MISTREAT

Brandon looked at the woman in front of him, dressed in slack black pants and white shirt of off-shoulder. He felt his usual stern expression start to crack. He couldn't help but wonder if he had done something wrong recently to upset the boss... Olivia? Why would Tristan Emerson entrust his wife to him? What on earth was he thinking? Did he know that Brandon was not a human, that he is from the underworld? Olivia quickly approached Brandon, with her heads up, and interrogative words. "Explain, you told me I was the only one who could see you from the black shadows, why are you here in front of me now? Why are you dressed like that? What are you doing here?" "I am the prince of the "gate keepers" naturally I know how to handle humans in this world." Brandon responded in his calm voices. His aura is different now, from pale skin, now he has a normal warm-toned skin. His face is also clean, freshly shaved. "Do you mean you can talk to everyone here? Tristan, my husband did you talk to him?" Olivia's voice cracked because she was surprised by his unique ability. Above all, no one should know her secret, that she died and came back to life. But when she returned to the real world, it seemed that she had a twin, Brandon the crow, who was always following her. And now that he had become a human, Olivia was also afraid, that her plan to change her past life might be ruined. "Last night, I was about to check on you, but I found your husband Tristan made a call, he requested the security agency to hire another one, to be your "body guard"?" "And so? what did you do?" Olivia asked. "Well, I was bored being a crow, so I think that being human is fun." "Is that all?" Olivia asked again. She wasn't happy with the thought. Brandon turned his head to the small table and handed the brown envelope to Olivia "The agency released my ID, as my personal data, then I have here the copies of our contracts. It seems that this is an agreement from my agency and my new employer." "Keep this for your own safety, you don't know my husband Tristan. What are you thinking is wrong, you shouldn't do this!" Olivia's voice grew louder, filled with frustration, as she realized she wasn't convinced that their situation would hold. She felt trapped, caught between the two of them. "Don't worry I can handle this. I know my place." Brandon said and made her win. Olivia cared about him, but of course she loves her husband now, earning trust from him is so hard. The thought of winning her husband's heart now, is possible because she has another person, a man that she needs to take care of. So she said, "This is just work, Brandon, nothing personal" "Copy on that, Madam. I won't interfere with your personal life." Brandon's voices made her calm. "Hayst! another headache." Olivia said and she walked away from him. Honestly Olivia had no idea what was going through Brandon's mind. She was just thrilled to see him standing there, safe and sound. "My wife, Olivia. I want you to protect her. She tried to escape before, and now that you're here, don't let her escape your grasp. Take her somewhere and bring her back home, safe and sound, are we clear?" Tristan urged the newly hired body guard, Brandon. "Yes Boss.!" Brandon said as he bowed his head slightly. After finishing breakfast, Olivia suddenly felt like going for a stroll. Following Tristan Emerson's orders, Brandon did not say much and drove her out. Olivia, who hadn't been out shopping for a long time, looked out the car window at the bustling streets filled with people. Her mood lifted even higher, and a smile stayed on her face the entire time. "Brandon let's go to the City mall" Olivia said quietly, turning her gaze to the driver’s seat where Brandon was sitting. The City Mall was a well-known brand for men and women's clothing. It wasn't just famous for its high-quality clothes, but also because it had an in-house foreign designer. In her previous life, Olivia had visited the City Mall a few times, but it was always to please Marcus. Brandon did not ask any questions. The car simply followed the GPS and drove Olivia to the entrance. As Olivia reached the door, she suddenly stopped and looked up at the store's logo, feeling a bit dazed. "What now? !" Brandon said, behind her. "I have to buy something for my lovie dove" Olivia simply smiled. "Make sure that he gonna love it" Brandon reminded her. Olivia suddenly remembered her memories from her past life, she sometimes visits the City Mall to buy clothes for Marcus. Olivia did not say anything, instead, she took a deep breath and stepped into the store. As soon as she entered, a sales lady greeted her with a big smile. However, upon noticing the clothes Olivia was wearing, the sales lady smile faltered slightly. "Cheap stuff." Olivia had endured such looks, even in her past life and didn't bother to respond. She liked wearing these affordable clothes, they were good quality and reasonably priced. "Could you please show me some men's ties?" she asked with a gentle smile, her manners impeccable. Though the sales assistant looked down on her, she still led Olivia into another corner, "Here they are, Miss." "Thank you." After expressing her gratitude, Olivia paused in front of a glass display case brimming with ties and started to browse leisurely. Out of nowhere, her gaze landed on a burgundy tie, and her eyes sparkled with excitement. It looked like it would be just the right fit for him. To get a better look, she reached out to pick it up, but just as she was about to touch it, her hand was slapped away. "Ouch!" Olivia yelped in pain. Before she could see who had hit her, she heard the sales lady beside her speak respectfully, "Mr. Mansada, Miss Rachell, it's been a while. We've got a lot of new arrivals. Would you like to have a look?" The sales lady happily told them, she flattered in her tone that was full of excitement. As a customer, Olivia had just been struck, but the sales lady didn't mention a word about it. Standing in the distance, Brandon saw Olivia being mistreated. "Someone like her should have the right orientation when it comes to the selling area" Brandon started to approach with a cold expression. Olivia noticed and stopped him with just a glance. "Don't interfere, this is our world, everyone has different habits. It's just a misunderstanding." Olivia replied in her thoughts. While Brandon can hear it. "Oh okay, I'll let you now." Brandon huskily said his thoughts. Now Olivia understands that Brandon is quite sensitive about small things, in her life. The sales lady called out again, "Mr. Mansada and Miss Michell! May I know what items you wanted, I'm happy to make you a tour!" hearing this, Olivia already guessed who the visitors were. She calmly placed her hand by her side and turned around. "Well, well, look who it is! It's really an old classmate!" Michell leaned affectionately against Mansada, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Olivia looked at the couple in front of her, who seemed inseparable like conjoined twins, and she spoke coldly, "Apologize to me!" As expected, it was her old college classmate, Rachell. The man beside her was Mansada, the second son of the Manzano family. Michell's eyes widened as if she had heard the most unbelievable joke. "What did you say?"
