Mikayla POV The smell of freshly wet paint swirled around me, stinging my sensitive nose, and my head throbbed. I took a few steps back to get a better view of the wall I’d just painted. A deep sigh escaped me as the bright, sickly pink peeked through the expensive white I’d chosen. I’d picked bright white to make the room feel larger and more open. The wall behind my bed was supposed to be a feature wall with wooden panelling—but seeing what I’d done, I wondered if I’d made a terrible mistake. Maybe I should’ve just left it pink. My heart sank.
