The house was quiet when we returned. Neither Kevin nor Vanessa was in sight. All the employees retired to their house. The manor appeared deserted. I had never cared to observe how it was after everyone went to bed. Such a big house with no traffic was like a hollow cave.
Javian left me and went to his office. I departed to my room, wondering if Kevin was asleep. He didn't seem like the type of person to sleep early. Even at ten in the night, he had more energy than a child. Still, if he was sleeping, I didn't want to be the one to wake him.
Then again, if the tables were turned, he wouldn't care. He would have come to my room whether I was sleeping or not. It would be good to give him a dose of his own medicine every once in a while.
