The Meeting From His Perspective

Dominic Black's POV Getting woken up at 3 in the morning because an intruder is trespassing on your land is already a mood-killer.  Getting woken up because a member from the famous De Tarylius family is trespassing on your land is just plain bizarre and annoying.   My warriors mind-linked me saying that the female in question was now waiting in the first's floor office.  I sighed, put on some decent clothing and headed downstairs.  The more I walked towards the office's doors, the more my wolf became restless. 'What is wrong with you?' I questioned Mort. 'I don't know, I just feel something is going to happen' he returned, with a hint of excitement. 'Good or bad?' 'Uh..' He brusquely shut up when I opened the double doors leading to the office.  The scent of honey and citrus immediately hit my nose and my wolf silently purred in the back of my mind.  Confused, my gaze fell on the small girl in front of me and I had to force myself not to gasp at her beauty.  She had brown auburn hair that fell just below her breasts and had different colour eyes; one was light hazel, almost golden with the light's reflection and the other one was a deep turquoise.  She had an adorable small round nose and freckles that decorated her cheeks like stars. As claimed, the Goddess's mark resided in the middle of her forehead, glowing brighter than the moon itself.  Considering she was seated, I couldn't tell her height exactly but I was guessing in the five foot five no more.  Noticing that I was staring, I cleared my throat and let out a "Hello." I waited for her reply but she seemed so fixated on me that I didn't think she even heard.  Chuckling silently to myself, I repeated, this time, a little more loud and authoritative: "Hello." That seemed to get her out of her trance.  She looked up and our eyes locked together.  "U-uhm, hello..." her crystal voice resonated in the room. Why does she look so adorable? "Your name" I ordered in my Alpha tone. "Zara. Zara De Tarylius."  "So I've been told.  What brings a De Tarylius on my land?" As much as her family is held in the highest of regards, they are not above the Laws.  It's just normal that I question her intentions. 'But why do you have to do it so coldly?' my wolf, Mort, asked with a small whimper. 'It's official Alpha business, I can't afford to look weak.  Especially to the De Tarylius family.' I retorted, puzzled as to why my wolf was acting like a lovesick puppy.  A thought flashed through my mind. 'Is she our mate?' I enquired to Mort. 'I don't know. I just feel a pull towards her, but not strong enough for a mate bond.' he stated. Interrupting my wondering thoughts about if she looked older than 18 (the age to which werewolves are capable of sensing their mate), the female started babbling. "Oh.. just non-official business.  Personal reasons. I was really just passing through. I'm sorry for the bother and all the dramatics. I didn't even know I was on your claimed lands but your warriors wouldn't let me go, so I had no choice but to pull the family name card, even though I hate doing it.  I swear there were no disrespect meant towards you, Alpha. I would've contacted you for permission if I could.. and knew but―"  "What personal reasons?" I cut her. She shot me the deadliest glare I have ever seen and my wolf immediately whimpered.  It was clear her reasons were deeply personal and that she didn't want anyone to know. "You're on my land. If you want to get out of here alive, I suggest you answer all my questions with the utmost transparency and honesty." I growled with as much aggressiveness I could mutter up, which was surprisingly difficult for some reasons.  "With all due respect, I don't owe you s**t. You can kill me if you want but at this point, I really don't care anymore.  I told you that my passing on your land was a mistake and that I genuinely apologise for it, but our relation stops at that.  As much as I can feel the sheer power rolling off of you in waves, you are not my  Alpha." I let out a loud snarl dripping with hostility . It definitely was the first time a stranger disrespected me in such direct manners and I was not  tolerating it. "You are walking on a very thin line.  I could chain you right now and make you beg me to kill you in mere minutes." I looked at her with daggers in my eyes. She suddenly stood up with such force that the chair slid to the other side of the room. "And I could have you beg me to send you to hell by burning you alive right here, right now." she seethed through her pearly white teeth. "I suggest you show at least some level of respect to a member of the De Tarylius family." 'I guessed wrong. She's maybe five foot one, maybe two.' I thought to myself with a frown. We then started a stare down, both of us not uttering a sound.  I was blazing with fury and discontentment and the most weird thing about it was that I was furious at myself.  I threatened to torture her! And then I made her angry! 'You're such an idiot.' sulked Mort. I mentally rolled my eyes at my wolf.  I took deep breaths to calm down and analysed the female in front of me. "For someone who said she didn't like playing the family card, you sure take advantage of it often." I remarked coldly. She blushed a deep red, which made my heart stop for a second. "Well, for someone who is an Alpha, you sure don't feel any more powerful than an Omega." she sputtered out awkwardly.  My anger and coldness dropped instantly. I was now amused with her temper. "Did you not say, and I quote: 'as much as I can feel the sheer power rolling off of you in waves, you are not my Alpha' just 5 minutes ago?" I mocked her, wanting to push her a little bit more. "Oh shut up." she muttered, glaring at me, her blush deepening even more. I laughed silently and then took a moment to really analyse the beautiful female in front of me.  She was just so drop-dead gorgeous that my breathe hitched when her eyes found mine.  The moment was interrupted when her stomach growled. I frowned. "How long have you been running away?" I softly asked. "What makes you think I'm running away?" she shot back. I shrugged. If she didn't want to tell me, I was definitely not going to force her to do anything.   "Consider yourself a guest here. At least... for the moment." I added with hesitation. She looked at me carefully with caution, waiting for an explanation. 'She needs food,' Mort interjected. 'I know.  She's so skinny and pale.  The bags under her eyes also tells me that she's had a rough few past days.' I shared with my wolf.  I cleared my throat and offered her simple explanation. "You don't seem like a threat to my pack.. yet. I do not see any reasons why I should consider you my prisoner, other than the fact that you have a smart tongue and a wild temper." I smirked lightly. She stayed silent for a moment, probably thinking about the offer. She then opened her mouth and blurred out: "What does being a guest here entails? For how long can I stay? Not that I want to stay forever, just curious. Also, is it mansion the pack house? Why haven't I seen anyone else? Also, I didn't catch your name.  And no offence, but I never heard of the Blood and Bones pack―" My jaw clenched at the mention of my pack.  "You can stay for a week. This is not the pack house, this is where I, my Beta, Gamma and Delta lives. And my pack is none of your concern" I stated, all amusement in my voice having long disappeared. She gazed at me for a moment, then nodded without saying anything. I pushed the button on my desk and said:  "Maria, if you could please take this lady to a guest room." Seconds only passed before the Omega entered the room and asked Zara to follow her. I watch her hesitantly look at me before moving towards the door, where the Omega opened the doors for her.  Before she put a foot outside the frame, I coughed. "Also... it's Dominic. Dominic Black."
