Jareth!

Chapter 1 ❂︎︎ Dreams! Sarah POV Sara Willams finds herself wide awake in the middle of the night. She still could not fall asleep. Ever since her step brother Toby had passed away, she could not sleep. You see what made matters worse was the night before that she overheard her parents talking about taking her to a clinic to seek help for her depression. Sara thought maybe it was a good idea. She had lost her job in town after high school. She was keeping herself from her friends. She could not understand why things happened this way. She fought so hard to be a good sister for Toby. All for nothing that was what it had been for. Nothing. She once found Toby was kidnapped by the goblin king Jareth. It was her own fault. She had gotten him back. And her parents never knew about that. She tried to tell her dad about that. But he found her to be insane. That she spent too much time into her fairy tale world. When her mother had passed away fairy stories brought her life. Helped her escape her harsh world. Now she lost her mother and Toby. Sarah wandered into Toby's nursery. There was a lightning storm just as there had been years ago. When the goblin king first took Toby from her. If only he had Toby now. But he did not. Toby was gone forever. Their family would never be the same ever again. She had left her teddy bear Lancealot in his crib. Lighting struck loudly giving her the shivers. She picks up the teddy bear. Tears come to her as she holds the bear close to her chest. She glances out the window. A pure white owl flaps his wings trying to enter the room. Her heart began to race like crazy. Could it be?! ☪︎︎ ✫︎☪︎︎ ✫︎☪︎︎ "Sara what on earth are you doing up at this time of night dear?" her step mother asks as she turns on the light in the bedroom causing Sarah to drop Lancealot onto the ground. "I saw something outside the window. It startled me" softly answers Sarah. "You need to go to bed. Do you want some warm milk? It could help you get to sleep?" offers her step mother. Sarah shakes her head no. "No, I do not want that. I will head to bed. You do not need to worry about me" she replies dully. "Your father and I are very worried about you. We all miss Toby dear. I know you took it hard after losing your mother and Toby" says her step mother. "I said I will be fine" mutters Sarah. "Good night" She leaves the room then heads back to her bedroom. She shuts the door behind her. The storm raged out outside. She wondered if that owl was around? That owl was the goblin king. He came to her in owl form. In the dead of the night flew in the window to her side. Sarah went over to her window. Opening the shutters a bit. She had rain splatter on her face. No owl was in sight. She was imaging things. She got her book out about the goblin king. The underground world. She wondered if she could ever return there? She was an adult now after all. Maybe she could never return to see them. Her friend Hoggle. To Jareth. Would she never see them again? Was it all a dream after all? Was she really crazy? Sarah grew tired trying to figure it all out that night. She gets in her bed. Crawls under her covers. Tears come to her eyes as she lays her head down on her pillow. The storm really brewed out there. ☪︎︎ ✫︎☪︎︎ ✫︎☪︎ "I wish...."she speaks out loud. It was no use to wish. She was no longer a child. Wishes never came true. "If I could wish, well I wish the goblin king would come take me away from this awful place" yawns Sarah as her eyes grow heavy as she stopped fighting her sleep. She hugged her pillow to her chest as she fell into her slumber for the rest of the night. "Sarah..." "Sarah..." "Oh Sarah" "Who is there?" stammers Sarah as she wipe the sleep from her eyes. She sits up awakened in her bed. She had been in slumber for a few hours. She glances over at her clock that was on her night stand. "Sarah" a male voice calls to her. "Jareth ?" she answers. "Why do you want me to take you away from here? You're not a babe?" he laughs softly as he forms before her glitter dust settles in a fog there around him. "I hate it here Jareth" she says. "they all think I am crazy" "But you're not crazy" he says to her. "I know that but they think I am" she tells him. "I can never do anything right" "Sarah, you know that is not true. It is all in your mind" he tries to tell her. "Can you take me away or not? Was that all a lie before?" she challenges him. "No, I can give you all your wildest dreams come true. You know I can Sarah" he offers. "Then do it. Take me away from here" she begs him. "Away from this awful place" she says. "You're wish is my command dear Sarah" Jareth says softly to her as he rolls a crystal ball in between his hands. Her eyes focus on the ball in front of her. "Sarah, Sarah you were having a bad dream. Wake up" calls her dad as he shakes her wake gently. "Dad, was I? Was it a dream? Did you see Jareth?" yawns sleepy Sarah she looks up to see only her dad there before her. Jareth was gone. He had promised her. Maybe she imagined what she wanted to. He never really was there after all. Sadness comes over her. Of course it was all a dream. Everyone always told her it had all been just a dream. "Sarah want me to get your medicine so you can sleep?" offers her dad. "I will be fine. I promise dad" she yawns. He hugs her. "It will be fine Sarah. We all will be okay. Things like this take time. Healing" says her dad. "good night Sarah" He leaves the room.
