Vanessa, Quinten, and Zander’s mother, has the power to see into the future. When Zander was born Vanessa saw that if she and Nicholas raised him then Zander would slaughter thousands of humans and end up hating them for not stopping him. The thing about Vanessa’s visions is that they were not 100% accurate but, she and Nicholas would not risk Zander doing these horrible things. Quinton would not know that he had a brother because Zander could still possibly commit these atrocities if Zander came back to the family. Quinten runs into Zander at Darkmyth University and confronts his mother about Zander. Vanessa confesses the decisions that she made such a long time ago that has caused the decisions that Zander has made. Quinten could not believe that his mother would not tell him something so important knowing that Zander may come looking for all of them. When Quinten finds his soulmate at Darkmyth University as well things get more complicated. Could Quinten’s soulmate be the one person to help resolve the issues that they find themselves dealing with? Chapter One Quinten, Lucas, Michael, and Brody are unpacking in their dorm rooms. They were packing with our doors open so that we could chat. This place was amazing even though it looked like a medieval castle on the outside the rooms are phenomenal. It has a kitchen, a living room with a flat screen tv, and two bedrooms with their own baths. In the bedrooms, there were also flat screen tv’s in each bedroom, a desk, and the latest laptop sitting on the desk. There was a warmer in the kitchen with fresh blood bags in it, which would be restocked at the end of every week by the blood supply coordinator. This way the school officials would be able to keep track how much blood the students consumed. Once Lucas, Michael, Brody, and Quinten finished unpacking, they gathered in Brody and Michael’s dorm room. Brody was setting up his PlayStation so that they could play DUST514. Quinton asks, “Have any of you thought of names for the fraternity that we are forming?” Michael says, “Theta Lambda Upsilon.” Brody says, “Kappa Alpha Nu.” Lucas says, “Epsilon Pi Iota Chi.” “No offense Michael but yours is too serious. So, we are down to KAN and EPIC.” Quinten says with a smile. “Personally, I like EPIC.” They all nodded their heads in agreement. “So, what shall be our motto? And each of you is going to be getting a position.” Brody says, “I will be the vice president and work on the crest and motto.” Lucas says, “I will be the treasurer and philanthropy chair.” Michael says, “I will be the Freshman Coordinator an in charge of Marketing.” “You know that means overseeing pledging? Quentin asks with a grimace. “Yes, I realize that Quinten,” Michael says with a snarl, “What is going on with you lately? One minute you do not even want to be here and the nest you are forming a fraternity.” Quinton gets up and says, “My father is making me start the fraternity. I believe I have told you about this information before. My father has promised that he will go to ground once I have finished school and created a successful fraternity.” “We have heard this from you before. When do you do what your father wants?” Lucas asked as he rose and went into the kitchen to grab beer for everyone. “I follow through on his demands when he means it this time. My father made a promise, and he never breaks his promise.” Quinten says while running his hand over his face in exasperation. Brody asks, “You do not think that this is because your father feels like you need to socialize more?” “I know for certain that my father made these conditions so that I would have no choice but, to be more social. My father wants me to try to trust people more, hence starting the fraternity. I do not know if any of you know this but, my parents have been on this earth for five centuries now and my mother is ready to go to ground.” Quinten says with concern lacing this last statement. “I am sorry that your parents will no longer be around. They are formidable people.” Lucas asks with a slight frown trying to change the subject, “Shall we start planning and discussing more of the logistics concerning the fraternity once the welcome arty is over?” ^ ^ ^ “Look at this place, Stephanie. It is amazing.” Crystal says while walking into my room. “I know Crys. Now do not get over-excited. We need to unpack and then look around. Do not forget that there is a party this evening.” Stephanie said seriously, “I want you to try to make some new friends. I will not always be able to be with you.” “I know that Steph but, you will always be there if I need you. I hope that we can find ourselves a man.” Stephanie laughs and says, “You and your fantasies. Always reading how the knights rescue the damsel and whisk her away to a life of luxury.” “I know it can happen if I believe.” Crystal says while quickly unpacking her things quickly. “Now what shall I wear?” “I say you wear this…” Stephanie says holding up navy blue lace skater style dress. The dress was plain except for the few lace details at the bottom hem, waistline, and from the neckline down under the arm and up to the back neckline. “You seem to have made some preparations for this evening for us. You knew I would not have an outfit for this evening, so you prepared one for me.” Crystal kissed Stephanie on the cheek as a thank you and said, “Now, I am going to shower and eat. Do you need help unpacking?” “No, you go ahead and get ready. I will be done in a flash.” Stephanie said using her speed to rush off to her room. Crystal hops in the shower, straightens her strawberry blonde hair, pins the right side up with a gold flower clip, applies her make-up, slips on her dress, gold stiletto strappy shoes, gold bangles and earrings. Crystal goes to the warmer finds a bag of O+ blood, pours half of the bag into a glass, and drinks it. As Crystal turns around from washing the glass out in the sink Stephanie exits her room in a silver dress with sequins all over it. The dress has a scoop neckline, spaghetti straps, and stops mid-thigh. Stephanie was also wearing black stiletto pumps, black bangles, and black oval sequin earrings. Crystal and Stephanie smiled at one another in approval. Stephanie asks, “Is there enough blood left for me?” Crystal turns, pours another glass of blood from the same bag of blood that she had used just moments ago emptying the bag. Crystal puts the empty bag in its proper disposal container and hands Stephanie the glass of blood. Stephanie downs the glass of blood before rinsing the glass out in the sink. Stephanie turns to Crystal and says, “We better go before it gets too late.” Stephanie grabs her keys, Crystal’s hand, and headed out of the door. They walk to the communal area between the girl’s dorm and boy’s dorm. All heads turned towards Crystal and Stephanie as they entered the communal area and then they all turned back to the conversations that they were having. Stephanie felt Crystal tense up, so she turned toward Crystal and said, “Come on let’s mingle.” Crystal took a deep breath, nodded her head in agreement, and followed Stephanie’s lead.
