jess rambled on, while Eleanor stared over at Bella. How had she seen him? "Wow, that was such a rush," Bella gasped. Eleanor raised her eyebrows, and Jess scoffed, "great so you're suddenly an adrenaline junkie now? That's cool! Next time, go skydiving or something, don't jump on to some random guy's motorcycle! Crazy!" Jess walked away, and Eleanor grabbed her friend's arm, "Bella, how did you see him? "You saw him too?" Eleanor lowered her head, and her eyes glowed red. Bella nodded in understanding, "I don't know how I saw him. Before he left, he made me promise not to put myself in danger. Maybe if I put myself in danger, I can see him." "Are you insane? Don't do this to yourself, Bella." Bella scoffed, "so why are you going to their house, if you're so much better then?" Eleanor glared at Bella, and released her arm, "I went over there to see if it would make me feel better. And it did, actually. Bella, I miss them everyday, but I know Carlisle wouldn't want me to put my life on pause because they left. Edward wouldn't want you to either." The brunette fell silent, and Eleanor sighed. She nudged Bella's shoulder, and nodded her head in Jess's direction, "let's go home." --- Eleanor's phone rang, and she reached over to her bedside table to answer it, "hello?" "Hey," Bella's voice came through the speaker, "what're you doing?" "Um, nothing," Eleanor shut her textbook, "why?" "Want to go to Jacob's house with me?" "Um, sure, when wi-" Eleanor was cut off. "Great, I'll be there in 10." Bella hung up her phone, and Eleanor pulled hers away from her face. She stared at her phone in confusion, before she got up and threw on a pair of jeans. Eleanor pulled her hair back into a ponytail, and grabbed her phone and jacket. Bella honked the horn to her truck, "I'll be back!" Eleanor ran out to Bella's truck, and climbed into the passenger seat. She looked over at Bella with raised eyebrows, "so why are we going to Jacob's?" "You'll find out when we get there," Bella said. Eleanor narrowed her eyes at her, but turned around to view the back of the truck. She noticed the tarps in the back, covering something quite big. She figured she'd just leave Bella alone, and figure out what they were when they got to his house. The ride to La Push went by quickly, and the two were soon pulling up to a small red house. Jacob ran out of the barn when he heard the car pull up. Once Bella got out of the truck, he smiled and wrapped her in a hug, "Bella! Where have you been loca?" Bella laughed, awkwardly, and pulled back from the hug, "I uh, brought you something." Eleanor watched her friend pull down the tailgate and remove the tarp. Eleanor immediately glared at Bella. She was now certain that her friend was an i***t. "Wow, scrap metal!"Jacob exclaimed, sarcastically, "you shouldn't have." 'Yeah, you really shouldn't have,' El thought, bitterly. "...but then I thought that if I have a mechanic-type friend to help me out, they could be pretty nice," Bella explained. Jacob smirked, "me being the mechanic friend right? Since when are you into motorcycles anyway?" "Since now," Bella replied, and Eleanor rolled her eyes, "I get it if you think this is completely stupid and reckless," "I do," Eleanor spoke up. "Nice to see you again, Eleanor," Jacob smiled, and turned his attention back to Bella, "when do we start?" Bella smiled, "now, please. Just be careful getting those out, they're pretty... heavy." Eleanor watched, shocked, as Jacob pulled out the motorcycles with ease, "you're buff, how did that happen? You're like sixteen, I don't get it." Jacob laughed, and pushed the bikes over towards his garage, "age is just a number, baby. What're you now, like forty?" Bella just laughed. --- A few days passed since they had started to work on the bikes. Eleanor liked to hang out with him and Bella. It took her mind off the vampires. Jacob pulled out a few tools, and began to work on the bikes. El spotted a radio next to her, "you mind if I turn on the radio?" "Go ahead," Jacob said. El smiled, and turned on the radio. Soft rock music came out of the speaker and filled the quiet garage. She noticed Bella frown, but didn't say anything. Another song came on, and Bella stood up to turn the radio off. Eleanor gave her a dirty look, "that song was good. Why'd you turn it off?" "I just don't really like music anymore, I guess," she mumbled, and sat back down by Jacob. "Okay," Jacob sighed, "no more music." "So I was thinking if we do this everyday, and hopefully we will, we have to fit homework in there somewhere. I don't want Billy thinking I'm a bad influence on you." "You? A bad influence on me? Please," he scoffed, causing Eleanor to chuckle. Bella looked taken aback, "I'm older than you. That makes me the influencer and you the influence." "No, no, no. My size and knowledge base actually makes me older than you... and you," Eleanor shot him a look, "because of your general paleness and lack of know-how." "I convinced you to build two-wheel death traps with me," she argued, "so doesn't that make you funny, young and naive?" "I think it's a bad idea," Eleanor said. Jacob sat up from the ground, and looked at both the girls. "So where do we stand?" "I'm 35. You might be like 32. Eleanor is definitely 43." "Hey!" Eleanor exclaimed. Jacob and Bella laughed, "Jake! Are you in here?" Eleanor turned her head to see the two boys from the beach walk in. She couldn't remember their names, "Hey, guys this is Bella and Eleanor. Girls, this is Quil and Embry." Eleanor smiled at the two. Quil raised his hand and waved, "I'm Quil. So the bike building story is true?" "Oh yeah, I taught him everything I know," Bella teased. "What about the part where you're his girlfriend," Quil said. Eleanor frowned and looked over at her friends. Jacob was blushing, while Bella just looked at the boys, "Um, we're just friends." "Oh, burn!" Embry laughed. "Actually, I remember I said that she's a girl and my friend," Jacob explained. "Embry, do you remember him making that distinction?" Quil smirked. "Nope," he laughed, and high-fived Quil. "So do you guys have girlfriends then?" Eleanor asked, narrowing her eyes at them. Bella and Jacob snickered, and Embry smiled, "is that an offer?" She rolled her eyes, and Jacob spoke up, "yeah right, Quil's taking his cousin to prom." Eleanor giggled, and stood to walk over to Bella, "you want funny, Black? I'll give you funny." Jacob stood up to grab a tool, and Quil lunged at him. Eleanor's eyes widened, as she watched the two fight. She felt a nudge at her shoulder, and looked over to Embry and Bella, "I got five bucks on Quil." Eleanor and Bella shared a look, "you're on."
