Chapter 9 I scanned the road side carparks looking for a spare. At this rate I’d be driving around forever. Up ahead I spotted a car reverse out only a few hundred metres from my destination. Perfect. I drove in with a smug satisfaction. It was Wednesday afternoon and I’d left Nick and one of our other staff members to lock up the café so I could meet with Anna. I’d almost walked out earlier, thanks to Nick. Not only had he overcharged one of our regulars and failed to apologise, but he had also dropped a hot cappuccino on a customer’s lap and then tried to make a joke about it.
