"I know you're mad at me, that's why I'm here in front of you now, I have to face you, to say that I want to change all my wrong decisions, especially the hurtful words I said to you. Our divorce? I won't continue because I've come to the conclusion that you're right. Maybe I was just carried away by my feelings"
Olivia cried while saying this word. She was about to kneel in front of Tristan to beg. But she knew that at least Tristan would listen to her.
"I've been denying myself from the things I want for a long time, so I thought you were one of the obstacles. I've been looking for someone who can help me so I can freely do that things. So I thought, maybe I just need to separate myself from you. I'm not worth it for your love. Doing what I want is unfair to you. Afraid, that I will not be a good wife." Olivia added.
After speaking, Olivia wasn't entirely sure if Tristan would agree. His deep gaze made Olivia's heart race, but she stubbornly and firmly looked up at him, refusing to look away.
Tristan's heart softened a little. In the end, he swallowed the refusal he was about to utter. After looking at her for a long time, he slowly said, "Alright."
That simple word carried all of Tristan's affection and trust for Olivia. Even Olivia couldn't hold back her emotions any longer. Her eyes welled up with tears as she threw herself into Tristan's arms once again.
"Thank you, thank you so much, Tristan," Olivia said, her voice trembling with gratitude. She didn't know what else to say, so she just kept repeating her thanks. Her hands clutched on her husband's shirt tightly, and before he could react, Olivia's soft lips brushed against his in a fleeting kiss.
Before Tristan could really get into the kiss, Olivia suddenly pulled back, her cheeks flushing a bright red. Seeing her like that, Tristan felt a wave of relief wash over him.
"This is your last chance, If you mess up again... I won't hesitate to clip your wings myself!"
Tristan thought to himself.
"The dinner is ready. Next time, sleep in your room," Tristan said, his gaze falling on the shoes by the lounge chair, signaling her to put them on.
Olivia quickly slipped on her shoes and stood beside him.
In the dining table, Olivia began placing food into Tristan's bowl. Wh been 4x seeile his hand, holding the chopsticks, paused for a moment before he ate everything she served him. The scene was oddly harmonious and strangely eerie. One of the maids, came and opened her mouth to say something but wisely stepped back, watching the couple's sweet momentum., one of them whispered to a colleague, "they're so sweet, it's like they're in a new relationship"
After finishing the meal, Tristan returns to his study room. Then Olivia doesn't hesitate to follow him later.
"Come in." Tristan's voice answered from inside the study room
Olivia obediently walked in and immediately saw her husband standing by the window, smoking with his back to her. In her past life memories, Tristan didn't smoke often. Or rather, there was an incident where she got choked by the smoke, and since then, she hadn't seen him smoke again.
"Starting tomorrow, you can go out, but you must take one of my men with you." Tristan announced. His voice interrupted her drifting thoughts.
"Okay," Olivia agrees, but she couldn't help it and coughed twice from the smoke.
The moment Tristan heard her cough, he turned his head quietly. Noticing her slight frown, he made a quick decision to stub out his cigar and toss it into the trash can.
Olivia caught this small gesture, and her eyes immediately welled up with tears. In her previous life, Tristan often assigned one of his men to follow her, a guard with high standard of training that was hired by him, and each of them has its own code name.
In this life, Olivia knew that Tristan had sent someone to protect her for one reason, but also to prevent her from escaping. But she didn't care, because she had no intention of running away this time.
"How about we make a deal?" Olivia spoke up first.
Tristan Emerson looked at her with some confusion, not understanding what she meant by this.
"First, trust me. Second, don't interfere with what I do. Third, never divorce me." Olivia spoke each word carefully, looking earnestly into his eyes.
Tristan Emerson didn’t jump to a conclusion right away. Instead, he frowned, looking a bit perplexed. When Olivia noticed his reaction, she felt a wave of sadness. She knew Tristan was a brilliant minded in the world of business, always exuding confidence and a touch of arrogance in everything he did. You’d never catch a hint of insecurity or confusion on his face. He was like a steadfast ruler, unwavering in his demeanor.
But when it came to Olivia, Tristan seemed to be always uncertain. He had no way to deal with her, except to spoil her endlessly. So until this time, Olivia really wanted to ask him, what had she done to deserve this?
"Alright" Tristan finally said, and nodded.
Hearing what he said, Olivia looked at him so intensely. After successfully closed their agreement, their relationship unknowingly grew closer.
After the conversation, Olivia knew she couldn't rush things, so she obediently returned to the master bedroom alone. After Tristan mentions that he has an online meeting, that will be started in a few minutes.
The next morning, as soon as Olivia opened her
eyes, she instinctively reached out to touch the empty space beside her.
For some reason, she had a strong feeling that Tristan, her husband had been in the study room last night. She lay in bed for a long time, letting her mind drift, before slowly getting up to wash and head downstairs.
As soon as she reached the living room, she saw a strange man sitting motionless on the sofa, reading a newspaper as if no one was around.
Olivia felt a sudden jolt in her heart and quickened her pace with excitement. "Do I know you?!"
Olivia knew that there were five of Tristan's personal body guards, but this one was new to her, the sixth one who seemed to have been newly hired just to guard her?
The strange man put down his hands, holding the newspapers, and placed them on the surface of a small table, in the front. His handsome face shows up, his newly cut hair makes him look like a gentleman she'd ever seen. Then he stand up, and turned his gaze to Olivia and greet her.
"Good morning, Madam.... Olivia!"
Hearing that voice, Olivia was stunned for a moment, she really didn't expect this to happen. Then she opened her mouth to respond. "Bra.Brandon? is that you?"
