Diego rested his hands on Tessa's shoulder, "My dear. The family needs money right now. We are in a very difficult situation. Just take this as a way of repaying this family for all the good things we've done for you"
Roshan had already come to take Tessa away."Miss, come with us ".
"What? Why would I? Don't touch me. I don't even know who you are, don't lay your filthy hands on me.", she screamed. "Dad, what are you saying? I'm not understanding anything right now. What's going on?", she asked vigorously.
"If you don't cooperate, I'll be forced to take action against you miss".he spoke to her emotionless and without a care in the world.
Tessa felt her legs give way, "What did I do to deserve such inhumane treatment from you. I would never have dreamt you could do this to me",she glared at Diego.
Viviane too was furious, "How could you treat my daughter like this? How could you sell her? You have watched her grown under the same roof with you. Even if you don't share the same blood, how can you just sell a child that has called you Father since she learnt how to speak."
"Who cares about all that? I have given her a name, a family and borne all her expenses since I married you, her own father left, didn't he? He couldn't stand her and left you both, right? If not for me, she would have grown up as a bastard, can't she do this little for me? Did I raise an ungrateful bastard?", Diego raised his voice.
"Stop it!" Viviane yelled also at the top of her voice. "How can you be so ruthless? You've always found it difficult to accept her as your child, but do you have to spit such words to her face? You're selling her to these kinds of people for a couple of thousand bucks. Where is your humanity?" Viviane cried out, tears streamed down her face. Her breathing increased and she clutched her heart.
Roshan pulled Tessa up from the ground, like the whole commotion wasn't happening in front of him, "This way Miss or I'll be forced to drag you", he warned.
Tessa looked at Diego one last time, there was no fury, no anger, she just looked at him like he was a stranger. She didn't have a biological father, but she had always looked up to him as one. She had called him father since she could speak and even when she knew the truth, she had always felt like she owed him so much. But now? Selling her as a slave was how he wanted her to repay. She would never forget this in her lifetime.
Tears streamed down her eyes as she was being pulled to the car parked outside. They shoved her into one of the back seat and the cars sped off, just like they had arrived.
After a few hours of traveling, a few cars finally arrived at an old villa located in the suburban area. It resembled a castle, although lacking bright colors. It looked like it hadn't been inhabited in a very long time.
Roshan personally led Tessa into the castle, walking past fierce looking bodyguards in similar attires.
The castle was furnished in an old western style. The chandeliers hanging above giving it a rare sense of luxury. Pictures that looked like history were hung on every part of the wall that made it look like an old art gallery.
They stepped into the Villa and just like before, she caught sight of the demi god, sitting on a high end chair in his regalia. He looked like a god far above every person's reach, looking down on others like they were mere ants.
Tessa couldn't get her eyes off him, she felt drawn to him like she was captivated. Her eyes trailed his perfect oval face, he was a mesmerizing sight to behold. His brown eyes sparkled in the dimly lit room, his long lashes formed butterfly shadows under his eyes, but even these couldn't hide the coldness and distance in his beautiful eyes.
Roshan kicked her slightly at the back, causing her knees to go number and she fell on her knees. For the moment her eyes stayed glued to him, it looked like a face-off. His eyes locked onto hers, his expression and thoughts unreadable.
She let out a painful scream from the kick, and fell on her knees in front of Roy Dashiel, her owner. He looked down at her, his lips curling into a sadistic smile that didn't reach his eyes. This little girl was interesting.
To the world, he was Roy Dashiel, a powerful business man with assets worth in billions, sly and ruthless in all business dealings, the CEO of Dashiel Empire, singlehandedly built by him. In the underworld, he was Roycan, a powerful name that spelt doom wherever it was mentioned, feared by all and sundry, capable of making heads roll. His presence alone brought dread and sent shivers, the only existing Mafia boss and ruler of the underworld. No one dared to look him in the eyes.
Since she was brought in, her eyes stayed glued on him, like she was.. studying him? He smirked mischievously. He was a presence that breathed commanding respect and submission. Everyone who had the privilege to stand before him, never dared to look him in the eyes. She was now on her knees, her eyes fixed on the ground.
He stood up, and took deliberate steps towards her, the sound of his shoes echoing across the room on the polished marble floor. He bent I'm front of her and forcefully held up her chin, bringing her face to look directly at him.
Her blue eyes sparkled and he could see his reflection in her eyes. A soft whimper escaped her throat lightly as he grabbed her chin and something in him stirred awake. His gaze was deep, like he was looking into her soul, a rare smile formed on his lips. He liked that her eyes contained only the reflection of him.
