My eyes snapped open and I glanced down at my sleeping mate in my arms, feeling slightly confused as I thought I had heard her calling for me. Strange, it must’ve been a dream. She felt warmer now and I was happy to know that I had provided her with it when she needed it. Just as I was about to close my eyes again and dwell on the feeling of finally having her in my arms like that, a distant buzzing caught my attention. Carefully, I withdrew my arm, stood up and glanced around, using all of my senses to find out what was going on. I couldn’t see anything, yet, but the buzzing came closer along with the distinct smell of gasoline.
