CHAPTER 1: Unexpected Disaster
A normal morning in the city of Green Ville, where high-rise buildings rise into the deep blue sky. Everyone started their day, not knowing that this would be an unforgettable day. In a small apartment, Anna, a young girl who just graduated from college, is preparing to go to work. She wore a white shirt, black pants, and walked quickly down the stairs. “Good morning, John!” Anna smiled and said to her neighbor downstairs. John is an engineer working for the government. “Hello Anna! You seem very happy today,” John replied, his eyes shining with curiosity. “I just received an interview invitation for a new position at my dream company! I hope everything goes well,” Anna replied, her voice full of excitement. On the way to the company, Anna noticed something strange. The birds seemed to fly in a single direction, and the sky was suddenly darker than usual. Sirens sounded in the distance. “What's going on?” Anna asked herself, pressing the accelerator harder to get to the company as quickly as possible. When she arrived at work, her co-worker, Mike, was waiting at the door. “Anna, have you heard the news?” Mike asked, his face worried. “What news?” Anna asked again, her eyes wide. “There is an urgent announcement from the government. They said a big storm was coming in the next few hours and asked everyone to stay indoors,” Mike explained. Announcements from the government constantly resound on radio and television. Everyone in the city urgently prepared to deal with the upcoming disaster. Anna hurriedly called her mother. “Mom, have you heard anything about the storm? Mom, are you safe at home? Anna asked worriedly. “I heard, Mom, I'm preparing everything. You have to be careful too!” The mother answered from the other end of the line, her voice shaking. When Anna returned with her colleagues, they began moving important documents to a higher floor to avoid flooding. “We need to get out of here as soon as possible,” John, who had just come running, said to Anna and Mike. “I checked the weather forecast, and the situation is very bad.” Not long after, the rain began to pour down non-stop. The powerful storm brought constant gusts of wind. Anna, John and Mike decided to leave the company and find a safe haven. “Where should we go now?” Anna asked, her voice cracking with fear. “There is a relief center not far from here. They are organizing the evacuation of everyone there,” John suggested. The three quickly moved through the pouring rain, trying to stay calm amid the howling wind and constant thunder. They encountered many others who were also making their way to safety. When we arrived at the relief center, the place was crowded with people. The sounds of children crying and adults talking mixed in the stuffy air. “Anna, are you okay?” Mike asked, his hand gripping her shoulder reassuringly. “Yeah, I'm fine. But what should we do next?” Anna replied, her eyes showing concern. John looked around, looking for someone who could help them. “We need to check in to get information about the current situation and see if any assistance is needed,” John said, pointing to a nearby information booth. After many hours of waiting, Anna and everyone around her began to get used to the rhythm of life in the relief center. They share food, water, and their stories to overcome difficulties together. “Everyone will be fine, we need to stick together,” an older man said, his voice firm. Anna realizes the importance of helping each other during these difficult times. She volunteers as part of the support team inside the center, helping distribute food and care for people with special needs. A few days later, the storm gradually dissipated, leaving a city in disarray, but also glimmers of hope. Local authorities began recovery work and helped people return home. Anna, John and Mike, along with others, became close friends while living together at the shelter. “We're through the worst of it,” Mike said, looking toward the sunny horizon. “Yes, and we will rebuild everything from scratch, stronger,” Anna replied, a smile on her lips. Returning home, Anna saw that everything had been devastated, but she was not discouraged. Thanks to the help of the community, she began cleaning and repairing her apartment. In the days that followed, Anna and the community worked together to restore the city. They learned that in difficulties, humanity truly shines, and solidarity is the greatest strength to overcome any disaster. In the end, although the disaster has passed, the friendship and spirit of solidarity it left behind will forever be a part of Green Ville.
