Alex Davidson I shot the man that was running toward me and glanced at Zach, “You see that? That’s my ten kills. What about you?” “I’m not counting.” I chuckled, “Just tell me you're weak and kill less than ten.” “If that what makes you happy.” There were so many men with guns waiting for Zach and me when we entered. The atmosphere was tense as we quickly assessed the situation. It was clear that we had stumbled upon something much bigger than we had anticipated. "That old man came prepared. I didn't know he hired so many dogs for our arrival." "We already f****d him before. So, there's nothing new to this." "Well, you have a good point." The room was filled with people, and gunfire could be heard all over the place. We hid behind these containers because there were too many, and we didn't bring any back up. We thought he was unprepared, but he is not. This war will end with so much blood and dead bodies strewn across the floor. As we crouched in our makeshift hiding spot, adrenaline coursed through our veins, realizing that our previous encounter with the old man was merely a taste of what was to come. The deafening sound of gunfire and the sight of lifeless bodies served as a grim reminder that this battle would be far more brutal and unforgiving than we had ever imagined. "Where is Aiden? Did he already head to the room where Cassie was?" I asked. "What do you think? He left us here to die?" "Sort of." "I didn't know this party would be more fun than I expected." "Yeah? Why not count to three and we came out together?" Zach said. "That's a better idea." "One." "Two," I said while loading my gun. "Three!" Zach came out, and I followed him. He killed every single man that was on our way—not until some lucky moron was able to shoot me in the arm. I shot him in the head before rushing inside the room where Aiden was. "You're bleeding." "I know. Thank you for letting me know,' I sarcastically said. "There they are." "Aiden must be having a negotiation with that old man." I rip my sleeves and tie them to my wounded arm to prevent it from bleeding any further. "We need to find a way to get to Aiden quickly," I said, my voice filled with urgency. Zach nodded in agreement as we cautiously made our way towards the room where Aiden was. We tried to come closer to Aiden's location and wait for the right time to emerge from these containers. "Let her go," Aiden commanded the old man. "She's important to you, isn't she?" "Will I come here and serve my as* if she's not?" Aiden answered with sarcasm. I listen carefully while my shot arm throbs with pain. As Aiden continued his conversation with the old man, I knew we had to act quickly. Zach and I exchanged a determined glance, silently agreeing on our next move. We came out to our hiding spot and stood behind Aiden to have his back. We knew that it was crucial to support Aiden in whatever decision he made. With our presence, we hoped to provide him with the reassurance he needed to confront the old man. As we stood behind him, ready to face whatever lay ahead, our determination grew stronger. "I see. You indeed bring your men along. I told you, Aiden. You can't fool me." I smirked and put my hand behind my head to annoy him even more. " Well, it looks like you were right, old man. We're not here to play games. We're here to settle this once and for all." With a confident tone, I locked eyes with the old man, ready to face whatever challenge he threw our way. He pushed the gun closer to Cassie's chin and said, " You may think you're ready, but I assure you, this won't end well for any of you." Cassie's eyes widened in fear, but I refused to let it show. I knew we had to stay strong and focused if we were going to come out of this alive. At that moment, Aiden shot the man in order for him to let go of her. I immediately approached Cassie and pulled her behind the huge container while the gunfire started wrapping around the whole place. "Are you alright?" I questioned. "Yes," her eyes landed on my wounded arm, "You're wounded." "I know. Moving on, you need to stay here. Don't move until we're finished." She nodded, "I won't." "Look, I know how much you wanted to see your mother, but you need to stay put. We can't save you while ensuring our safety." "You can count on me, Alex." After ensuring she won't leave until we're done I came out and started shooting. I reached Aiden's post and asked, " How are we holding up?" "Not quite good. What about Cassie?" "She's perfectly fine." "Aiden!" That shout caught our attention and we saw that old man taking Cassie away. "She's fine, huh?" "I left her there safely." Aiden shook his head and followed that man. I followed him outside and was greeted by that old man's gun. "Put your hands up and drop your weapons," the old man demanded. Aiden stepped closer and answered, " We're not here to cause any trouble. We just want to ensure Cassie's safety." The old man's eyes narrowed as he studied Aiden. "I don't trust you," he said, keeping his gun pointed at us. "But if you truly care about Cassie, then prove it." "You don't want that, old man." "yeah? Try me." Aiden and I exchanged glances and created a better idea. He put his gun down and stood in front of him defenseless, "Why not make a deal? I will let you escape and in return you will let her go. We don't want to kill you, Tony." "Liar. We've been enemies since your father took everything from me!" "I am not my father, so you can ensure I'm not gonna kill you after releasing Cassie. She's my wife, and I don't want her to experience such an event like this." "Exactly. The same reason why I abducted your wife. She deserves to know what kind of man you are." Tony points the gun to Cassie's head. Thanks to my reflexes I shot him before he could end her life. He fell on the ground and Cassie rushed to me in fear while Aiden approached the man. "Kill me," Tony wishes. "Don't worry,Tony. Granting wishes is my specialty." After that a gunshot echoed.
