Two weeks after everything happened, life in Paris slowly returned to normal.
At least on the surface.
Isabelle walked through a quiet street near the river, the evening air cool and calm. The golden sunset reflected beautifully on the water, and the lights of the city were beginning to turn on one by one.
People passed by without noticing anything unusual.
But Isabelle knew something extraordinary had happened.
Somewhere between dreams and reality, she and Daniel had created another world.
A world that still existed.
Daniel joined her a few minutes later, carrying two cups of coffee.
“One for you,” he said.
“Thank you,” Isabelle replied with a smile.
They sat on a bench overlooking the river. From there they could see the distant shape of the Eiffel Tower glowing softly as evening arrived.
For a moment they simply enjoyed the peaceful view.
Then Daniel asked quietly,
“Have you been back there?”
Isabelle knew exactly what he meant.
“The dream world?”
Daniel nodded.
“Not yet,” she admitted.
“I’ve been curious though.”
Daniel looked thoughtful.
“So have I.”
Isabelle took a sip of coffee.
“Part of me wondered if it disappeared after everything we went through.”
Daniel shook his head slowly.
“I don’t think it did.”
“Why?”
He smiled slightly.
“Because I still feel it.”
Isabelle looked at him.
“The connection?”
“Yes.”
He tapped his temple gently.
“It’s still there.”
She felt it too.
A quiet sense of familiarity.
Like a door that remained closed but not locked.
“You think we could go back?” she asked.
Daniel shrugged lightly.
“There’s only one way to find out.”
---
Later that night, Isabelle lay in bed staring at the ceiling.
The room was dark and quiet.
Outside, the city lights of Paris shimmered beyond the window.
She closed her eyes slowly.
For a few minutes, nothing happened.
Just silence.
Then suddenly—
A soft glow appeared in the darkness of her mind.
The dream world was returning.
When Isabelle opened her eyes again, she was standing beside the familiar glowing river.
Soft lantern lights floated across the water.
The skyline of the dream city stretched around her.
And in the distance, she could see the glowing shape of the Eiffel Tower rising into the night sky.
She smiled immediately.
“We’re back.”
Footsteps sounded behind her.
Daniel appeared moments later, looking just as amazed.
“Well,” he said.
“I guess the dream world missed us.”
Isabelle laughed softly.
“I was hoping it would still be here.”
Daniel looked around.
But something about the dream felt different.
“Do you notice anything strange?” he asked.
Isabelle looked across the landscape.
The city was larger than before.
New streets stretched beyond the river.
Tall towers and distant mountains appeared where nothing had existed earlier.
“It grew,” she said in surprise.
Daniel nodded slowly.
“The dream kept evolving even while we were awake.”
Isabelle walked toward the river.
“Then this place might never stop changing.”
Daniel followed her.
“Which means…”
He paused.
“…there might still be things here we haven’t discovered.”
Isabelle smiled with curiosity.
“Then I guess we should start exploring.”
Above them, the dream sky shimmered with endless stars.
And somewhere far beyond the glowing city…
New mysteries were waiting.
Their dream world was only beginning to reveal its true size.
