Chapter Six

Zander entered the first class that he shared with Crystal on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s and took a seat close to where Crystal sat last time. When Crystal was escorted into the room by Quinten Zander knew that they had started the mating process. Zander cursed for he had not expected Crystal to willingly start the mating process this quickly. When Quinten’s eyes land on Zander, I smiled at him mischievously. Zander knew that Quinten and his parents had no idea what he was capable of which, was one of the few things that he had in his favor. Crystal was engrossed in looking at Quinten to notice me. Quinten kissed Crystal before he slowly backed out of the classroom.

When Crystal took the seat next to me Zander said, “Hello.”

Crystal looked up from her desk where she had placed her notebook, coursebook, a pen, and asked with confusion, “Hello. Are you related to Quinten?”

“I am his brother Zander,” Zander says with an easy smile. Zander looked into Crystal’s blue eyes and gasped at the fact that he could see in color. How can this be? Zander wandered if this could because Crystal was also his soulmate. Zander had never heard of anyone sharing a soulmate with another vampire but, because he and Quinten were twins it might be possible.

Zander was pulled from his thoughts as Crystal said, “It is nice to meet you Zander my name is Crystal.” Crystal would need to ask Quinten about Zander and why he failed to mention that his brother was attending the same university as him.

“What is your major?” Zander asked.

“I am studying practical art. This class is required of all art majors. What are you majoring in?”

“Art history. We have art philosophy together as well.”

“I mistook you for Quinten on Monday.”

“That does not surprise me, Crystal, we are twins after all.”

“That is why I cannot understand why Quinten would not tell me about you.” Crystal said quietly. Crystal turned back to the front when the teacher entered. After class, Quinten surprised me by showing up to walk me to my next class. Crystal asked as they walked, “Why did you not tell me that you had a twin brother?”

“I did not know that I had a twin brother until I saw him this morning after dropping you off.” Quinten fibbed a little but, until he knew what Zander’s end game was, he did not want to reveal everything to Crystal quite yet. “I called my mother, and she did share some things with me.”

“I hope that you will tell me when you are ready.”

“I will tell you when we are alone. You said that Zander was in all your classes today?”

“Yes, Zander is in all of my classes that are on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s.”

“We will talk when we are alone.”

“As you wish cutie-patootie.” Quinten smiled at Crystal. Crystal kissed Quinten on the cheek and said, “Thank you for walking me to class.”

“You are welcome, my angel.” Crystal smiled at Quinten and walked into the classroom.

Vanessa called Quinten as soon as Nicholas said that Quinten may have found his soulmate. Vanessa said, “Quinten, my son, I am glad you are available to talk because your father said that you have something to tell me.”

Quinten smiled thinking about Crystal. Ever since last night Quinten could see in color and could feel my emotions which, was weird for me but, it was nice knowing how much I cared for Crystal. Nicholas would never tell my Vanessa something that was this important because he always assumed Quinten would tell her first but, because of the circumstances being what they were I had called my father first, “I have found my soulmate.”

“I am happy for you, my son. What is her name? How old is she?”

“Her name is Crystal, and she is 22 years old in human years and 147 in vampire years.”

“What does she look like?”

“You will have to wait until the ball to see for yourself mother.”

“Does Zander know that Crystal is your soulmate?”

“If he did not know, I am sure he knows now. Zander is in all of Crystal’s classes, and I did not feel comfortable not walking her to classes.”

“Now, that Zander knows that Crystal is your mate he may try to use her against you. I would have Crystal removed from the classes that she has with Zander. Whatever you do Quinten do not underestimate Zander. We have no idea what Zander is capable of.”

“I will see what I can do about getting Crystal’s schedule changed but, it may be too late, and these classes are required for her major.”

“I want to send guards for Crystal’s safety. It is not safe for you, or Crystal while Zander is there.”

“I will not argue with you on this mother. I agree that Crystal needs to have protection. I am not worried about myself for I do not think that Zander would do anything to me personally.”

“I am glad to hear that. Now I am sure that you need to be in class.”

“Goodbye mother.” Quinten hung up the call and walked into the classroom. Quinten needed to keep an eye on Zander and hopefully once the guards arrived it would be a little easier to keep track of Zander.

When Vanessa was finished talking to Quinten, she went to find Nicholas. Once Vanessa located Nicholas she said, “With Zander at Darkmyth University we need to send guards to protect Crystal and Quinten.”

“Agreed. Did Quinten tell you about Crystal?”

“Yes, Quinten did tell me about Crystal, and I am very happy for him but, we need to protect her now that she is a part of our family.”

“Are you able to see Crystal in your vision my love?”

“No, I cannot see Crystal in my visions. Even when I investigate Quinten’s future it has become blurred, and I am not sure if Crystal is the cause or not.” Vanessa says while twisting her hands nervously, “I am worried about this situation and not being able to see what the outcome will be is extremely bothersome.”

“I know you are worried my love but, we can only hope that Quinten will be there to protect Crystal until the guards get there. We are doing everything in our power to help them and for now we will just have to wait to see what happens.”

“Quinten is going to try to convince Crystal to visit with us during the Thanksgiving break so, that we can discuss things properly.”

Nicholas nods and says softly, “Let us hope that Zander behaves until then.”

As Crystal left her last class for the day, she found Quinten waiting for her right outside of the classroom door. Crystal smiles at Quinten taking his outstretched hand and asked, “How was your day handsome?”

“My day was fine. Though, it is so much better now that I am with you.” Quinten says smiling down at Crystal, “Now, I am taking you to my room for lunch so, that we can truly be alone for a little while.”

Crystal laughs quietly and asks softly, “Is the prince of vampires having a problem finding a spot to be alone with his girlfriend?” Crystal's smile brightened at thought of being Quinten’s girlfriend.

“It seems that way my angel but, I also want you to meet my friends.” Quinten says with a wink.

Crystal’s stomach flipped a little in reaction to the endearment and Quinten’s wink. After walking in silence for a few minutes, Crystal said, “You seem to be happy handsome.”

Every time Crystal used endearments as well it made Quinten’s heart melt. “That is because I am happy my angel.”

Crystal raised her eyebrow in curiosity and said, “Something seem different though handsome.”

“Ever since we kissed last night, I have been able to see in color and feel my emotions. It has been amazing to experience it all day. This is the happiest I have ever felt my angel and it is all because of you.”

Crystal realized that she was falling for Quinten and said, “You make me happy as well my prince.”

Quinten said quietly while his stomach filled with butterflies, “I like it when you use that particular endearment my angel.” Crystal smiled in response as Quinten opened the door to his dorm room.

Brody, Michael, and Lucas all turned and said, “Hey Quinten.” When they saw Crystal enter behind Quinten, they all put down their controllers, and stood up while brushing off the crumbs of food that had gathered on their clothes.

Crystal covered her laugh with her free hand as Quinten said, “I would like all of you to me my girlfriend and soulmate Crystal.” Quinten paused before motioning with his free hand towards the gentlemen he was introducing, “Crystal this is Michael...” Michael waved, “Lucas...” Lucas bowed, “and Brody....” Brody nodded politely.

“It is nice to meet you all,” Crystal said with a smile. Just then Crystal’s phone went off and started playing I am a Barbie Girl. “Please excuse me for a moment.”

Quinten could feel their bond growing stronger. Quinten hoped that by the time that he brought Crystal home for Thanksgiving that she would be in love with him because Quinten was already falling for Crystal. Quinten turned back to Brody, Michael, and Lucas and said, “I hope you do not mind that I brought Crystal over.”

“Of course, we do not mind that you brought Crystal over. We are glad that you did bring her over.” Michael said with smile.

Brody said with a sly smile, “Crystal is a beautiful woman.”

“Brody I am only going to say this once. Keep your hands off Crystal.”’ Quinten asked looking Brody straight in the eye, “Have I made myself clear?”

Brody’s sly smile widened as he said, “You have made yourself perfectly clear. None of us would lay a hand on her unless we were protecting her for some reason.”

Lucas asked, “Are the two of you planning for lunch?”

“Only if the three of you do not mind. I need to speak with Crystal, and I would rather not have an audience. Once I have dropped Crystal off at her dorm room, I would like to speak with the three of you if you have a moment.”

Michael, Lucas, and Brody all nodded in agreement to Quinten’s request. Brody said kindly, “We will get out of your way so, that you can speak with her openly. Just do not keep Crystal all too yourself. We would like to get to know her better.”

“As if Crystal would let me keep her under lock and key.” Quinten said as Crystal walked back into the living room, “I will see the three of you in a few hours.” Michael, Lucas, and Brody waved at Crystal and Quinten as they left the dorm room. Quinten asked as Crystal stepped next to him, “WAs that Stephanie wondering where you were?”

“It was Stephanie and she told me to tell you ‘Keep your hands to yourself.”

Quinten laughed and said, “Crystal, my angel, you are the only one that will be able to toll me to stop if I go too far. I appreciate Stephanie looking after you and is protective of you.”

“Where did Michael, Lucas, and Brody run off too?”

“They were nice enough to give us some alone time. Now, what would you like for lunch my angel?”

“I am not all that hungry yet.”

“Would you like to watch a movie?”

“That would be perfect. You pick something while I make the popcorn.” Crystal said as she walked into the kitchen and started rummaging through the kitchen cabinets. Quinten smiles to himself as he goes to find a movie that they would both enjoy watching. Quinten selected the movie Hitch, placed the disc in the PlayStation console, and sat on the sofa waiting for Crystal to join him. Crystal joined him a few minutes later, sighing as she sat on the sofa next to Quinten, and curled up into his side.

After the movie was over Quinten rose from the sofa and mad his way into the kitchen to make salad and sandwiches for them to eat. While Quinten and Crystal ate Quinten told Crystal all the information that Vanessa had shared with him about Zander. Crystal asked after pondering over the information that Quinten had shared, “Do you believe that Zander knows that we started the mating process?”

Quinten grazed his fingers over Crystal’s face as he said, “I cannot be completely sure what Zander knows or does not know. The only thing that is clear is that Zander evil and that he may try to use you against me. Because, of this my parents believe that you should have protection. Would you agree to always having some guards with you?”

“If it will put your mind at ease then I will not mind if there are guards watching over me.”

“If I did not think that this course of action was the safest option, I would not have brought it up. None of us know what Zander is capable of and that is what is worrisome. My parents and I would like you to come to our castle over the Thanksgiving break so, that we can discuss things.”

“If you and your parents think that this is the best course of action then, I will come with you to see your parents during the Thanksgiving break. Would your parents mind if Stephanie comes along?”

“We will consider it an honor if Stephanie joins us as well. I would like it if you and Stephanie join Lucas, Brody, Michael, and I for dinner.”

“I would enjoy that very much; I will speak to Stephanie about it and let you know what date and time will work for us. What about the classes that I share with Zander?”

“I have been thinking about this since I spoke with my parents but, I am worried that if we change your classes now that will make Zander more suspicious. However, if you feel that Zander is getting suspicious or feel threatened in any way then, please tell one of your guards or we can produce a signal for you to use and we will figure the rest out later.”

“That sounds perfect. Do we have time to watch another movie?” Crystal asks changing the subject.

“For you, I have enough time to watch another movie.” Quinten said watching Crystal break out into a magnificent smile. Quinten had Crystal pick out the next movie since he had picked the first one. Quinten popped the new disc into the PlayStation system, after placing Hitch back into its case, and rejoined Crystal on the sofa.
