“What do you mean?” I demanded a little harsher than I had intended. She held up the strange rectangular thing, as if showcasing it before her hands fell into her lap in defeat.
“When you said that they knew exactly where to find us, I remember that I brought my phone with me. Not intentionally, of course, but it’s always in my bag and I didn’t bring it to make it easier for them to find you. I just… I’m really sorry.” Her cheeks were covered in tears and I could tell that she was really sorry, but honestly, I didn’t understand half of what she had just told me.
“What is this?” I asked her softly, pointing to the thing in her lap.
“It’s a phone.” She explained with a small frown on her face. “We sort of use it in the same way you use mind link.” Oh, that explained everything.
