Chapter 15The Great Buffalo Hunt
Just after the first week in December, Charles woke up to a slight snow that covered the street and roof tops. He had already discussed this day with Sarah and Ezekial. The winter stock had been ordered and shelved. He would have liked to have taken the young boy with him, who by now seemed almost like his own son. He wanted to share the experience of a hunt with Ezekial, as his father had with him. He knew that Sarah would need him there with her though. So by the time Sarah and Ezekial arrived, Charles had two wagons hitched, with two horses tied off behind. He had Ezekial help him load two hundred pounds of salt and enough grub for a dozen men to eat on for three weeks.
