The glowing map remained in Isabelle’s mind even after she and Daniel left the glass building.
Neither of them spoke for a moment as they walked slowly through the unfamiliar part of the dream city. The streets were quiet, and the tall towers shimmered softly under the dream sky.
Finally, Isabelle broke the silence.
“That place on the map… the one glowing brighter than the others.”
Daniel nodded.
“You’re thinking about it too.”
She smiled slightly.
“How could I not?”
They reached the edge of the district where the tall buildings slowly faded into a wide open landscape. Beyond the city stretched rolling hills covered with silver grass that moved gently in the dream wind.
It looked endless.
Isabelle crossed her arms, studying the horizon.
“So… how far do you think it is?”
Daniel chuckled.
“In a normal world? Probably days.”
She sighed dramatically.
“Great. I forgot to pack snacks for a dream adventure.”
Daniel laughed.
“I’m sure the dream world will forgive us.”
They began walking.
The ground beneath their feet felt soft, almost like clouds shaped into grass. The dream sky above them glowed with shades of deep blue and violet.
For a while they walked quietly, enjoying the peaceful scenery.
Then Isabelle asked something that had been on her mind.
“Daniel… do you ever wonder why this dream started in the first place?”
He thought about it carefully.
“I’ve tried to figure it out.”
“And?”
Daniel looked toward the distant horizon.
“I think our minds found each other somehow.”
Isabelle raised an eyebrow.
“That sounds like a science fiction movie.”
He shrugged playfully.
“Maybe it is.”
She laughed.
“But honestly,” Daniel continued, “there might be something deeper connecting us.”
Isabelle felt her heart warm slightly.
“Like destiny?”
Daniel smiled gently.
“Maybe.”
They kept walking until they reached a small hill. From the top, they could finally see something far in the distance.
A faint glow.
Isabelle’s eyes widened.
“That must be it!”
Daniel followed her gaze.
Far across the dream landscape, a bright light shimmered against the horizon.
It looked like a massive tower made of pure light.
Even from this distance, it was beautiful.
Daniel nodded.
“Looks like we found our destination.”
Isabelle placed her hands on her hips.
“Alright, dream explorer. Let’s go see what’s waiting for us.”
They continued walking toward the glowing tower.
But as they traveled farther from the dream city, the world around them began to change.
The hills slowly turned into a quiet forest filled with tall silver trees. Their branches glowed softly, lighting the path ahead.
Isabelle looked around in amazement.
“This place is incredible.”
Daniel nodded.
“Our minds must have created it together.”
They walked deeper into the forest.
The light from the distant tower slowly grew brighter.
But suddenly, Isabelle stopped.
“Wait.”
Daniel turned.
“What is it?”
She pointed toward the ground.
There were footprints.
Fresh ones.
Daniel frowned.
“That’s impossible.”
Isabelle looked up at him.
“We’re supposed to be the only ones here… right?”
Daniel didn’t answer immediately.
He looked down at the strange footprints leading deeper into the glowing forest.
Then he looked back at Isabelle.
“I thought we were.”
The two of them exchanged a quiet glance.
Because if someone else had been walking in their dream world…
Then the dream might be far more mysterious than they had ever imagined.
And somewhere ahead, near the glowing tower…
Someone — or something — might already be waiting for them.
