Hidekazu
Scarlet energy swords stabbed through the sky. Hidekazu shifted, too late, to defend himself. Water flew up from beneath the bridge as his staff flung out, but instead of impaling him, the blades of ki stabbed into the ground around him like a cage.
“Genshu Hidekazu!” Aihi said. “I am the Exalted Dragon Princess and Acting Shōgun of Seiryuu, and you will not walk away from me.”
The sound of his former name was like a knife to the gut. The blade twisted, too, at the realization no one told Aihi the truth about his clan status. His gaze settled, momentarily, on Chizue as he decided what to do next. Every word Hidekazu said would count against him. Every lie and misleading question he’d answered. But she had heard his name.
