OLIVIA RETURNED, WITH A CROW

1300 Words
"Wahhh!" catching her deep breath. Olivia suddenly woke up and sat up in bed. Only she found out that she was lying in the master bedroom. The familiar yet strange surroundings made her stiffly look around, cold sweat dripping from her forehead and down her straight, silky hair. The blanket with two blue line patterns, the warm white chandelier, the beautiful morning glory plants by the window. The pink carpet covered every corner of the room, the entire decor quite extraordinary. Olivia moved her fingers slightly, touching the soft blanket. Since being imprisoned, she hadn't slept in bed. Until Olivia recoiled her hand as if electrocuted. The room was so quiet it felt like it didn't even exist. She lowered her head slightly, revealing arms covered in bruises and scars, with hardly a patch of unblemished skin. Here I am now! Yes, I was still alive?! Olivia laughed out loud. She thought that she was dreaming all night. But who is that man I talk to? I didn't even know his name. she talked to herself again. It was hard to say which realization was more shocking. Filled with confusion and fear, Olivia quickly got out of bed. She didn't bother putting on shoes and ran barefoot to the window. I'm back... she whispered in the air. "Kwak.Kwak!" Olivia hear it. When she looked on the left side where the branch of narra tree was, there was one black crow!" "Ah.ho! funny ever! That man is really exist! But for now, both of you will stay in my dream!" Olivia says it loud to the crow. "Kwak.kwak!" seems that the crow responded. Having been in darkness for so long, Olivia's found the bright sunlight. blinding and instinctively closed her eyes. After a moment, she finally managed to adjust to the light. The brilliant, warm sunlight felt incredibly precious to her. Knock, knock! "Madam, are you awake?" A familiar and kind voice accompanied the knocking on the door. Olivia Hermstein jolted in surprise. Madam? Hadn't I divorced Tristan Emerson? Could it be... A flash of realization struck her mind. Olivia rummaged through the bedside drawers and found her smart phone. When she saw the date displayed was three months earlier, she broke out in a cold sweat. Had I... been reborn?! The servant outside called out several more times before Olivia snapped back to reality. She hurriedly straightened her clothes and finally responded, "Yes, I'm awake." The person outside had clearly been paying attention to the commotion inside the room. Just as Olivia answered, the maid walked in, carrying a cup of warm milk. "Madam, this is the warm milk that Master instructed me to bring you," the maid said politely, holding out the cup to Olivia. Olivia stared at the cup, momentarily stunned. Her eyes grew hot, and tears welled up. Seeing this, the maid assumed that Madam was still angry with Master and quickly said, "Madam, Master isn't as indifferent as he seems. He cares about you deeply." Olivia nodded vigorously in agreement. Tristan Emerson truly cared for her. The problem was that in her past life, she hadn’t learned how to appreciate him. She had been misled by dishonest people, which not only hurt her but also caused pain to him. "Madam, you... you aren't fighting with Master again, are you?" the maid asked nervously, making Olivia laugh. In her previous life, she had tried to make Tristan Emerson despise her, causing chaos in the entire Emerson Family. She had made this woman maid pull out all the grass in the backyard and ordered others to steam the expensive fish in the pond, each worth thousands of dollars. No wonder this woman was worried. "Did Tristan go to the office?" she asked, her eyelashes trembling, avoiding the question. The maid noticed something different about Mrs. Olivia's demeanor, though she couldn't quite a pinpoint what it was. She answered truthfully, "Yes, the young master hasn't returned since he left last night." Olivia thought for a moment and then remembered the events from over three months ago. Feeling a bit awkward, she said, "I see. You may leave now." "Yes, ma'am." As the maid left, she closed the door behind her. Olivia held the warm glass of milk and drank it all in one go. Perhaps having witnessed the darkest parts of the world, she now cherished everything around her even more. Stepping in front of a full-length mirror, she looked at her reflection in her pajamas, her gaze sharp and determined. Since she had returned, it was time to settle the grudges from her past life. In her previous life, Olivia's heart had been entirely devoted to the scoundrel Marcus. She was forced to marry Tristan Emerson, a man rumored to be disabled and cold-hearted. Unwilling to accept her fate, she tried desperately to escape from Tristan. No matter how gently Tristan treated her, she schemed to leave him, all for the sake of being with her so-called prince charming, Marcus. Perhaps as karma, she met a tragic and miserable fate. This time, Olivia had come to understand her true feelings. And that is to cherish those who truly love her, is what matters most! Olivia reviewed the dates on her smartphone. Then she remembered, she had returned to the time when she and Marcus were caught eloping by Tristan Emerson. Back then, Marcus had called her, pouring his heart out and insisting he couldn't wait any longer and wanted to take her away. He also told Olivia to pack her things and wait to the east garden of the villa's backyard that night. Blinded by love, Olivia didn't suspect a thing. She clumsily made excuses to send the servants away and waited to the east garden for Marcus to come and take her away. Marcus did show up eventually, but not with genuine intentions of taking her away. From the start, it was all a trap that was set against her. Before Marcus arrived, Fiona had already tipped off Tristan Emerson. The servants weren't sent away by her flimsy excuses, they left because Tristan had ordered them to. He wanted to see if she would really run away with another man. That day, Tristan Emerson canceled a company's meeting, and drove back home urgently, and ultimately witnessed Olivia's betrayal with his own eyes.Tristan had stormed in with a dark expression and brutally beaten Marcus. At that time, Olivia didn't understand. She resented Tristan for showing up at the wrong moment and was furious at him for attacking Marcus. She screamed all the harshest words she could think of. Eventually, with Olivia trying to stop the fight, Marcus limping and holding his bruised and swollen face, was helped away by Fiona, who had just arrived. Olivia felt incredibly guilty, believing she had caused trouble for Marcus. She didn't suspect Fiona, her sister at all for showing up in time to take Marcus away. After they walked out, Tristan Emerson, still seething with anger, pulled Olivia into the room. He took her by force, leaving her feeling completely helpless. It wasn't until Olivia was completely exhausted that Tristan put on his clothes and left home. But he ordered to all of his maid to have someone watch her 24/7 to prevent her from escaping again. Compared to those deceitful people and everyone else, she sadly realized that the only person who truly loved her in her previous life was Tristan Emerson. Ironically, she had hurt the man who loved her the most. Olivia tightened her fists, making a silent promise to herself that this time around, she would seize Tristan Emerson's golden opportunity with both hands and make amends for the mistakes she had made in the past. "Kwak.kwak" seems like the crow from the outside, listened to her thoughts.
